Great cover, well done! The video work was entertaining and really complimented the song...keep making them like this Bill

In classical music the term for playing "free" within the time signature is referred to as rubato...I use it a lot in my solo playing, not always effectively! ;) Unless you are in a band recording situation choosing not to use a click is madness, doesn't mean you have to be robotic but you have a reference point to keep you "in the lines". I had a friend send me a recording he wanted me to "orchestrate"...they didn't use a click when recording so the timing is all over the place...a real mess to try and match, I told him my ESP isn't working like it used to...next time use a click! I'm a one-man -writing, playing, recording, mixing and mastering- band and a click track is a must...but I'm naturally off-time anyways ;) Bill

Here's something I started today...don't expect too much yet ;) Calling it For Never and Ever for now...Day 1 refers to this is day 1 of writing and recording! For Never and Ever(Day 1) Bill

TechnoNewAgeJazz...very cool mix of styles! The piano really elevates this, I enjoy your work Bill -
Thanks Bob! I'm a "hoarder" so this goes into the pile for now...working on a new album and I like to gather lots of material to pick through...with a little work this might be a keeper I actually had the guitars more forward but it was too much...I'll revisit that because I like the idea of emphasizing them...and the drums are low so they don't stand out too much right now Bill
-
Tight! I like me some good crunchy guitars! Vocals have a good "space" and the song itself has a nice hook, well done :) Bill
-
Yup, 'fraid so ? This is something I started last weekend. It's rough...distorted guitars need work(maybe re-recording), drum parts need to be actually written, needs a couple of synth solos...etc. Well anyway, it's called Transmission...receive at your own risk! Transmission Bill

No need for a third party translator...open your sf2 in Kontakt, then save and it creates an .nki instrument :) Bill -
Creativity is something you either have or don't to varying degrees. If you're creative you just have to learn the language and tools, if you're not creative no one can tell you how to be. If you want to work with music learn it...take lessons...piano, flute, guitar...learn some notation...study the fundamentals- chords, keys, scales, modes, etc. Then listen to your inner voice and speak :) Bill

Serious vulnerability in Windows 7 / Google Chrome
Cookie Jarvis replied to msmcleod's topic in The Coffee House
An operating system that changes your settings, deletes drivers, changes your Machine ID, etc. seems close to my definition of a virus I'm running Win7 Ultimate on my DAW and Win10 Pro on a laptop...my Win7 is definitely more stable. At some point(maybe next year) I want to build a new Daw...I'll go with Win10 Pro but I hope Microsoft fixes things first. As far as I'm concerned it's Microsoft's OS but my hardware and software! I created my own Lens called Default and it opens every project the way I want the GUI setup. I've never used screensets, can't really see a use for them. But to be fair I'm only recording in Cakewalk...my mixing is done in Mixbus and mastering done in Sound Forge. I'd just as soon be able to get rid of the Multidock and Browser, I have 3 monitors...lots of room for stuff Bill

Eugene, you're right! This just puts it in front of people who wouldn't know about HitFilm otherwise :) Bill

I started using the Gran Vista Black & Blue 100 recently, really enjoying it! Not a big fan of flat color schemes. Bill -
I have a sampler built into my Kurzweil(K2500XS)...used it to sample my drumkit...never had a use for it again. I use Kontakt in software now but don't sample any more though I'm thinking about creating my own instruments one of these days ? Bill

If you're using the same settings on your tracks set up a send instead of per-track instances of EQ and compression. Bill -
