I believe CS will unlock everything you own already. But we'll be screwed in another way, idk maybe no resizing (like it was with Tracks 4 > TR5), no higher quality audio or maybe no updated routings. Something must be left aside to make us want to pay for the update. I'm too staying with CS for now... And I'm OK. -
Bow down, armor-bearer

Is Cakewalk the best free DAW on the market
chris.r replied to dappa1's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Part of fault is on Windows as an OS, as they have been ignoring developing a stable audio engine for so many years, even today if I want have to use WASABI mode, I get different latency output in preferences every time I launch Cakewalk. -

yep, this plus: Improved chains with custom routing options makes it even more interesting also for non-guitar applications -

From the spec: Stereo signal path makes it suitable for any type of instrument including drums, keyboards, vocals and more that's a good step forward, still no way to use the gear as a simple plugins outside Amplitube engine, which I find it to be an excellent idea if they let us, just like with T-Racks modules and there was an "issue" I had that if I wanted to use the TERC chorus on an electric piano plugin with stereo outputs like most of them nowadays, the TERC would simply collapse the signal first to mono before processing (I was digging in the web to find out more about it and indeed the hardware instance has only a mono input), my naive thinking is IK could quite easily expand that functionality to stereo in the digital domain but I don't really expect it to happen, waiting to confirm I'm wrong on this -
Not yet, in 3 hours.

And there's this foolproof MT Power Drum Kit 2 http://www.powerdrumkit.com/

Been there, saw that too...

That's only one step to WUP-o-philia... I'll get you a coat.
-
So do you know if it's Cakewalk or Waves issue?
-
I've never WUPed my Waves plugins, that's why I now have all versions from 9 to 11. But there is still one or two more plugins that I plan on buying so there will be V12 joining the collection one day not to soon...
-
That's a whole lot of new plugins to be WUPed next year
-
That's the one we're getting free on this year's Black Friday/Christmas for our ever growing WUPping collections? p.s. With this one I might find the courage to record my wife, finally.
-
And I hate WUP.... Anybody with me?
-
That's good to know, thanks.
-
If you WUP them does it mean they get upgraded to v12? Will they still open and play fine in projects where they was previously used as v9? I'm wondering if I upgrade my v11 plugins that are still in the grace period, will they then open and play fine as a new v12 versions in my projects created while they were still v11. Hope that makes sense. I had a problem in the past with updating waves plugins between some v9 editions, like v9r03->v9r06 or something like that, they wouldn't want to open in Cakewalk and I had to reinstall the old version, save presets of the plugins that were used in my project and then reload these presets in the new versions. Sick.

I had one installer placing the plugin dll in a subfolder in Program Files and all the files that should go into Program Files went to my Vstplugins folder. Go figure out!
-
^^At that price I'm buying 1,5 of new Waves plugins on occasion , no idea why should I pay for them second time.
