  4. Lee I think this might get a little more traction in the songs forum. Generally I don't scroll down for the uncategorized threads here (and I think others don't as well) I have a pretty good collection of midi files for the bands you listed. Some better than others. Reach out with a list of what you're looking for. John @Cactus Music had offered a bunch of midi files at one time, but I don't see a link in his signature. Midi Hits is a good source of some generally pretty covers. On sale 5 for $19.99 at the moment. Lots of the rhythm tracks are very well done. GM guitars, so so. I've reviewed your tunes, could have fooled me... t
  5. v1.3 is what I see in my account. t
  6. I'll hold my "like" for the final mix... t
  7. I don't find it distracting. I think the guitar is working just fine. If you're playing for/to other guitarists; you're wasting your time. My only crit/suggestion, side chain the vocal to the brass. When you go to the V, the horns are walking on the vocal. ?'s t
  8. Correct, the Synth and midi must both be in Cake. Basically you are working with “external” synths. Are you using multiple outputs from the VSL computer, or a single stereo mix? Tom
  9. @Jerry Gerber Here's the screenshot. Notice that the track number for each midi track and their SoftSynth are selected (highlighted in blue). Then bring up Bounce to Track, select the appropriate Buss, (I'm assuming you use a MASTER buss?) or Hardware Outputs if you are sending all tracks direct to the interface. As said in my earlier post I create a Mix or Master Track before I bounce. You can Ctrl+A which will select all tracks in the project > Bounce to Track > select the Source Category and Cake will create the track and bounce the mix. You must have the midi and the SoftSynth tracks selected to bounce a Synth track; easy as pie Cake! HTH, t
  10. I'll post a screen shot for you when I get back into the studio this afternoon...
  11. You nailed all three, writing, performance and production. t
  12. ?'s ? Another good one! Great breakdown going into the final chorus. t
  13. I think maybe this is your strongest tune John. Very well done, solid in every respect. ?'s ? t tiny, tiny little crit; the first Can, in the first Can you see your way... , is barely audible. Too much de-es on the C?
  14. The verb is perfect Freddy. Another great one; Sam is smilin'! ? ?'s ? t
  15. Evidently the Klon Klones are selling like hotcakes at Stew-Mac. Just sayin'... t and its a kit so it would be your project du jour!
  16. Two “Cats” here, the oldest built in 2010. Still purring!! Can’t praise Jim enough! He’s the best! t
  17. Jerry I did the “loop back” via adat. I was surprised that the result was “offset”. You can “bounce” the entire mix, and select “real-time audible” and get the same results. The example shown, very simple compared to your compositions, is all midi for drums, bass and piano. The only recorded track is the guitar at the top. The great thing with Cake and RME is the flexibility. Find a workflow that “works”, and you have! Take care, and enjoy t
  18. @Jerry Gerber The LoopBack works fine here, however, the recorded mix does not line up exactly with the track; its about 65 samples early on my system. Kind of strange. Sync has always been "spot on" for me, but maybe both Cake and the RME driver are "compensating". I don't LoopBack when bouncing a mix/master. I "bounce to track" from the MASTER buss. Like this: As you can see all tracks are selected, and when the "bounce prompt" comes up I select the MASTER buss as the source. Cakewalk will create a new track, but I always create a track before I bounce and name it appropriately. HTH, t
  19. I guess all I can add is ?'s t
