  1. I’m also absolutely done WUPin. Was able to get my favorites WUPed up to the level where the GUIs were actually large enough to read (by completing a few collections on sale)….and that’s IT!!!
  2. Yeah, I do find very annoying that you can only have one version of Melodyne on any one machine. I was really ticked when 5 came out, since they were giving away the “improvements” to Essential users, but charging $150 to Studio owners ,their best customers, for the same improvements! Then , to rub salt in my wounds I could not use new features from an Essential installation without deauthorizing my Studio 4!!
  3. I’ve always used the non-ilock authorization on two machines. It’s worked pretty well with one big exception. Whenever the BIOS on my computers is updated, the authorizations are lost. You then have to go on their site and deauthorize the activations…then reboot and reauthorize through the standalone. I find their support to be pretty good actually.
  4. Melodyne Studio is great. OTOH I don’t think 4-5 was a huge update.
  5. I think he’s referring to the Melodyne Studio 4-5, not Presonus S1 4-5.
  6. Do I contact them to get the hot fix, or do you think it’s now the default installer on their site ? I can never tell which version is on their site site until I’ve actually downloaded and installed.
  7. Inflator still ilock dongle or cloud? If they’re going to stay ilock, can’t understand why they won’t allow machine-based option.
  8. I have all T-Racks except the new one, so still not sold that mixbus would be useful to me. If I could use jam points to reduce this to $35, I’d do it, but apparently this offer doesn’t allow use of jam points
  9. Hmm. Do any of you guys find ARC worthwhile? One of the few IK items I don’t have, and could make the move to Studio MAX at least a consideration.
  10. Oh well. Have bought so much on sale IK stuff over the years (other than Total), that there’s no way I can make this worthwhile… without trying to sell a bunch of stuff. Other than this compressor, there’s literally nothing I don’t have that I have any interest in. I figure within a year though, they’ll have a better deal on the compressor itself. Edit: I guess the only thing that might make it worthwhile is if I thought IK would continue to bring new plugins into the Total framework….free of charge.
  11. So, I was roaming on KVR a bit, and saw someone noting that PA doesn’t do a great job on update notifications (as is unfortunately true of so many companies these days). I remembered that they had done a major update announcement maybe 2 years ago, but couldn’t recall any others since, other than when they were offering a new product (eg. Shadow Hills red, after green). So for the heck of it I compared product page installer numbers on 3 random PA plugins with my installed versions…and lo and behold 2 out of 3 had been superseded. Rather than go further, I just ran the installation manager for all of my PA plugins.

    AIR Updates

I actually talked to an extremely nice woman there about BFD As nice as she was, she was of zero help, and then I got the survey too. If not for Drew on these forums, I’d still be flailing away.

    AIR Updates

Update installer for Hybrid3 on Windows doesn’t appear to be working here. Only options are “uninstall” or “close”. Like Fleer, I kind of like Velvet too. While I dig my Lounge Lizard, Velvet sometimes seems a bit more natural to me.
  14. Looks like I can get it at Plugin Boutique with either Audio Damage Dubstation 2 or Cableguys Drive Shaper thrown in for free! Errr……I must resist??….. Will I ever really use this thing on a project? (Rhetorical question…..obviously I am the only one who can really answer).
  15. Not viable on laptops?
  16. I know this thing can do all sorts of cool sound design things, but if I just intend to use it as a traditional verb, is it still a good deal at this price?
  17. If you’ve got R4, is there any reason whatsoever to get R2?
  18. Now if they were to only put the Melodyne Studio 4 -5 update on sale……Grrrrr
  19. Bottom line here is, ike Bandlab occasionally, it’s much easier to just download the update directly from the website and avoid updating from the Portal program itself.

    PSP Xenon

I really like Xenon, sound wise . The only caveat I have is that it’s GUI is too small and hard to read on my 15” laptop. I’ve been hoping that PSP would be adding a resizing function, but alas....
  21. So this is interesting. The migration successfully picked up one of the kits for me that was part of BFD Lite!!...the XFL kit.
  22. Yeah, tried it, but didn’t work. In certain of its earlier versions it recognized full BFD packs even if it wasn’t supposed to. I have the full BFD, but always found Eco pretty useful on my laptop. I’ve always loved the sounds of BFD, in general . The genius of Toontrack, OTOH, is that they’ve made their system absolutely seamless. Hoping InMusic is able to finally do that for BFD 3.
  23. I wonder if Eco will be able to read the new versions of the expansion packs. Hmm...I suspect not, but who knows.
