Not really. If it doesnt need any form of EQ why use one. Also, one should not be using a hipass on every track. Its one of those tweaks you need to lookout for. Think i'm lying? Well, test it for yourself and keep an eye on your reading. Hipass bump up the volume on the band depending on your slopes. If you havw good monitors and a tuned ear - this will be highly noticable. So every single time you hipass you raise the peak level. Lower a volume slider or gain wont help much the peaks will still hit the ceiling. This is where a lowshelf is your friend. If theres nothing in the bottom region - why use a hipass and ruin the track? Best advice i can give right now, learn how level Peaks, RMS (root means square) and Dynamics work. Read up on some articles from well-known people. (Apologies to John) Not to downplay Cactus Music channel or walk all over his tutorials, you can learn a lot from his videos and obviously because John is a great guy, but dont read to much in to youtube videos. People there just tell you how they do things and not really tell you why or give you the technical side of things. Your levels might just be perfect, but your peaks are screaming as its hitting the ceiling. So equipt yourself with just the basic of knowledge in mixing and setting up mic levels with techniques too and invest in some decent "Flat" monitors that actually exposes these things to you.

I was actually thinking of buying a 27" but decided not too. It would've been big for me. I've hooked up CbB in the studio and at 4k on a 27" ultrawide Full HD - things were too small even at 1 meter away, though my desk is 1.5 meter in its vertical length which is a perfect distance for the sweetspot away from my monitors. The main studio is in my backyard. So, I just wanted an extra monitor to hook Cakewalk up in the extra room I use in the house. So the 24" monitor turned out to be a perfect fit and match for The Cake so far.

Perhaps its not 48000 compatible. Try running it in 44100.

I finally bought that extra monitor. 24inch at 1920x1280 and you're not wrong. It is right there on the edge, yikes. Almost like a perfect fit.

Yes, no issues with this series in AMD, but definitely with the 3 series and 7 series of the Ryzen series, which is weird. I had to return mine - terrible UI lagging issues. The reviews speaks loudly all over this thing we call the "Web of the Wide World."

Even though i'm not permanently in CbB anymore, I would still like it to grow in to a well-oiled DAW. It has all the abilities of 90% the requests made as "New Features" already at our finger tips, but they're locked. The one i'm making now is an old favorite I used a lot and occassionally still use everytime I fire up Cakewalk. Here goes . . . This is two requests as one, because they go together, but currently works independently it seems. So i'll start with the big one everyone keeps requesting, which is already available in Cakewalk - and that's VARISPEED! Yes, people . . . Cakewalk have always had the ability to do varispeed for years. I've always used it even though it was a real pain to create, but ultimately every single time I would get a perfect result. Requesting to have the pitch and the format/fine tune buttons as an envelope in the clip automation section on the track itself as shown in the picture. The second one is to have these sync'd. The Loop construction playhead and the TV has always been out ouf sync'd. Though, for some reason I can swore they were synced in X1 LE and X1 producer. This was many moons ago, so i'm not entirely sure if they were. It's an oldie, but it served me well over the years with transposing 808 kicks, speeding up short vocal samples and still retain its natural tone. It was a pain creating the effect and getting the timing perfect, but like i said - it was always worth it. It was my old secret in Cakewalk, but I think it's time we introduce it to everyone. Turn off your "follow global snap" setting in the PRV - under the file tab. I'm really lazy to make video right now, sorry | or | read the doucumentation how to disable this setting. Everyone working in the PRV should know where to locate this.

Everything seems to work flawless. Just did a comping test on some guitar transients to reduce some finger noise and to gain some headroom on snare hits | and | I must say: the results are candy! A perfect fix. Thanks Team!

Well, technically - if you're using a VSTi (Virtual Studio Technology Instrument,) that's a plugin. This could very well be the cause in the latency you experience in Cakewalk as @Cactus Music mentioned earlier in this thread. Not every Vst(i) works perfect in every DAW. The "very best Grand Piano" might run smooth in Logic, but not in PT. The Vienna Symphonic Orchestra plugin, might run smooth in CbB, but not in reaper. The same applies to how quick it is to create a sidechain bus/aux track in Cakewalk, but requires more clicks in different DAW. Every DAW has its own language and mood swings with certain things. Your job as the user - is to identify the issue and report it. What works flawless on my system, might not work favorable on your system. This greatly depends on the different specs of your system and how we maintain it. You cant use your DAW system to stream movies, or for graphic designing and to store all kind of things on it and still expect it to run perfectly. That's asking for problems. Upgrade some of your system specs, invest in a cheap laptop and use this as your home machine and keep the desktop solely for making music on. It is also recommended to have a seperate machine for your second DAW. Often this is also the case in point. Each DAW requires different settings for your sound driver. So everytime you open another DAW on the same system (including video editors etc.) they always change the default settings in your OS. This among many reason i can mention now create playback latency. So instead of continuously complaining about this, educate yourself on system tweaks and if you're still unhappy about it - nothing stops you from using the other DAWs you own | or | not. I run the same latency. There could be some cumulative windows updates that's causing your issue. It might also be some recent driver you have done. Theres also the possiblility of your antivirus slowing things down. It can be some background apps consuming cpu resources. Check any of these - if they pan out, then its a plugin you're using in your chain. Its always a cat and mouse game with this issue.

I believe you have answered your own question. Dont just think "DAW." You have to consider the plugins you'll be using too. Vst and Vsti such as iZotope and Omnisphere requires a powerful system.

If this is true: There's either some routing issue going wrong | or | it could be related to a specific "favorite" plugin you have been using for years. If it was a bug a lot of users would have reported this. Try replacing the plugins one-by-one and see if the problem disappears. If there's an improvement in your system - then you'll know its a plugin causing the issue. You can then report this plugin here and to its manufacturer for them to look at. A lot of plugins compatibility with CbB got improved this way over the years since Bandlab took over.

Weird indeed. Heres something even stranger. Everytime i opened the project, I would get a two second feedback of the drums which sounds like a delay. On play there was definitely an issue and as you've mentioned, toggling the interleave removed that, but also "bleeds" slightly into stereo - barely noticeble, but its there. Strange thing: I've replaced EZD3 with my AD3 and now I cant reproduce the problem anymore. I haven't done anything else, besides toggling the interleave back and forth and replacing EZD3 with my AD3 and back to EZD3.

How can this be happening again when it never happened in the first place? The OP's entire system packed up - so it was not linked to "The Cake" what-so-ever. You're issue seems to be plugin manager related, this thread was open on a BSOD issue.

Try cutting away bass frequencies by making slightly more headroom to correct the issue. Do this with the smallest slope curve your EQ has - around 10-30Hz. Do the same in with the highend side with the smallest slope curve and what i mean by smallest - lean towards the linear line, as apposed to a brickwall cutoff.
