So Celemony....wouldn’t this be a good time for a 50 % off sale on the Studio 4-5 upgrade??
-
Close to pulling the trigger on this. I’ve never seen SynchroArts do less than 30 or 33% off sales, although they do have those from time to time. Since Celemony never gave me a good price to update my Studio 4 to 5, this might just be a better niche to fill.

I like Project a lot. Was never interested in Pro because, 1) for my purposes at least, it didn’t offer that much more; 2) price was too much for difference to me; and 3) dongle required. It looks like they’ve pretty much addressed these, but not sure if they’ve addressed 1 and 2 enough for me.

I like the Project version a lot. Last time I thought about getting the full version it was dongle only—a nonstarter for me.

I love this thing, but have stopped using it because it’s GUI is so tiny on my screen.

Sampletank expansions from Sonic Reality

Luckily I had already gone through that process for ST3, do didn’t have to do it again. -

I still use the various mellotron sounds from ST2.5. Part of their charm is that they are so clearly lo-fi. -

It makes little sense that ST4 does not allow you to convert these into ST4 ready files, but ST3 does. I understand why it happened historically, but it's not very consumer-friendly. -
Watched the new video of this, including update, and was immediately struck by how much sharper the YouTube image was than that of the v12 version of the plugin itself.

Brainworx Tolerance Modeling Technology is now Officially Patented!
LAGinz replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
True enough, but I think you missed my point. Fender stamps “patent pending” on a number of reproductions of older instruments or even derivations of older instruments because the older instrument itself had a “patent pending” label on it— not because the patent is still pending. In the case of Gibson, the term “PAF”refers to what is widely considered to be the holy grail of humbucking pickups because that original pickup had PAF stamped on it. Gibson (and even other manufacturers) have liberally used the term since to advertise that a particular pickup (supposedly) sounds like and/or used similar manufacturing techniques to the pickup that originally had that stamp on it. -
Have been trained to wait for a deal!!...but yeah, this would be pretty tempting.

Interesting-actually patented. A bit different than Gibson and Fender, who’ve gotten over 60 years of marketing invested in the terms “patent applied for” and “patent pending”. -
Actually this might not be so bad. While Gibson has had a number of quality control problems over the years, they’ve staged a bit of a comeback in the last few, with their new management. The new Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s are very good quality instruments, as are their acoustics made in Bozeman and Custom Shop offerings. And unlike the infamous sale of Fender to CBS back in the day, Gibson is at least a music-focused company.

Just bagged Zebra2 and Dark Zebra in the NI U-HE sale so couldn’t use it for still......another .....synth?
-
Haven't had much of a chance to probe Zebra yet, but the Dark Zebra presets are pretty awesome.

For the first time, I received a $75 voucher which I assumed would be useless. Looked at my account though, and there was a $100 price deal on Streamliner, So used voucher to buy it for $25.
-
Ok, made my final purchases of the season --Zebra2 and Dark Zebra for $150, Ironically, before the season I was intent on upgrading Melodyne Studio from 4-5, which unfortunately never got much below $150 ....and I didn't buy. The U-HE stuff turned out to be a much better value for me.

Very handy.

Platinum Samples Evil Joe Barresi Glamouflage Kit QuickPack for BFD
LAGinz replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I guess I’d agree with that. I do find though that there is a distinct difference between the Toontrack and BFD3 house sounds , and its nice to have access to both. -
Platinum Samples Evil Joe Barresi Glamouflage Kit QuickPack for BFD
LAGinz replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Not sure what’s in the “quick pack”, but the full Baresi pack, in my view, is still an excellent sounding pack. BFD2 kits can be used in BFD3. -
Yeah, never did get that Melodyne 4-5 Studio upgrade sale . Oh well....no sale no buy.
-
I like the Townhouse too. It’s got kind of a unique vibe to it. The Acme has gotten good reviews, but I’ll bet you already have a few excellent sounding optic compressors...no?

I’ve got a lot of PA stuff so choices have been getting a bit stretched for me here. For my second coupon ( after getting Fuchs using the first one) I decided to take a walk on the wild side , getting Sandman Pro for free. With the $5 left over on the coupon, I threw in BX Tuner to reach the magic $19.99 figure.
