Valhalla DSP releases ValhallaDelay v3.0 - Two new delay modes: Chrome Tape and Analog 26th November 2024 - KVR Audio News Valhalla DSP has announced the release of version 3.0 of ValhallaDelay, featuring two new delay modes, Chrome Tape and Analog. Version 3.0 is a free update for ValhallaDelay Owners. Analog: More Real Than Real Analog is a bucket brigade echo model, but with some modern twists. It uses a companding BBD model like the original ValhallaDelay BBD mode, but with 2X the frequency bandwidth, 1/2 the noise, and a new saturation model that sounds closer to thicker BBD units. Analog is far brighter than a real BBD device, but less bright than a digital delay. This ends up being a perfect frequency balance for delays, choruses, and reverbs. Dark enough to have character and cut away the obnoxious high frequencies, but bright enough to avoid the murk. We've been using Analog nonstop in house for our own musical work. It might be our favorite mode in ValhallaDelay. Chrome Tape: More Reel Than Reel Chrome Tape is very close to the original Tape mode in ValhallaDelay, but with the feedback noise greatly reduced and the tape splice artifacts eliminated (the tape splice artifacts will be removed in version 3.0.1). This makes Chrome Tape a less accurate model of old school tape delays than the original Tape mode, but also is a response to users that like the sound of Tape but want less artifacts. Cableguys have released version 3.5.3 of ShaperBox, their rhythmic effects plugin for "creative mixing and rhythmic inspiration". They have also released version 1.0.1 of Snapback, "the instant drum layering effect". Changes in ShaperBox 3.5.3: Improved: Saving and loading FXPs via the Main Menu now remembers the last used folder, and the file name is pre-filled with the current preset name. Fixed: MIDI notes generated by the MIDI Out feature were not correctly latency compensated. Fixed: Using the Global Audio Trigger configuration via the Oscilloscope module caused the graph to be incorrectly sized and multiband controls to appear. Fixed: Double-clicking Release or Auto Makeup's 'A' icon would reset the underlying slider to its default value. Great news but… I’m going to wait till after this weekend to do the firmware update and let the 1st wave of adopters validate that it’s stable. Also I dont need a firmware update to crash in the middle because of bandwidth issues due their website getting swamped.

I've come to realize that Plugins are the NFTs of musician's world, they differ in that with plugins you don't need BitCoin to purchase your work of digital art NFT's don't require constant maintenance such as upgrading no one (as far as I know) has tried to turn an NFT into a subscription service software becomes obsolete, don't think that applies to NFTs... *Note - this is not a comment/discussion on Bandlab or Sonar so please don't turn it into one - go whine somewhere else.
