  1. Probably a bug, who knows. It works fine myside on test though. I even test it with 23 tracks hidden, saved it as a template and project - works fine. Why things work for one user and not the other has been a mystery for years. To be fair: I've recently redone my entire system. All my projects, gets saved on an external drive. So it's really easy for me to always do a clean install every 6 months or so and to clean out all my fans. All I lose is about 2/3 hours to install everything again. The only software that are on the system itself is the DAW some VSTS that requires installation and an Antivirus. To scan files clients send and that about it.
  2. This was my first thought. To really checked this, try using AVC (Any Video Converter) or any Audio converter you might have to confirm what they say, by converting one or two Wav files to mp3 or AAIF and see if that fix the files (which I doubt,) but we're here to help so any information and idea will help right now.
  3. Make sure, that "Apply Workspace" are checked right at the bottom on the little menu box, when using workspaces.

    END OF VST PLUG-INS

Unfortunately, that would be a hard NO. https://forums.steinberg.net/t/vst-2-discontinued/761383
  5. Yes, Sonar Platinum Producer is now free. All those years paying for all that gadgets down the drain. During that time magical things happened in Sonar - Now called "Cakewalk by Bandlab" CbB for short. We have been fighting and eating ice cream through a lot of emotional long hours arguing with the new team and been sleeping on the couch as a community, giving feedbacks and ideas on and for this new product. We now have great new features, such as: • Articulations • Arranger • New tempo • New transients improvement • Better stability • New folders • New Export Windows Improved side chain abilities, and many other great improved features. And guess what? You can still use your old products with the new daw. Just install the version you have now available as Sonar and install Cakewalk by Bandlab on top of Sonar. Both are allowed to be on one system. How cool is that? By the way . . . welcome back to making music again.
  6. Ouch! ??‍♂️ Try copying the project folder to you desktop and delete the original one (leaving it in the recycle bin.) Next reinstall cakewalk and copy the projects (only) to the newly created project folder. Infact, uninstall the previous one completely and do a clean reinstall. You keep that copies safe far from harm - external. Worse case should this not work: you loose everything. ??‍♂️
  7. No. I dont think it's Microsoft or Cakewalk. It might have malfunctioned and had it's time, or, some other communication issue. I normally just buy a new one when all my attemps failed. I even went as far as to change the little USB adaptor at the back once after some tests. That worked for a month or so . . . Honestly, that window message box can mean a lot of things. ??‍♂️ Sorry I can't be much of help on this one.
  8. Won, too, tree, for . . . skip a few, ate, skip another . . . tan, twin tea, dirty, for tea . . . ?
  9. And the one in the Theme Editor? I see someone else used to too. See below. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cakewalk_(company) So i guess you can use it too? ??‍♂️
  10. In my experience that's a Malfunction. What does it say in Windows 10 popup windows right corner in the Taskbar? Unplug and plug it back in to confirm if its in both Windows or Cakewalk. Try different cables too.
  11. This is a first. So all your gain stage gets messed up? When this happens again: Try to check what happens to your hardware faders in Cakewalk. It sits within the bus pane in the console view. Just drag it out as how you would with the bus pane. (Although i highly doubt it is this.) But the volume change could also be because of your "high cpu usage." My windows system is capable enough. what files are you importing? Midi or Audio? Might be worth checking out your core usage too.
  12. You do realise that most DAWs requires you to setup all your hardware manually, right? ? You didn't even ask for help.
  13. Excellent! This new installer need to get more attention. Where are all those that were complaining that they couldn't install CbB? I think this installer (a direct link to it) should be mentioned or even better - be attached in every new EA release threads. No one is here then.
  14. Every envelope has a different level what it sees as "0dB." Some envelopes sits right at the top and bottom ceiling on it's 0dB others halfway up. Most of Cakewalks envelopes on its own stuff sits half up, where 100dB represent "0" and the top of ceiling that 127dB. I guess this comes down to the plugins/effects own built-in "headroom." I think it's only your time plugins thay sits dead center on the clip. ??‍♂️??‍♂️ I need to check this out.

    Cakewalk

There should be a download setup file in your DOWNLOAD folder that's bigger than 500MB. It should either by in its own CAKEWALK folder with all your EA files included. If not, you're out of luck. You'll have to download it from the other computer. You need internet connection anyhow to register it on the other system. Otherwise you wont be able to Save anything.
  16. Lol. Yeah well. If it works for some, hey, it works. But, yeah, I had to invest in one, i can't complain (business wise) that's for sure.
  17. Gladly! Are you ready . . . ? F . O . R . T . Y! What are we now 12? ? No! I'm not gona entertain you on this.
  18. Exactly. That how every heaphone is built today. From your commercial headphone right up to the high-end studio Hphones with some fairly noticeable than others. There were some recently that tried to go that route, but with epic fails and went rather commercial with it. "Beats"They have since corrected that issue, but kept their popularity and added deeper bass. It's how GOD greated them. Great little secret into how to should mix you're left and right hard panned Guitars or Vocals with every second one swapped. ? Unfortunately, does not matter how it's built your right ear will always filter out that lower registery for detail.
  19. I don't wana step on toes here. I just want to point out, this is actually inaccurate. I can name you 40 that doesn't, but that's not the point. Both are correct in this topic. There's both Windows and Mac in the business. One less than the other one in Major Studios ("professionally.") You can perhaps argue this with the "Home Studio Guys." perhaps more windows than Mac users - who knows. ??‍♂️??‍♂️But Major Studio - it's definitely Mac every where. We forget theres 3 worlds in the industry. The industry standard. The dedicated Home Studio setup and. . . The bedroom setup. I Myself had to invest in a dang Mac because 75% of the projects I get are freaken Logic projects. It's ridiculous! The other 25 are split between PT and Ableton both on Windows obviously. Dont ask me why, I don't know, i just go with the flow and grow with it as long as I get paid! Extremely Important! It's not because windows are better than Mac. My Surface Pro out performs the Mac (which of course is my Studio machine now.) Its just that "STANDARD illness " the industry believes in. Its still a Kane and Abel story. But we don't need Noah now.
  20. Nothing wrong with the Sontius Gate. It cleans vocals pretty good. I use it when recording drums too. Only downside is, its really tiny on a big monitor.
  21. ??‍♂️ Singing in the rain. ??‍♂️
  22. I had a mentor (sadly not with us today) that had the same problem. Here's the thing with the human ear. We perceive more bass in the left ear than we do with right ear. This is also true with Heaphones, it's how they're built. To test this: Listen to the left side (always the one with the cable connected) with the right side off and than do the same with the right side on the same ear that still receive good information. You will notice that the left side has more bass than the right headphone speaker, with the right headphone speaker having more detail in it. The point here is to start swapping the headphones out with monitors and always tilt your head slightly to bring your left ear forward. Manny Maserati does this quite often, but that not to say he is partially deaf in the right side. In a well treated room this will be more noticeable. I recently moved my studio to a space double in size in the backyard, that i had in the house and only starting to notice the results recently again after 5 months of training and adding more acoustic treatment to the new space, to achieve that equivalent of my previous control room. So don't fear using normal monitors. You just need to invest some time in finding the right volume that will work to your advantage and keep training. You wont find it in a loud dB level, this I can bet you. You already have a little advantage here and that is acknowledgement and acceptance on this. If mixing does not workout for you anymore there's always the availablity of focusing on composing and writing. You don't have to give up music all together. I'm going towards my mid 30's and I always try to help my peers as much as possible.
  23. ? This sounds wrong on so many levels. ????????
  24. Because i added Hifi and LoFi together, it created "My-Fi" (Mifi,) which was adopted by many around the world. So now "We-Fi" (Wifi.) But, I guess it's "So nit (not) us" (Sonitus.)
