  1. 96 Tears - Question Mark & The Mysterians (Sorry about that, but it's an association. We gigged opposite those guys in the 1960s, and to tell the truth, they were better than that record. The title was supposed to be 69 tears, but it was nixed due to the sexual connotations. They hid their names for fear that being Mexican/Americans would hurt sales.)
  2. Grilled burgers today, but not with becan. Cheese, but no becan. Tis a shame. Perhaps next time. Learned two 'old' songs yesterday and today. Springsteen's "Dancing In The Dark" and Bangles' "Walk Like An Egyptian". I made the backing tracks last week. I think they turned out well. After over 500 backing tracks, I'm starting to get decent at it. I deserve some becan after all that hard work. And when we get on our next gig this week, we'll bring home the becan. It's a good way to make a living.
  3. I think it was Mark Twain who said something like, "When the end of the world comes, I'm going to Cleveland. Everything happens there 10 years later."
  4. "Ain't That A Bitch" - Johnny 'Guitar' Watson Johnny left us too soon, but he left us a lot of fun tunes
  5. The Dolphin - Stan Getz Nice, cool school music for a Sunday morning.
  6. (More EDM on the way) "Shake It Don't Break It" - Dj Besiky
  7. Capriccio Italien - Pyotr Tchaikovsky - Cleveland Orch / George Szell conducting
  8. "Cement Mixer (Put-Ti-Put-Ti)" - Slim Gaillard
  9. The Great Gig In The Sky - Pink Floyd Man that gal can wail!!! Clare H. Torry improvised it on the spot, and then asked meekly if it was any good. (sorry about the double-click - I can't promise it won't happen again - I'm like that)
  10. Nah, and quite a few are gone to the great gig in the sky by now.
  11. Time for some late 70s fusion jazz... Michael Colombier - (self-titled album) With folks like Michael Brecker, Lee Ritenour, Herbie Hancock, Jaco Pastorius, Michael Boddicker, Larry Carlton, Tom Scott and other giants of the day. It's like an old friend. I'm past this kind of music now, but revisiting it is definitely fun.
  12. Beach Boys aren't boys anymore. New Kids on the Block aren't kids anymore Young Rascals are neither young nor rascals anymore Kid Rock ain't no kid no more New Edition is old if the Four Freshmen haven't graduated by now they are the Four Flunkies moral: be careful when naming your act if you expect to hang around for a few decades
  13. You are getting deeper and deeper into a trance - you will go to nortonmusic.com and buy all my products for Band-in-a-Box, then you will forget that you read this message. :D Seriously, that was a fun illusion. I just had to share it with y'all. Notes
  14. This is a cool optical illusion - it has nothing to do with music - watch at your own risk!!! I would think if you have epilepsy or some other challenge, you might not want to watch this. Stay focused reading the words, one letter at a time, don't take your eyes off them, and when the video is over, you might have a trippy hallucination for a few moments. Watch full screen if you want
  15. Occupational dilemma of one who makes his living playing music. I never get to hear anyone live unless they are playing on the same bill as me. Why? Whenever someone comes to town, I'm gigging. (I'm not complaining though, I'd really rather play than listen). Notes
  16. Glad your safe. Feed those goats something special (whatever the goat equivalent of an ice cream sundae is), they deserve it!!!
  17. I'm not often fond of mostly one-chord songs, but I've always liked that one ^ More about fame.... Celebrity Skin - Hole
  18. Crosseyed Cat - Muddy Waters Because every now and then a little Muddy is good for one's soul. With Muddy, James Cotton, Pinetop Perkins, Johnny Winter and the rest of the gang, the blues doesn't get better than this. I'd love to have played sax on this session.
