Have they ever offered such a deal shortly after release of a new version?
-
Hmm. To me, Pro-R is the weakest plugin in an otherwise stellar lineup. Shortly after getting Pro-R I put it on everything but then slowly started to replace it with other plugins (even some freebies) because it colors everything that goes through it in such an unpleasent way. I was really surprised because many instances of C2, Q2, and Saturn can be found in almost all of my projects. Don't get me wrong, the design -- like all FF plugins -- is fantastic. And the GUI animation is absolutely mesmerizing -- like a plugin lava lamp. But the sound is just plain wierd. Despite reading the entire manual, watching all the videos I could find, and spending many days with the plugin, I was never able to get it to sound good. Perhaps Pro-R2 will be better (to my ears)...

I just ran the ASC and synchronized my license of Rev Plate-140 and it still comes up as unregistered in Cubase. Is this normal behavior for Arturia plugins -- i.e., do they require us to periodically 'check-in'?

I've tried FF, Chrome, and (gasp!) IE ... none worked. I think we need the secret password.

Is anyone else having this problem: When you open Miroslav Philharmonik 2 or Syntronik, it defaults to the last-used sound-file path and displays an error message saying its sounds cannot be found. True you can redirect it to the correct path and rescan, but why should we have to do this everytime? Is it possible that both VIs share the same path?

Okay, last Amplitude 4 question (and, yes, I did read the manual and look online). Can you increase the size of the GUI? It's sooooo small!!!
-
Okay, I see that too. So, the problem does seem to be the way Cubase reports the version number. Good to know.
-
Just to make sure we're looking in the same place, is this where you're seeing version 4.91?
-
Wow, this is truly bizare. How can Cubase report version 4.30 but then load the plugin that clearly shows 4.91? My god, I'm in the Twilight Zone!!! Oh well, back to troubleshooting...I'll report my findings when I'm done. Thanks again, Larry.

Hmm, just noticed that the various choices for stomps, amps, insets, etc. displayed when clicking the gray buttons in the top red bar do not correspond with the graphic routing display at the bottom that opens when you click "Prest Browser". I would think they'd be the same, no?

FYI: Even after uninstalling and re-installing, Cubase *still* reports version 4.3 while both Windows and the info pop-up on the plugin itself reports the correct version: 4.90. Thanks, Steinberg!

Yes, I always install VST3s, when they're available. And I just checked to be sure: the Plug-in Manager is, in fact, showing that the installed version is a VST3 and located in the correct folder. At this point I'll just uninstall it and start from scratch. As always, thanks for the help!

Hey Larry, I don't think so since the reported version number is 4.30. Please don't tell me that 4.30 is actually version 3. ?
-
Would someone please tell me which version of Amplitude 4 is reported in Cubase? Mine shows 4.30 but IKM's website says the latest (which I just installed) is 4.91. I'm wondering if the plugin version is not the same as the standalone (which I did not install). Thanks.

Downloading, installing, and fixing all the problems to get this stuff to work properly was a real f-ing nightmre! It took 3 days; it should have been a few hours. WTF? How could IKM be at version 4 of some of their products and still not have a downloader/installer?!? They obviously don't care about their customers. This was my first and definitely my *last* IKM purchase. What a huge mistake!!!

Hey Larry, actually I was wondering why Carlos thought is was *not* a good deal. I thought I may be missing something obvious.
-
For $125 it seems like a good deal for new users. May I ask why you think otherwise? I was just about to buy it myself.

Mackie was a *great* company until they went public. Since then the quality of their products have dropped considerably.

If you didn't recieve a download link via email, just login to your account, go to My Orders/Review orders, and then click on "Download File(s) >>>" under the bright red "View or Change Order" button.

I chose The Tom Thumb Piano. It's a nice complement to the large, high-end piano VIs I own.

This made the new ST 4 CS content available to me. Everything is working now -- thanks.
