A|A|S all Strum sound-packs half off welcoming the new Velvet-Chic pack.

The video of Thiago's jam sounds ok, at least for rhythm, but the audio examples don't have a lot of guitar-like sounds. -
IK Multimedia - Sunset Sound Studio Reverb - $29.99 (or less)
Magic Russ replied to e-cue's topic in Deals
They said they were including it in MB 1.5. I have 1.5 but the Sunset reverbs are all grayed out in mine. I have and use the TRacks version and rarely use MixBox, so I probably shouldn't care, but I still find that annoying. -

Isn't Sunset an addon for MixBox? -
Two AAS soundbanks of your choice with Beat magazine #219
Magic Russ replied to audioschmaudio's topic in Deals
Does beat have any options for being read as resizable/fluid text? I really hate that most digital mags I have come across are just big scans of the pages. On the other hand, I guess it makes it hard to say "the second word in the paragraph header at the bottom of page 88" when pages are fluid. -
Over the past couple of days Ethereal Earth , Session Strings, Sequis, have been updated in addition to Analog Dreams. Others may have been updated as well.
-
Also a few updates to Kontakt libraries for different minor things such as issues with author attribution. Session Strings 2 seems to have had an issue with sequencing.
-
Seven years of not having to pay for updates is quite the bargain.

It looks like you need at least 7.8 to run this.

How to use Pigments 5 as an effect in Cakewalk
Magic Russ replied to Hillmy's topic in Instruments & Effects
I have mixed feelings about the effect version requiring MIDI input. I suspect that in a large percentage of use cases, a person might just want to slap this into the FX bin. In that case, it seems silly to have to have a MIDI track just to hold onto a C note. However, you can use keyboard as an assign for things and use the envelopes. Also the comb filter takes in MIDI input, which can be used for some interesting vocoder like effects. -
It doesn't seem to be available in Arturia installer just yet... Edit: it's there now.

By my count there are 16 free for analog lab/pigments. That's not too shabby.

32 presets emulating the sounds of classic songs with varying degrees of success. Songs emulated include "Cars", "West End Girls", "Thriller", "Running Up That Hill", and "Wonderful Christmastime"
-
I think the verdict depends on what version of Kontakt you have.
-
Same for 40s Very Own Drums, Empire Drums, Karriem Riggins and I assume the other similar library that I don't have and can't remember the name of right now. Also curious they added all those effects and no mention of new presets to take advantage of them.

I'm curious why he didn't use the AC Box considering that's more like what Hank used. Also, does nobody get the concept of ducking their mic when they are playing? It's so distracting to hear the sound of his unamplified guitar coming through his vocal mic.

It looks like these presets are from Mike Dean (hip hop producer) Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park) Nick Hexum (311) Sadie Dupuis (Speedy Ortiz) Serj Tankian (System of a Down) This makes them a bit easier to find by clicking on artist in browser.

It would be nice of them to let us know which presets were added.

They haven't given me anything since v4 that I wanted, so where's the discipline required?

One more thing Bitwig and I seem to have a disagreement on... They seem to think a DAW should be a modular environment. They are proud of every little component and modulator they add. I want a DAW to make it easier to get compositions. I think the main point of the DAW is to help me get compositions onto drive quickly and let my plugins worry about making sounds.
-
There are a lot of things about Bitwig that are insanely unintuitive. For example, I don't think anyone who's ever used Bitwig has figured out how to do tap tempo on their own. (Worse, it was not in the manual) Even more annoying to me is that they don't have the ability to preview midi clips to the current track. You can preview a midi clip but it will only go to a sine wave generator. This is kind of useless when trying to preview drum clips because instead of getting drum sounds you get meaningless atonal notes (at least they are in the pocket), Other than issues like those, it does a decent job of filling in the place in my workflow where Project 5 used to be. There are a few other things I like, such as how they handle instrument and FX chains and the ability to have these taggable is a big plus.

I don't use the crush pack that much, except in Guitar Rig, where you can get some raspy fuzz tones out of it.
