  1. Odd. Maybe someone broke into it.
  2. That would be like in public school
  3. Other than those being free is there really any legit reason to get one.
  4. They rarely die. I've got a closet full of PC parts. Poorly optimized software is what makes them seem outdated. I still have a FX6300. I'm not one of those I need 200 track project guys and try to put mastering plugins on every track. (of course I never get that far)
  5. The solution to that which I find very hard to do is to stop buying DAW software. I would hold off since hardware is too expensive for me.
  6. https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-5600x/p/N82E16819113666?Item=N82E16819113666&cm_sp=Homepage_SS-_-P3_19-113-666-_-03162022&quicklink=true $224.00 with promo code. Still a fan of these low watt CPUs. It also comes with a cooler.
  7. Perfect for storing your Soundpaint libraries.
  8. I forgot I even had it. Not sure why it is even necessary in today's DAW.
  9. i'M ON THE FENCE about buying CR8. I would have to buy 3 of them. I thinking you don't really need such a thing using Live for FL Studio.
  10. Amazing though that all of their 32bit plugins take up very small space. Toontrack and NI need to get with it. Updates are always flagged because you don't have the 32 bit installed. As for Melda I always download the license file to authorize if needed.
  11. Among hobbyist who do electronic genres, who prefer better licensing, they were never in the game. Steinberg finally gave into having more than one machine.
  12. Meanwhile Bandlab is free and works. It's visually more appealing.
  13. This is a most excellent post. With Kontakt player a developer really doesn't have to worry about distribution. The beauty of Kontakt is that the end user doesn't have to worry about machine limit. I've never had issue with machine limit with Kontakt player either. When people develop REs and Refills to be sold in the Reason shop, they take a healthy cut, rumor has it 30% for REs, 50% for Refills. The developer doesn't worry about distribution. I won't fork over large money that involves the Spitfire player or those other ones. VSL is the exception.
  14. You would be screwed if you had VSL libraries. Their replacement for lost licenses is expensive. I thought registering your elicensers on Steinberg was a fail safe.
  15. I think their updates are only for letting you know what offers are available.
  16. His feedback is always welcome.
  17. I feel the same way but it is VSL instead of Spitfire.
  18. It's a horrible option. More people are leaving and less are entering education. People think it has to do with money but I can explain it in 2 simple words - human doormat.
  19. I agree. It can be an expensive hobby. You can see there are differences in opinion by age. These are the last places I would ask for advice. BTW those requirements seem above the average high school education and more for students who had private instruction or come from private schools. Those look like basic grad school requirements. I would also think about community college. Colleges are a monopoly envied only by oil companies.
  20. The DAW world could use another bass.
  21. With the audio editing capabilities in the modern DAW one could use loops.
