  1. I very much enjoyed this. I would say "clever", but that sounds kind of trite. As the intro unfolded I was thinking there'd be some "fat" I would "trim" (three minuter rocker here, and the tune is 5:20). But you held me for the 5:20; well done! I might fuss with the melody and meter in places, but its your tune, your story; and I'm not producing. What are you using for the kick? That's the only crit from me. Otherwise ?'s all around from me. t

    A Black Hole

I paused at the 4 minute mark so I could comment and like before crossing over. SoundCloud interceded to "save" me? I was looking forward to it (crossing over)... t
  3. Jack, I had to copy and paste your link; maybe an issue in my firefox? Interesting tune. I guess the last 40 seconds was my favorite... t
  4. I thought it was the Bose cans. In a good way! Cool tune, other than the kick the mix works here. t I'll hold the like for the re-mix
  5. Right off the bat; Loved the Count-In!! As always, I love your stuff! 'Nuff said... t that bass tone is great; mind sharing?
  6. Love a good Beatles cover. t I don't ever recall saying this, but I'd pull the vocals down a bit.
  7. I've got to agree there. As to a "scratchy" pot; I was thinking more a "buzzing" fret. Could be wrong... t this definitely had a "longboard" vibe to it, so I imagined a long trip down gentle slopes in fresh powder....
  8. Some notes as I listen (bear in mind I'm on my Bose cans and they tend to hype the low end) Vision: I'd pull some low end out of the ambiance. Not familiar with the tune so can't comment on the arrangement, other than I'm sure it was appropriate for the occasion. Home: See above Farewell: Loving the mandolin! Nice duet. Seems less "cluttered" in the low end. Different verb? No longer a duet, lovely arrangement... Overall: Well played and captured. Solo Acoustic is the biggest challenge for me. Too bad this has fallen through the cracks; sometimes with multiple tracks folks move on? t

You never fail to bring the goods! t
  10. I think I've often said freddy j is a combo of Reed/Hooker. And would have been a perfect fit for Sam and Sun Records. But, Freddy J is Freddy J, and does as Freddy J does! Truly an original... ?'s t
  11. Agreed! Agreed! Thanks for sharing the details on the horns. I think a master class in horns would help many here; what say you? A cwp with some articulations etc.? t
  12. Wow! Some chops on display here for sure... t
  13. toe tapping and thigh slapping with a big grin on my face! t
  14. Loved this through the "rough mix" stage, still do! t
  15. ?'s! I spend quite a bit of time in the studio listening to reference tracks. In the office my "first call" is Devine Lie to get myself "calibrated" on the DT990's. I'm on the road and listening on Bose cans; this sounds (and looks) great! t oh, and I didn't miss that the video was running backwards there in the outro; very cool...
  16. I'm a little late to the party, so I'll just add my big ?'s up! That intro is so very, very good; love that bass (bassline and tone) and percussion. t one guitarist to another, and very cognizant of the fact that one's tone is so very personal; back off the effects just a bit. (I am a LP, coil cord, straight into a four input Marshall stack (I didn't jump the channels in those days) kind of guy...)
  17. Sounding good here Jack. More "bareing of the soul". t what's the time sig on that intro?
  18. ?'s t tried to leave some likes (G&L Blues too), but I'm on the road and can't remember my SndClk login

    ALWAYS T2

That was a great piece of gear, loved mine. Made some really bad digital recordings when I first transitioned to ITB. t

Sorry bout that. The 1884 continues to function in Win 10 21H1 (whatever the most recent update is). I use only the control surface functions, and the EQ hasn’t worked in ages. But navigation in the project and faders are “burned” into my workflow. The audio works fine, but I moved on to RME for the audio I/O years ago. Still a good piece of “kit” IMHO. t
  21. I think we can still work on getting a bit more "commercial" level Jack. But the good news; the mix is "clean", the listener can "turn it up". Very personal story line, well done! t
  22. I'm inclined to agree that this is one is "still in development". The bones are here, time to move it forward (bit abrupt at the end). I'm terrible with classifying "genres", so I can't help there... t

    Shirin

None of the buzzy (what I found to be "nastiness") in Distant Voices. Three minute rocker, so I have to agree with Steve, but this is your tune, your production; not advising a change. I was "in it" to the end. t

    I'm still in with the ?'s! t
  25. Its the genre, all good! Three minute rocker here so its hard for me to know if you've hit the mark or not. You held me to the end, so there's that. HTH, t
