  1. Please don’t wipe W11, that is really a gesture of giving in. It may not solve anything. I encourage you to stick with it and keep on troubleshooting. If the sfc /scannow trick shows everything is fine and hunky dory then you’d just be wasting your time and patience by wiping. W11 works for a very large majority without issues. The Bakers take some time to reply, don’t sweat it, not worth it. Personally I would start by uninstalling anything to do with both of your Focusrite units and any other Asio drivers you may have inadvertently installed. Then install the drivers for the unit you trust, re-booting after the uninstall(s) and then after the install. FYI, i have a couple of NVME 2’ plus an SSD I read about a FEW people having issues, but they are very specific issues. There are websites where you can check out those ssd’s concerned. Don’t sweat it. J
  2. If you have several dmp files then either do several submissions or, better still, upload to Dropbox and send the link. Your photo is probably already out there. No biggie. J
  3. Sounds like a very specific system issue, so here's my 2 Euro Cents ...... No need to re-install W11 in this modern world. You can do an in-programme repair now (disclaimer : I've never done it, its at your risk because> see next phrase which has always worked for me). Try this first : Open a Command Prompt as Admin : Start Button > type in CMD in the seach box > right click on the CMD exe file shown and choose Run as Administrator > if you throw up a UAC click YES > type the following in the Window where the cursor is winking at you : sfc /scannow > (note the space before the / ) then press enter and let it do its thing. If anything is wrong with your W11 files (corruption) they'll be downloaded and installed > re-boot and your W11 should be good to go. Also, close down any un-necessary apps when running Sonar. Run your A/V then make sure your it EXCLUDES (ie no longer scans) the main Cakewalk folder, and the vst folder (if its elswhere other than in the Cakewalk root folder). J
  4. No, he gave up after W10. But a lot of them apply to W11 J
  5. ……. Turn USB sleepstate to never, turn off Windows sounds are also good ones to do. J
  6. Same here (retired/pension bit) but my laptop, a modest i5, updated a year or so ago with no issues. There are several ways to do it and are all well documented. Just choose the one you feel at ease with. J
  7. If you posted this upstairs you may get more reactions. Surely a 10 sec nag screen is a small price to pay for free software ? J
  8. Whilst i rarely use Export, this intermittent behaviour also happens when bouncing. I’ve never been able to pinpoint the reason. J
  9. I always found that all K7 machines, even the best, when the heads were clogged up or/and were not cleaned regularly, muffled the sound. Whatever the make. J
  10. OK, i give in then, but lets be honest, the sticky shows the latest (new) changes. What is more current than that ? J
  11. There is a sticky two threads under this one which explains the changes etc………. J
  12. Colour customisation will no doubt come - in the future. Patience is required however. Just because you don't like the colour schemes, doesn't make for a show stopper. The markers police size has been mentioned before, you're not the first to ask for an increase in type face size...... I'm not keen on your idea of a pop up - it could obscure the place where you're trying to put a marker ! J
  13. Yes It is simple. Use Sonar Preferences, it does work. But then I don't install Steinberg products. Nor Magix. And yes, I know how to Google, thanks. I clean the Asio part of the Registry manually every so often. FYI I believe its a Windows "issue" (I'm not a computor expert by any means so don't quote me......). AFAIA Sonar reads what is included in the Registry. But : my GT100 multi pedal also installs its own Asio driver with a Registry entry, but it doesn't interfere with Sonar. Same for the Soundcraft MTK22 driver. Same for the Spark Asio driver. Same for my old f/w Saffire Asio driver etc etc. If those products are not turned on at boot up, (therefore not recognised by Windows), then they don't show up. Only my Focusrite Asio driver does. Your problem is that you're using a Steingberg product. Ouch ! And I take back what I said about Image Line - there is now an advanced option in their installer to NOT install their so called Low Latency Asio Driver. If only the others did the same life would be great ................ YMMV J
  14. I do blame those companies that install their own drivers without asking. Stand up Steinberg, Image Line, Magix etc. But so what ? Just go into Preferences and change to your favourite driver again. J
  15. No, I don't live in the USA............ sorry. I'm retired and so don't have so much money to throw around as before. But as I said, self discipline (simple rules) and you'll be fine.
  16. No, us non professionals who can’t afford multiple machines then we have no choice. Look at it that way. There are a few simple rules to follow re safety on line of which i’m very strict about. I live in the real world and no it doesn’t shock me. Your sort of rigid reaction does though.
  17. Well, as i said, there are two ways of looking at things. BTW, Me, i would trouble shoot your system. Been using Sonar for over a year, no issues. CbB is older code, Sonar newer, one software works the other doesn’t - what do they have in common - their OS. Lets agree to disagree on this, there will be no winners.
  18. In the real world today, most people are on line 24/7.
  19. Oooh the theories - I’ll get my tin hat then……. FYI once Sonar, be it free or sub, is installed, it will phone home and be authorised in the back ground. (Note those two words). 99 times out of 100 you will have no need to intervene. And It cannot suddenly « de-authorise » itself. BTW iLoks can get damaged and lost, not for me. Fair to the customer, hmmm, there are two sides to that coin. The side i don’t think you’ve grasped is that subs help pay the Devs for future updates, fixes etc - whether we like them or not, subs are a way to invest in a company and are here to stay. YMMV of course.
  20. I would really like to see the Sonitus plugs (updated) and grouped together in a Mixing/Mastering plugin à la Ozone (5 in my case). Yes I know I can insert them one after the other, no I'm not looking for a chain etc, but a one-size-fits-all, aggregated Sonitus (like Ozone) would be great. I would use that all the time. YMMV J
