  1. Personally, I would more expect that any new technology brought up in the new version, like VIR, would be paid. Someone is spending much of his time and effort to achieve it and create new gear of higher quality, there's no big reason for giving it away as an update (although some developers can afford to do it). So for us customers, something like VIR and the new gear would be the core benefit when upgrading, and it's understandable if we have to pay for it. Giving it for free would be a bit too altruistic . On the other hand if there are new/updated functions that everyone simply expects them to be there in the new version in nearly 2021, the new GUI, resizing, new routing possibilities, and since they are backed in into software already, I would expect them to be unlocked in the free CS version. That's an update, to me it's more like improving some old shortcomings of the software rather than adding something new to the table. These features are already there in the software so why locking them up, it's a very distinctive, peculiar move. Edit: this is my subjective point of view of course ... and I still like my IK plugins. Edit2: obviously I would prefer to have the sound upgraded in new CS version in the first place rather than GUI/routings just don't expect it happen
  2. Based on demos it does sound good. Wondering how is it different from my Korg Odyssey vsti?
  3. I think I have read AT5 will install alongside AT4.

    Waves IR-L Free

You were right Pete, and I could subscribe now
  5. There is this new AT5 CS announced, so probably new GUI is to be expected but probably no resizing etc. I remember how it was with Tracks 4 CS > TR5 CS, there was new GUI but nothing more beside it which was really pointless for me because Tracks 4 was 0,5 GB of weight and TR5 is above 1,5 GB so I simply kept the former. Once they add AT5 CS in my account I hope the new updated routing will be available, if not there's probably nothing compelling for me to install it. New glossy GUI vs additional GB of size is not gonna make me update.

    Waves IR-L Free

I get "Sorry there was an error processing your request" and I end up in infinite subscribing loop.
  7. Btw funny how my glossy vibey mighty AT4 (almost everything) collection suddenly became meh like on finger snap the moment AT5 had beed announced
  8. I believe CS will unlock everything you own already. But we'll be screwed in another way, idk maybe no resizing (like it was with Tracks 4 > TR5), no higher quality audio or maybe no updated routings. Something must be left aside to make us want to pay for the update. I'm too staying with CS for now... And I'm OK.
  9. Hi, I'm Chris and I'm too a chronic group buy regular. Thanks for having me in your group, and yeah... see you at next session!
  10. are you using ccleaning by a chance...?
  11. I think SLAX was made by Sonic Anomaly, but their webpage doesn't work anymore http://sonic.supermaailma.net/
  12. Is this the same old one from previous years?
  13. Absolutely! That's why we believe he won't mind a bit of fun...
  14. Part of fault is on Windows as an OS, as they have been ignoring developing a stable audio engine for so many years, even today if I want have to use WASABI mode, I get different latency output in preferences every time I launch Cakewalk.
  15. yep, this plus: Improved chains with custom routing options makes it even more interesting also for non-guitar applications
  16. From the spec: Stereo signal path makes it suitable for any type of instrument including drums, keyboards, vocals and more that's a good step forward, still no way to use the gear as a simple plugins outside Amplitube engine, which I find it to be an excellent idea if they let us, just like with T-Racks modules and there was an "issue" I had that if I wanted to use the TERC chorus on an electric piano plugin with stereo outputs like most of them nowadays, the TERC would simply collapse the signal first to mono before processing (I was digging in the web to find out more about it and indeed the hardware instance has only a mono input), my naive thinking is IK could quite easily expand that functionality to stereo in the digital domain but I don't really expect it to happen, waiting to confirm I'm wrong on this
  17. And there's this foolproof MT Power Drum Kit 2 http://www.powerdrumkit.com/
  18. That's only one step to WUP-o-philia... I'll get you a coat.
  19. So do you know if it's Cakewalk or Waves issue?
  20. I've never WUPed my Waves plugins, that's why I now have all versions from 9 to 11. But there is still one or two more plugins that I plan on buying so there will be V12 joining the collection one day not to soon...
  21. That's a whole lot of new plugins to be WUPed next year
