  1. I generally use vst2 plugs out of habit. In the past I have had problems with vst3 plugs. This is one of those instances where the problem was with vst2.
  2. OK. Just replaced a grand piano plug in a project of mine that features the piano. Soundpaint 1928 held its own and performed wonderfully with significant reduction of CPU hunger! Two things I am missing though. 1-no pedal noise and have not found it if there is a tweak to adjust! 2-no hammer fallback noise as well,. I know these things sound like nitpicking but those features lend a more realistic character to any electronic piano especially when it is playing completely solo. Hopefully there will be an update to this library that will include them. Nevertheless, I would not hesitate to use this piano! Verdict: Brilliantly done! Hats off!!
  3. Download and installation worked flawlessly! Piano installation as well! I have to say that YouTube videos do not do justice to the sound quality of this piano!!! For a freebie it is a must have! Haven't tried using it in a project yet to check CPU hit but seems to be extremely useable just out of the box. Grab it now!
  4. I had this problem for years while using the Sonar versions of Cake. Sometime after a Platinum update, the problem went away on its own and has been fine ever since. Maybe contact Noel Borthwick and he can find out the setting that changed. I'm sorry that I don't have an answer but after it fixed itself I never pursued why.
  5. I took advantage of the Phoenixverb being on sale recently. I was surprised to find the output was mono!! No matter how I tried it only had mono output in a track or bus. I finally tried the VST 3 version and discovered that it works perfectly. The VST 2 version will not output stereo no matter what. Is this a known issue with Phoenixverb? Just wanted to give everyone a heads up!!
  6. There is a section on articulations in this forum towards the bottom of the main page.
  7. Btw, this is a killer for classic rock tracks. I never was a big Orange fan but this Dual Terror has got me rethinking about that.
  8. This is a dual channel amp. Tiny Terror was single if I remember correctly.
  9. Thanks for responding!! I will pass on this information.
  10. Hi! Sidroe here!! First, I must say how great it is to still be part of the Cake Universe. The work you guys are doing is incredible!! Now, I have a friend who is blind. Back in the day I would assist him in his recording ventures and I must say, what he could accomplish on his own was just amazing. He used Sonar 8.5 and a program called Jaws. Just to watch him work was unbelievable! He recently bought a new computer and was sad to find out that Jaws discontinued support for Sonar. My question is simple. Are there any screen reading programs out there that is working on CbB? Otherwise He will have to resort to using Sonar 8.5 and the old Jaws scripts and my concern is how stable this would be on Windows 10, much less 11!! Is there anyone out there using screen readers with good results for CbB? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
  11. If you move the threshold slider or knob deep in to a ridiculous point, you cannot mistake the sound of over-compressed, lifeless music gasping for air!!! Take a while and leave it there and listen. Eventually, you will always be able to hear where the correct settings will be. It won't hurt to use different formats of music to get an idea what settings work for what type of music. I, too, can't tell you how many times I have been told by some pretty big heavyweights in the business to stop relying on the meters so much and use your ears more. I still struggle between the two!!
  12. I sometimes copy the rhythm track on the far pan, paste it and pan it to the opposite side. Then I click and drag the copied track just milliseconds behind the beat. This, if done correctly, can create the feel that no two guitar players will play in exact synchronized timing! BE CAREFUL!!! Pulling too far out ot time just creates a digital delay!! If you hear that you're too far out! You can just drag back until you find the sweet spot. Once you find it you'll have a wonderful wide open spot in the center for that beautiful guitar solo that will change the world and bring peace to the universe!!
  13. Thanks so much for the info and your time especially!!!!
  14. Thanks so very much. May I ask was that info in the help file or maybe the reference manual and if so where was it located? I have searched all over and could not find it.
  15. Can anyone help!! I scoured the latest Cakewalk manual and do not find any reference to this editing workflow.
  16. Is there a way to copy and paste just the articulation track from one track to paste to a different track? I love the articulation map concept but the editing is rather slow going workflow wise. I wish the copy and paste of articulations were more like copying and pasting of the automation lanes.
  17. It was SVX1 given away a while ago. 2 just completed the collection.
  18. Used 5 Jampoints and knocked SVX2 down to 20 bucks. Now I have the entire Ampeg collection!!!
  19. Totally lost on this one!! Completed the purchase, took me to Box where the downloads reside. Download the vsts, no explanation to install with this Aquarius app thingy. All I got was the Comp part of the strip. All other parts of the strip must be authorized. Wtf?????? I GIVE UP!! HELP!!!!
  20. We already have gone down this rabbit hole enough!!! I would much rather we spend the time making music than posting about a crippled feature that probably won't be fixed!
  21. Hi!! Sidroe here!! I was the OP of the record breaking longest thread in the old forum on just this topic. That seems like so many years ago now. I still find it hard to believe that we are still having to discuss the shortcomings of the staff view for this many years now! It doesn't feel like the fix is any closer!!! I still have confidence that if the staff issues can be fixed, the bakers will find a way.
