  1. Oops, I think you mispoke there. ? Sadly this^ is the strategy I now use to greet new Cubase releases. Then again, maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised this time given that SB had more time to work on it.
  2. Agreed. I suspect Matthias Quellmann would not have said anything publicly if it were not very close. Folks are already chomping at the bit over on the Cubase forum and stirring the pot (excuse the mixed metaphores) will only make things worse.
  3. If true, I wonder if it was the intense competition among music software companies that drove them out of business. I'm definitely not a business guy, but have to wonder if this situation bodes ill for the remaining companies. How much cheaper can they sell their plugins and still stay solvent?
  4. Which we now know will be released on a Wednesday:
  5. Great plugin *and* a simple one-click download.
  6. What I find useful about Cosmos is the way it organizes my samples. When I use MediaBay I have to rely on my (modest) memory to know which sample library folder to look in, and this involves several iterations before I find the sample I want. Cosmos obviates that search process by allowing me to do a 'meta' search across all libraries at once. YMMV.
  7. SATV is an analogue modeled saturation plugin that can add harmonic depth and richness to any track. Equally suited to individual instruments or multi-track drum kits, SATV allows you to effortlessly enhance or boost the harmonic content and dynamics of your whole mix. Use voucher code "SATV-2999" during checkout to reduce price to $29.99 (or use your monthly voucher w/o the SATV code to get it for $14.99). https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/x-mellowmuse-sat-v.html

    Waves free plugin

This is news to me too. Zo?
  10. I finished watching the video and learned a few new tricks that will certainly make using this plugin much easier. Particularly useful is the ability to: export songs and the user dictionary incorporate specific phonemes (via chevrons) save alternative pronunciations Thanks again, Reid!
  11. Gee, 1:03 into the video and I already learned something: I never noticed the play button that allows you to preview your vocal. I've been auditioning by soloing the Emvoice track and playing my entire project. Apparently I have a lot to learn ... off to school now. Thanks, Reid
  12. Just discovered Cosmos requires us to sign in to our Waves account. I don't like that.
  13. A *very* useful plugin! Much better than the one built into Cubase. Couldn't help but notice that it looks a lot like the one in XLN's XO.
  14. Hmm, it appears to be $39 not $29.
  15. I picked up XO (the plugin, not hugs and kisses) for $53.76 last November from Plugin Discounts. They've had lots of good XLN deals over the years. I guess you could say they're really 'xln' in that way. ?

    Waves free plugin

The plugin is part of the OneKnob Series and is called: FU. The higher you turn the knob, the more non-Waves plugins it deletes from your system. It uses advanced AI to also deregister the deleted plugins from your online accounts so you can't reinstall them. It also comes with 50 years of WUP: Waves Uninstall Program! I was a beta-tester and can report that it works flawlessly. Unfortunately it also deleted my DAW, so I'm kinda screwed. Oh well, it was free after all. Buyer be Waves. ?
  17. Hi Reid, My gripe is that we cannot break apart "...two notes connected in a legato, where one word is two notes." Currently the only way (I know of) to accomplish this is to delete one note, insert a new shorter one above/below the existing 'block' of notes, and then drag the new one to where you want it. The cause of this problem is that Emvoice assumes you want to keep the legato transition between notes and thus only allows you to drag-move the boundary between them rather then separate them. I'll watch your video when it comes out because I find working with Emvoice very frustrating (though I have used it quite a bit!). Cheers...
  18. I've never heard you say that before.
  19. It has its uses, but definitely not a 'go-to' or 'must-have' EQ -- i.e., you'll live without it. ?
  20. This was a freebie years ago...
  21. After watching Andrew Huang's video I was going to buy this b/c I was very impressed by how much thought obviously went into designing and coding this synth. It seems to be one of the most innovative, flexible and powerful synths available. But then I watched the preset demo video and was surprised how timbrally homogenous most presets sounded. They remind me of my old Chroma Polaris. So I decided to pass even though this is a really great deal.
  22. Thanks, but none of my emails have that option. ?
  23. Okay, so how do we unsubscribe from IKM's newsletter? We should be able to do this in the User Area. Musicians First.
