Check that your keyboard doesn't use midi thru in its settings. Also check that local control is off.

SOLVED: How to Split Keyboard to Play 2 or More Instruments?
Kurre replied to Stephen Power's question in Q&A
*Disclaimer - i've never felt the need to split the keyboard.* - I used 15 minutes to google it and edit the findings, this is the first things a came upon. . https://www.eareckon.com/en/products/freebies.html MIDI Polysher is a free VST plugin -With multiple instances of MIDI Polysher loaded into your DAW, you can create "zones" and control several instruments from a same MIDI keyboard (or controller). For example, you can link the upper keys of your master keyboard to a virtual piano plugin and the lower keys to a virtual bass instrument but there is more you can do with it. .. There's synth plugins that can split the keyboard. "Assigning MIDI Controllers to Xpand!2 Controls" In addition to pre-assigned MIDI controllers (such as Sustain Pedal and Volume), you can assign MIDI controllers to parameters within Xpand!2 for automation or real-time control from a MIDI keyboard or control surface. Please see your DAW's reference manual or other documentation to learn how to do this. Could be beyond your skill set, as you mentioned but it's doable. I love Xpand!2 and recommend it even without using kb split functions. -
A midi track with the midi clip/s should have midi out selected. If not check edit/preferences/midi devices and activate those that fit your midi device. Control that the midi channel is the same on both. Some hardware synths have midi settings. Check those. The midi cable could be faulty.

If your audio out goes thru an external mixer, that mixer could be the source of buzz.

How to turn of the Aim Assit [ANSWERED]

Probably a change in "workspaces". When things hide, that's the usual culprit. -
I often find it behind other windows.

Could be that your mouse is failing. Check with another mouse.

new USB interface - unsure of what settings I need
Kurre replied to Jenna's topic in Instruments & Effects
In the playback and recording section. Instead of wasapi shared, use ASIO. -
The SC-88 uses 5pin din. Your MAC has to have a midi-interface with an in and out 5pin din. From that midi out you attach a 5pin din midi cable to the SC-88 midi in. Then from SC-88 midi out you attach another 5pin din midi cable to the PC midi-interface midi in. It's the midi-interfaces that connect to the computer with usb.

Ok, i get it now. Multidock. I'm perfectly happy with the Default browser placement to the right. However as shown my divider is better placed. I can shift between top right and multidock without the divider moving to another place. Both screensets and workspaces (none) is at their default. I don't have any suggestion right now for a cure of your problem, sorry.
-
I don't get this topic? My browser have no divider line on any tab? Only divider is at the bottom against the help window. It would be nice with a picture to see what this is about.

Beginner help , still dont have midi playback (correctly).
Kurre replied to Mike Rothacker's question in Q&A
https://veg.by/en/projects/syxg50/ It can be used instead of TTS-1. However, it sounds can't be edited. It follows the GM, general midi, guidelines and have good instrument sounds. -
Ok. The soundcard works. The media player can read the midi information and convert it to soundwaves and pass it on to the soundcard that use your speakers to generate audible sound. There's nothing wrong about missing midi devices, you don't use any. You have a midi file not a device. There are three track types. Audio track handles soundwaves. Those can be played direct to the output, which is the soundcard, with default settings. Midi track. The midi you put here has to be routed to an instrument track. Instrument track. This needs an instrument plugin that take the midi info and convert it to soundwaves and pass those on to the output which is the soundcard, You can either route the midi from the midi track or put the midi directly into this track. It's this track that needs the input echo button to be enabled to hear sound. For instrument plugins you can use a free synth. There's a thread about it here -

Could it be so easy that you forgot the input echo button?

A usb cable reaches a longer way than Bluetooth. If you trip on the cable buy a longer cable and put it up high over your head. I use 10 meter usb cables without any problem. Bluetooth is also sensitive when it comes to objects blocking the signal. If you place your body between two Bluetooth dongles it's going to affect the signal between them in certain positions.

I've had read only problems. But only with a couple of windows dll's. I fixed it by going to security tab and change ownership of the file. In my case it was the Operating System that had ownership. Changed it to administrator and the options of write etc turned up. It seems logical that a cloud storage service would make the files read only. But it should change back the permissions when moved to the local pc. In this case they where moved to another cloud storage and when then moved to a local pc the last permissions where read only from icloud. Hope the ownership solution works for you.

Tracks start quiet but the next clip in the track is louder
Kurre replied to Nerviges Kind's question in Q&A
I'm not 100% sure about this, but here we go. Doubletracked instruments, two identical sounds on the same place in the timeline, often increase in volume. Which should mean if you take a clip from one track and put it somewhere else on the timeline it would not get that boost in volume. -
Did that ^^^^ solve it? The only thing that seems to have changed since CbB is DPIawareness. What happens when you configure it as a synth. Un-configure it as a tempo-based effect and un-enable DPIawareness?

Only keep an eye on if they're 32bit or 64bit. If win xp are 32bit you shouldn't (can't?) use 64bit plugins. If win xp are 64 bit you can use both 32bit and 64bit plugins.

There's transpose in the track inspector on the midi tab. It works on a miditrack that's routed to an instrument track. The instrument gets the transposed notes from that miditrack alone.
