People like to bash IK to the point they even create reasons.
For the record, I have posted about legitimate issues I have had with IK. I have also posted praise for things I thought were good. I don't have the time to research and summarize all the issues I have addressed in the past, but to say there aren't issues (or there haven't been issues) and to accuse people of making up or to imply people of making up reasons is not fair to those of us who have posted honest, truthful observations and opinions.
"People like to bash IK . . . ." is a gross generalization that gives people without their own experiences with IK a false sense that criticism of IK is unjustified.
Before I had my own experiences with IK, I saw many positive comments in the forum about IK which led me to overlook what I later learned were negatives. I learned the hard way and wish there had been more comments pointing to the negatives so that I had more of a balanced perspective.
If there are statements in this thread that you are responding to (where you think forum members are "bashing" IK (or making what you feel are unjustified criticisms), please be specific and discuss the issues themselves instead of making generalizations like "People like to bash . . . ."

anyway,
I'll put [solved] here, thanks for the feedback!I noticed that you posted the same reply three times in different sub-forums/threads each instance being from 2 to 4 years old. You got my curiosity: What's up with this repeat pattern of posts in ancient threads? 🤷♂️

I hope someone saw that post, it's been a month and no reply 😏
FWIW: I saw it, but had nothing to say about it. I do remember thinking "radio button" but didn't think that added anything useful to the request. I assume others saw it, too.

As noted previously, I got to see Flash a few decades ago with 3 other bands--all stellar performances from excellent musicians with amazing material [Savoy Brown, Flash, Tower of Power, and Rory Gallagher]. I can still remember being there and recognizing the quality performances at the time.

Nice find. I can't remember the last time I watched a Sina video. She's been at home at the drums for a while. Definitely the group's own version of Tommy, but at the same time their tribute to The Who comes across very well and is a pleasure to listen to. Easy to remember the past and to listen to this fresh rendition.

I didn't post the following earlier for fear of impinging on a decent feature request. With all the posts since (and because the original polite request was made by @Promidi who--from what I have observed--is not adverse to polite discussions made with respect), here goes:
QuoteSounds good for software synths, esp. non-multitimbral soft synths. I just hope when its implemented, it doesn't mess up old school setups (hardware midi gear).

So I got an e-mail from Plugin Boutique and decided to check out KV331 Audio's site. I assume they have extended the sale to other third-party vendors. So if anyone is interested in upgrading to SynthMaster 3 (or even just picking up the SynthMaster Player or whatever related promotions they have), I'd encourage forum participants to shop around.
Disclosure: I've had the Everything Bundle for a few years and have no vested interest here. When I saw the $29 upgrade price (SynthMaster 2 to SynthMaster 3), I remembered when 3 first came out, there was forum discussion about pricing in part IIRC because the pre-release price was less than the post release price.
OOOPS: I thought I had switched to the Deals subforum. If there's a moderator who can move this post there, great!

Is it techno, is it melodic, is it industrial?
No, no, no (in that order). I'd call it "New Age Electro-Ambient Disco." 😉 In any case, it's a fun listen. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for solving my earlier problem, Do you know much about the editing of instrument files - I am finding it confusing and I don't want to mess things up.
Glad to hear! I used to edit my own using notepad for hardware sound modules (romplers and samplers). I never got into using the built-in tool. Personal preference--I just found it had been easier to cut and paste pages of preset names from manuals and to add the note numbers using cursor keys and the edit buffer rather than looking back and forth from paper to screen typing all those names.

Do you have any midi outputs selected [MIDI Devices]?
PS: As an alternative for the time being would you be comfortable editing copies of the older instrument definitions in Notepad?

For what it's worth, I don't remember which version I ended up loading but it was either 1.2 or 1.2.1. I don't believe that version was available through my legacy account but I found it on a backup drive.
The link in my account for Rapture 1.0 shows update downloads for up to 1.2.2. Not sure if I have that installed, if it works, or if its the best version, but it is there.

TOPIC: The engineering file crashed when opened on another computer [emphasis added]
11 hours ago, Amberwolf said:Since we have no information on what "the engineering file" is, or what is in it or how it is setup, we can't really answer anything directly.
11 hours ago, Happen135 said:It is a MIDI orchestration project that uses a lot of soft audio sources and FX plugins, such as kontakt, waves, etc. In order to avoid crashing, I installed the cakewalk, audio source location, FX plugin installation location, and version number on both computers exactly the same, but still couldn't avoid crashing.
You have my curiosity. What is the engineering file? Are you talking about the *.cwp file, aka a project file? (Not sure what your native language is, but I guess the word for "project" could be translated to "engineering.")

Yarrow’s contributing vocals in songs like “Puff the Magic Dragon” and “If I Had a Hammer” helped establish the folk trio as a pop phenomenon in the 1960s.

2. I add modules to the toolbar, but next time I open Sonar, the modules aren't there and I have to add them every time. Where do I go to save my toolbar setup across sessions?
User preference: One of the reasons why I like using custom Workspaces is that I can have my Control Bar setup for different workflow needs. Not sure if you use custom Workspaces. If you use "None" for your Workspace, I defer to others as to how the Control Bar gets locked so it's the same across sessions.

I have never used screen sets. I set up one today with the console positions I like. Now the saved (Console) workspace is correct only in this workspace. It seem like there is something going on between screensets and workspaces. Now all my screensets have no console view in them at all, except the workspace where I set up my 1st screenset.
I hope this info helps.
This came in as I was about to submit my post. It seems like we may be thinking along the same lines! Thanks for adding this.

There's quite a bit going on in this thread, and it's not clear to me what your specific issue is. Can you provide more detail, please?
Basically, workspaces overwrite your console to factory default when you load a song. It does not remember the space settings for the new console design. If I set up the console view the way I want it to be and save the song, when I reopen it my settings are lost because I used a workspace . . . . [emphasis added]
Thanks for this detail as it is useful for how I use my personal / custom Workspaces.
Previously, I have noticed a distinction between (1) the amount of horizontal space set up for the three section (tracks, buses, and hardware outputs) and (2) the location / selection of the tracks displayed within the borders of each of the defined sections.
I am assuming by space settings you mean (1). I will double check, but I do know that under some conditions I have to adjust the borders of the three sections that the Workspace set up on a per project basis--depending on the needs of the specific project.
I basically don't do much with per project screenset tweaks mostly because I don't have a very detailed understanding of the interplay between screensets and workspaces and it's easy for me to just just move the console section borders around on a per project basis as needed.
For my own needs, I will explore this more.

thank you. I have no idea what driver is being use. Whatever the default windows driver would be. If I open the Sound Recorder application in Windows, it sees my mic and it works properly. Thats all the information I can give as I do not know more.
I looked for the "manual" yesterday and almost posted the link in case it might help others to help you. But I figured that might be a bit insulting.
I have almost no experience with gaming devices or low-cost microphones / microphone combos except for a podcast mic I picked up a year or two ago and used to record a few things. I do remember having some difficulties. The operational range was very limited. I recommend trying to find the specs. IIRC the mic I got only worked with a sampling rate I haven't intentionally used since the days of Windows 98SE and maybe Windows XP.
Let me see if I can find the manual for you.
That was quick. It was still in my browser's cache. Here's what I found yesterday. Hope it helps.

I often move my folders with MIDI Patterns to some place in my Media Browser hierarchy to save time looking for them. Possibly that might work for your needs. Do you use the Media Browser?

I have purchased Musio with 2000 sounds. Can I import the sounds into Cakewalk Next?
(1) Look in the manual. (2) Ctrl+F for "Sampler."
HTH
Addendum: I just found a tutorial for Cakewalk Sonar's XSampler. While Next and Sonar are very different products, this topic is called "Cakewalk Next or Cakewalk Sonar."

Thanks for the reminder to run Sync at least once a month. I previously ran it two months ago (14 Nov) and needed to update two of my CA products (plus Sync itself, which also needed to be updated). Nice to see CA making improvements!
