Overloud TH-U Supercabinet on Sale – Five Days Only
TheSteven replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Overloud's website is back up but still having some issues - for example support page is still broken (can't submit support tickets) and every page change forces you to accept cookies. Extremely irrating. The SuperCabinet is included for free into the TH-U Premium license, or can be can purchased the SuperCabinet as an individual product. In this case, it comes with the following TH-U models: Rig Player Darkface '65 - Amp (based on an American Twin*) Rock '75 - Amp (based on a British 800) Modern CH3 - Amp (Recto) 1x12 Clst UK - Cabinet 2x12 OB Darkface '65 (US) - Cabinet 4x12 Modern (US) - Cabinet SDrive One - Distortion Pedal D-Delay D-Reverb CHR-2 Parametric EQ Noise Gate SuperCabinet is included in version 1.4 & later of TH-U Premium but not as a stand-alone - you have to add it to your gear chain to access it which IMHO is lame. -

Overloud's website seems to be down... (not just the supercabinet page) https://www.overloud.com/products/supercabinet You can buy it through KVR, I just wanted to check out the specs directly on the Overloud site. -

One change is now it shows upfront what iLok installs you have (computer, dongle, etc.) and you can easily deactivate the duplicates (yay!). Not sure what else has changed but now it says there are updates available for ALL my Softube plugins.

Harrison FREE DeEsser Plugin Update Plus FREE iLok Upgrade
TheSteven replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I got same email but for a different plugin. Problem is that I used different email accounts for SSL & Harrison. Harrison doesn't give you the iLok code when to purchase your free replacemnt so I guess I'd need to somehow log into the SSL download manager with credentials for another account (my Harrison credentials). Waaay too much work for a plugin I wrote off ages ago. -
Also updated: Falcon Factory Plate Relayer possibly others...

Seems like UA turned off the upgrade deals where your past purchases gave you further discounts when they killed the $14 coupon combos. I suspect they were experimenting with different marketing schemes (or maybe just needed a short-term revenue boost). I'm hoping that they come up with some enticing BF deals for the new plugin versions that just hit (yes I know that technically they're on sale now) or otherwise like someone suggested I'll just wait.

Cherry Audio PSP Ultimate Modular Col Software Plug-In Download for $33
TheSteven replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
You're leaving out a number of others - for example AAS MULTIPHONICS CV-2, u-he Bazille, Madrona Labs Kaivo, Reason Studios Complex-1 and even NI Reaktor 6 Some are closed systems, some have 3rd party support, some (like Reaktor) have a large user base and a crapload of stuff like patches & modules (Reaktor Blocks) available. I don't think there is a clear winner but you might have some clear preferences. I personally went with VM because (at the time I checked it out) It's seamed more open (in terms of 3rd party modules) Low cost of entry, low cost of adding 3rd party modules. If I was just now buying into modular now not sure what route I'd take. I still might go the same route or being a u-he fanboy I might just go the Bazille route, but there's plenty of options. Owning Reaktor (as part of Komplete) and with the wealth of free resources available it might have made the most sense to go that direction. Your homework assignment @mister_tea is to study ALL to options and report back on your personal preferences. See you in a couple of weeks if not months. -
Cherry Audio PSP Ultimate Modular Col Software Plug-In Download for $33

It's a great collection - if you'll use it. I.E. it's part of the Cherry module system, not a plugin. -
^I don't need to wear shades... I don't see what's in front of my face as it is.

Heavyocity HURRY—Our Biggest Sale of the Year Starts NOW
TheSteven replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Yes NI deal was better for a lot of their library. IIRC the NI sale bottomed out at 50% discount and it didn't include Fury and had the same (or close) pricing for NOVO, FORZO, VENTO. (If my memory is wrong don't be embarrassed to call me out) -
Is there a trial version out yet for the release version? I see it mentioned in the email and web page but... I'm not finding a link.

Fury For $49 - lowest price I've seen. Previous low was, IIRC, $79 same as the intro price. https://heavyocity.com/product/fury -
Nice mics. I have the old non-SL Bluebird and love it. Great vocal mic. Here a SOS review: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/blue-essential-sl

Sounds nice (web sound clips & Simeon's video) just wondering if this (VB3-II) offers anything over either the IKM version or the UA version?
-
Signing up gets you on their email list i.e. to be notified. As @BTP mentioned "You have to be fast on 24th to get the plugin." What a crock...

Hi Larry, For multitrack they weren't wrong (sonic wise) as 2" 16-track has the same specs per track as 1/4" 1/2 track that was used to mix masters. That studio was Mystic Sound on Selma (which ran parallel between Hollywood & Sunset) & Vine in Hollywood. We had an Ampex MM1000 2" 16track ran at either 15 or 7.5 ips. Also had a swapable headstack for 1" 8 track. Mixing console was a Spectra Sonic Spectra Sonics Model 1012 Control room monitors: JBL 4320 If you'd like to discuss it further we probably should discuss it in a PM or open a thread in the Coffee House

It looks like there may be a lot of control for muting but it's only briefly touched on in the walkthough (a couple of seconds) Maybe someone who has it can comment further... muted single notes:

posted Wednesday... As commented on the other thread - upgrade prices aren't as tempting as last year but who's to say if/when they'll hit that price again.
-
I don't recall a FabFilter upgrade ever being cheaper than the price you'd get directly from FabFilter...
