I'd also say that companies that do regular free feature updates get my money too: Valhalla, Overloud, Nomad Factory are three who give away significant updates to their products (and curated presets in the case of Overloud, some of which are half-useful :-)), so I go back to them to buy other things of theirs because I know (think) they'll continue to do so, so I like to support them and I feel I'm getting a good investment.

This is why I use it too.

If I was working from things like camcorders, I'd be with you, but I'm doing videos for tunes, so always have the music first. Got it up and running last night (SF17 and VEP21) - both work after a bit of swearing to get them set up like previous versions in terms of UI and the like. VEP21 seems more stable than MS2016 which is a good start. There's a minor gotcha where audio tracks created in MS2016 have some VEGAS plug-ins assigned in the background hidden which VEP21 can't find (possibly after I uninstalled MS2016), but resaving the projects fixes that so not a big deal.

Funnily enough, I don't really use any VSTs in MS16 - I do all the work in Sonar/CbB and then import a finished track (including fades) and then build the video around it. But I'm hoping VP21 will be generally a little slicker and more stable. And I get SF17 too, which is an update to what I have anyway (SF15) and it was pretty cheap so I doubt I'll feel too hard done by.

My current "Vegas" always crashes (no dump file - just the Magix error reporting window kicks in) every time I close it but seems otherwise stable. Touch wood. I've gone for the 5 item bundle so will hold you responsible if I don't like it :-)

Maybe someone can help me with this as I've been "stung" before because of Magix's naming conventions for their video editors. I have - and use - Movie Studio 16 Platinum which seems to me to be the reincarnation of VEGAS. I also bought Movie Studio 18 and 22 at various times (good deals) but they seem to be a dumbed down UI and application, so I don't use them (and have uninstalled them apart from the extra plug-ins they came with). Which "family" is Movie Studio 24 a member of? What about VEGAS Pro Edit 21?
