I had all the early stuff on Vinyl (including Rats). Pretty extensive CD collection, including the first run CD's that must have been aggressively compressed; I find them "tiring" to listen to. Consequently I have many duplicate titles. When Hendrix passed in '70, Zappa became my new Rock "idol". (of course, I already had Freakout, Absolutely Free, Only in it for the Money, Uncle Meat, Burnt Weeny, Weasels, not to mention Vincent Furnier's Pretties for You, Easy Action, and who could forget the GTO's Permanent Damage?, or the good Captain and Wild Man Fischer; "merry go merry go, merry go round") t obviously I went over to the "dark side" early... ? or ?; yah?

@User 905133 What Kind of Girl do you Think We Are? was all LA based. The enchilada covered in pickle sauce was aimed at LA Police Chief Tom Redden; IIRC. It was quite a night. Thanks for the link t

On review of my box set, Physical Graffiti is discs #7 & #8 I just looked at #10 Coda. (I knew it was a 10 CD box set, mybad ?) Since that puts me at nine, I'll add Just Another Band From LA, recorded Live at the Pauley Pavilion; just so happens I was there that night... t for some reason I never caught Zep live

@Bajan Blue Nigel, should we be ashamed of ourselves for hording the Tranzports? NAH! The boys had their chance... t ?

This is your cover, so anything goes, but... IF you are trying to be "true" to the original your beat is wrong. This is not a 2 & 4 backbeat rhythm. Ringo plays a "train" beat. (keep in mind, its your production and anything goes) Also, way too much "grit" in the guitar. (IF you are trying to be "true" to the original) You did a fine job, but this is a "classic" and I shook my head immediately. Admittedly, because of my preconceived notions. (I've played this tune; a LOT) So ?, with the above stated caveats; IF you are trying to be true to the original... t and Tucson is pronounced Two-saan not Tux-sun and one more quick note: I like to feature The Late Great Billy Preston's rhythm part much more prominently, not just the solo... and no cover is complete with John saying:

Thanks for that, I couldn't find it; admittedly I didn't "look" hard. Quick review (I don't want to P on anyone's parade, but just keepin' it real) I hear a general thickening in the low end with basically all models; and this is at maximum. Also, I'm "seeing" about a 0.6 dB increase in level (I'm sure my knackered ears can't "hear" that) Now this is a vocal captured by a Royer 121 > Neve 517 (500 series pre/comp). I set the pop screen so I'm not "drooling" on the mic, but I'm "close". (Live, I'm soaking the "windscreen" on my '57.) Do I "love" the plugin, not $29 worth. Sorry, just keeping it real dogs... (as Randy would say). t Little side note: I sold a Sphere L22, back when they were scarce (so it held its re-sale value; but only just). It was a fine mic, pretty much the emulation I used was L22 Linear I think they called it. Why did I sell it you ask; I was under the impression I could turn it off axis and get stereo recordings. (it does create a stereo track that the software needs for the emulation, but its not a "stereo" sound field) I enquired about it, basically the response was "working on it"; never materialized. Sold an AEA R84, great mic, upgraded to the R88, which is the Stereo version. Now I can do stereo captures without all the hassle of setting up two mics; priceless!

Two things are essential in my little studio. My Tascam FW1884, and the Frontier Tranzport. Good to know you got it working in Win 11. Fingers crossed that when I move to 11 there's hope the 1884 will follow. I don't think this will last long. t why am I not jumping on this just for a backup? why am I asking vous...

Welcome to the forum Dave. A fitting tribute to your friend. I've said on this forum before, the worst thing a good dog does is get old... One little crit/suggestion: Some of the instrumentation with slow attack might best be nudged a bit forward on the timeline. Kangaroo Muse is a little more in my wheelhouse, dig the SG Jr. (double cut LP Jr's are a personal favorite of mine). so overall, a ?'s and ?from me. t

Interesting... Its all good! t

Is it just my knackered ears or is there some "wow and flutter" on the guitar track? Chorus or flanger, maybe? Reminds me (though not as extreme) of the guitar on Jumpin' Jack Flash (the two acoustics were recorded on a cassette IIRC). As far as streaming services, can't help you there. However, would be interested in the differences in the mastering for streaming. Also, I'm assuming the original mastering would have been different for vinyl and the CD; not the same master for both; right? t

Wow! Now that's a horse of a different colour! I am impressed! t

I "liked" it the first go round (here and at SoundClick). I still like it! ? t it would appear today I am the "big" little t

Please sir, may I have another? You've been busy Jesse, keep up the good work... t name that tune. "Now, if a six turned out to be nine I don't mind, oh, I don't mind If all the hippies cut off all their hair I don't care, I don't care" that is all...

Liked "when I kissed you goodbye as well" t will the social commentary go over their heads Jesse?

Welcome to the forum Riff. Got really interesting when the harmonics hit about the 32 sec mark. Hendrix used to warm the crowd up with a little "whammy gymnastics" telling the crowd: "We're gonna see what kind of sounds we can get". so a ?'s from me... t

Number one ?'s ?'s on writing, production, video editing, social commentary; et cetera. But let us not forget that "the times create the man woman, the man woman does not create the times". ('bout as far as I should go given the TOS here on the forum. Please, lets not go down that path...) t And a quick note, the link seems to be jumping to the 6 second mark. There's that little "box" you can ✔️ when you "share" to make the link hit a "mark"; maybe you checked it. I don't think I've asked before, should I refer to you as p? As in who is p? or whoisp? Serious question, not trying to be flippant or funny
