Welcome back, I think. In 2020 you wrote:
On 8/11/2020 at 8:11 AM, Nathan Champaigne said:I use Audacity? Why? Cakewalk does not contain a wave editor. Should it? I can't even pull up a wave page in Cakewalk to make cuts or paste phrases into bars. What do I do with Audacity? I copy, cut, paste, manually quantize lyrics to a midi beat. I pitch correct single words or phrases, using midi comparison, bend or cheat. I'm a poor singer, with a voice that does not pass the test, so my goal is a completed song, with a voice that is tolerable, fixed if not potent. I copy whole vocals for accompaniment and change pitches into 3rds, 5ths, and 7ths,for harmonies or take the whole thing down an octave and fix sibilance. I'm a vocal fake. That's what music is today and I need the tools to accomplish this.
Cakewalk has a lot of wasted space in it's window structure. It's been changed from a workable original state as it evolved through it's rebranding and DAW development. DAWs have been relying upon plug-ins to add flavor to the mix, but something was lost from the original design.
Why does the pen disallow the writer to move the midi note around and simultaneously, why doesn't it also behave without an audible response? Why are the tools on a separate window instead of inside the piano roll view, or the staff editor? Why isn't there a full sized audio wave editor? Why do effects have to be applied to whole tracks and not words or phrases? Why isn't the tools I have highlighted in the image below included included in the piano roll editor and the staff editor? What happened to combine tracks, such that it is no longer simple as right clicking and clicking combine for selected MIDI tracks? Why is mix-down so complex?
It also too bad that both external and internal system syths can not be used at the same time. Also all DAW software brands on the market fail to disclose just how soft synth instruments are set up and implemented within their program structure, so for me, being old-school, I have no use or understanding of the need and use of VST instruments. You can't apply what you are not grounded in. The irony is that usually when I master a technology, I do some pretty innovative stuff with it.Now you jump onto a thread from 2021 with:
2 hours ago, Nathan Champaigne said:The one single problem with an online installer is you can not run the file through an antivirus or malware checker. It just loads and you have to trust that it's clean an unfettered with spyware or trojan businessware.
It seems you came back to complain about something not covered in the post from 2020. Why?

Like this but make everything that's gray white, and everything that's white black. I think that's what OP meant.
As the OP stated:
On 5/2/2023 at 1:32 AM, kmcintyre said:What I need to use CBB is a theme that is black on white (like 0x000000 on 0xFFFFFF).
Also, please note that the OP hasn't been around since almost a year ago when the initial post was made. Please note, I voluntarily removed my posts because they addressed other high-contrast possibilities (i.e., non-100% Black and White solutions):
On 6/10/2023 at 9:48 AM, User 905133 said:Since this is really a request by one person for a Black & White theme, off-topic content related to other high-contrast possibilities has been removed.
I'd suggest if others are interested in requesting and/or discussing high-contrast themes, that is a a different topic.

I didn't assume anything of the sort. If you took the time to read what the OP wrote:
On 3/25/2024 at 4:30 AM, DNnX said:Title says all.
It shows black GUI. Sound is OK.It works correctly in Cakewalk by BandLab, so it shouldn't be my installation issue.
BTW, I can also report that V-Vocal, Cyclone, TTS-1, GrooveSynth are working as expected in the Sonar.

you might have realized that I was simply verifying what the OP stated.
That being said, I think it's fair to say that if something has worked continuously in Cakewalk/SONAR and suddenly no longer works in Cakewalk Sonar, it might be of interest for the developers to know that PSYN II didn't make the transition into Sonar.
I made no assumptions about the cause; I made no assumptions about possible remedies.

Thanks but I have all the manuals. Can't find anywhere that my particular issue is addressed.
Glad you solved the issue. By the way, when I wrote this? and these? I was not asking, "Have you looked in this and these?" I was asking if this? and these? are the docs for your gear. Sorry if that wasn't clear. I looked through the first manual (this?) and didn't see anything that would help, so I looked for more manuals and wanted to know if I was looking at the correct manuals for your gear before reading through those, too.

On mine, tts stills not appearing. There's a "Groove Player"(i don't know what the hell it is) but tts is not there or any place. if you can copy the file and up to drive and send it to me will be more helpful than try to find where in my pc that gone. [emphasis added]
You tacked this on to a thread from 2019. Much has happened since 2019, especially in the past several months that affected TTS-1's inclusion in the current build of CbB (Cakewalk by Bandlab).
See the following thread. If you have an older version of CbB, perhaps you can find TTS-1. Not sure if you only have a version after which TTS-1 was dropped.
In either case, the 2024 thread would be a better place to ask for help than a 2019 thread.

As someone else said a long time ago - much todo about nuthin...
Per https://www.cakewalk.com/sonar#FAQ
I've heard that you can prepurchase Sonar if you're willing to use Bitcoin and that upon release a unicorn will personally deliver your copy.
I dunno... but it does sound more plausible that many of the reasons/arguments that are currently being espoused. It's a shame we can't do multiple emoji's. I'd do a "Like" emoji for the much ado reference; a "Good idea" emoji for referring people to the FAQs; a "Thanks" emoji for choosing a relevant quote that those with blinders on seem to be missing (some intentionally so); and an "LMAO" emoji for the brilliant Bitcoin/Unicorn allusion that for me gets at the speculation / imagination some people are responding to instead of the facts.

Wondering if Bandlab would consider open sourcing "Cakewalk by Bandlab" once Cakewalk Sonar is released. I believe that there would be a lot of interest in having it maintained and continued effort on bug fixes and improvements
If you are serious, why don't you make an offer / suggestion to Bandlab (the owner)? JMO: opinions of users in a forum are meaningless for an issue like this.
I cannot imagine anything good for anyone coming out of open sourcing Cakewalk by Bandlab.

I found the whole Discord platform to be a lot of people screaming about really nothing to do with any products.
Are you talking about Discord in general or specific Servers? I ask because any of the Servers I was on were very targeted, even the ones I left after deciding they were not for me.

Hello. I'm trying to figure out how to record Korg M50 combi sounds to Cakewalk. If you're familiar with the Korg, there are prog and combi sounds. I know how to record prog sounds (midi) but the combi sounds are composed of multiple sounds. I tried recording to an audio track but it crashes Cakewalk. To record in midi, I believe I'd need to create a separate midi track for each individual sound that comprises the combi sound, but I'm just not sure. So I'm reaching out to all the pros out there to help out an extreme amateur. Thank you very much.

If you have an older synth, try this which covers a lot of models, and it just might suit you.
If the synth you have is in here, you can create a new ins for just that synth from this file too, simply by deleting the unnecessary stuff. You do have to be careful not to delete any needed text for it to work, and I haven't done this in years, so I'm afraid I can't help with that!
Based on size alone, this matches the Roland.ins file I have from 2003. I have a larger one from 2009 and a slightly larger one from 2010. In my experience with other Cakewalk supplied *.ins files, later ones usually include the contents from the older files.
Before people start collecting a new set of *.ins files (and maybe overwriting larger, later, more inclusive ones), maybe someone should should check the newer *.ins files against the new old ones being posted.
PS: If someone wants to do a comprehensive comparison of older *.ins files with newer ones, I also have a Roland.ins file from 1998.

The E-Mu file is at least 2 decades old. E-Mu user groups since then used to have a contributed ins file that included definitions for all of the P2K Sound ROMs. Not sure if newer E-Mu user groups archived those, but they are available. Also, there are some P2K / Command Station editor / librarians that can generate *.ins files--useful for User Banks.

I should have known Larry would have beaten me - I just posted the same in the Cakewalk sub forum! Still there will be a few people there who don't look here and a lot more who look here but don't look there ?
I saw it there and commented. There's no harm in having it in multiple places. There are some people who don't go to the Deals Section or The Coffee House. As you note, there are some who would benefit from CCLarry calling this video to their attention.
Also, the Coffee House and Deals Forum often go into tangents which are appropriate in those forums, but might be a distraction from the value of Mike's tutorial in a Cakewalk forum. To me competition over who posted a deal first is an appropriate Coffee House topic. By the same token, sometimes someone will post a video in the Tutorial sub forum that might not be noticed by other Cakewalk users.

I like that he goes over features that I don't usually use / haven't explored, but might now that I see he pointed them out. Also, nice that he highlights some of the new features. Glad to see the content is about Cakewalk's features and not secondary to his personal preferences for another DAW.

You're absolutely right in questioning it.
I think it's merely the perception of value. . . .
Basically my f-ed up math is: Starting with 9, price was ~4.5 per plugin . . . .
Thanks for the clarification.
BTW I don't think your math is "f-ed up" at all. I do a very similar comparative thing with IK. If I have already paid multiple times to "own" 90-95% of a bundled set of products and someone owns just one of those, their cost per new product is a very tiny percent of my cost per product I don't have.
For X units of currency, I might get 4-5 products I don't already have, but for the same amount of money, others get 150+ products they don't already have. Therefore the deal is worth more (i.e., more valuable) to others than to me who already paid 2 to 3 times as much for the products.
So, to me, it's brilliant, sound consumer-oriented logic! ? And it helps me to not spend money that could be better spent!

That's too bad. I was hoping Ultimate owners would get it included like Melda and Kuassa does. I'm still curious about the decision to give everything away for free but the "premium" plugins. Their previous sales model was worked splendidly on me while it lasted...
The last I checked, Ultimate Bundles for Third-Party Voltage Modular developers also include new modules at no extra charge. There are only a few developers that have Ultimate Bundles and also make new modules (I counted three), but this is another precedent to including new modules.
In addition, some third-party VM developers have smaller targeted bundles (which are included in the Ultimate Bundle) and when new modules are added, they also get added at no extra charge to the respective lesser bundles, much like Melda does.
KV331 Audio does the the same thing with their Synthmaster Everything Bundle.
One of the hard lessons I've learned is that similar bundle labels from various companies that might imply some sort of completeness do not have similar consumer-oriented practices. JMO: It is a great service that forum members provide by helping others to see this.

99 upgrade here from Collection 9, despite (stupidly?) having bought Acid V separately on release and thinking it would lower the upgrade price a decent amount. Guess not.
If the default is 199 from 9 to X, then that simply seems a bit steep.
Not sure I understand your situation. If the only thing you added to V Collection 9 was Acid V and your upgrade price is now 99 instead of 199, you got a 100 off.

Did you see any additional wording like, "Please download and install the latest version / update?" If not, you could make note of the outdated build and mention the build number which doesn't have that wording.
