If the documentation doesn't help you then you are on your own to figure it out. What particular issue are you having? When I solo a track it solo's and that is the only track I hear, unless I have "dim solo" enabled. Mine behaves like is documented below. https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Playback.14.html

I must be missing what you are seeing. Are you saying that when you add a Key/meter change using the "meter/key" screen that it adds two key changes? One bar of a key change that you inserted and then adds another key change back to the original one? The key/meter change doesn't actually transpose existing midi notes. It just is a visual indicator of your desired key. The meter changes the metronome counting. https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Recording.04.html

If you click "Views->meter/key " to see the list of meters and keys you can edit and see if there is one after the one you inserted causing it to revert

Make sure the clip you are opening is not locked or muted. You also may want to try to create a new clip to see if it exhibits the same issue or if it is just that clip that cannot be edited.

Vocals clipping badly , how to cure ?
reginaldStjohn replied to RICHARD HUTCHINS's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
If the vocals were recorded that way, and it looks like they were, then there is not much you can do. The clipping is part of the wave file and cannot be removed by just by turning the volume down. There are tools that can help, Izotope RX, to mention one, but they are comparatively expensive and won't completely remove the artifacts. The best option is to re-record them. -
Well, first of all it looks like you are trying to record guitar into the mic of your laptop? That is not going to produce any good results. Second, if you want to hear the input then you have to click the "input echo" button that is on each track. However, you will get feedback from your speakers into the microphone. You need to use headphones when recording. There are some good video tutorials in the tutorials section of the forum. that will help you get started. In addition, reading the documentation is always a good place to star.

I've resorted to only playing "tricks" on the guitar since I can't seem to master the normal way.

Weird MIDI 'Hit' When Transport Stops
reginaldStjohn replied to AndyB01's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
It could be related to "zero controllers on stop" setting. Try toggling it and see if it helps -
Just a suggestion. Go into the plugin manager and do a rescan VSTs.

Please post this in the "Feedback" Subforum. That is were feature requests go. https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/forum/8-feedback-loop/

CAN'T NAVIGATE TO PROGRAM FILES IN THE BROWSER
reginaldStjohn replied to charles kasler's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Submit a crash dump to support@cakewalk.com -
You can either select all the midi tracks and the select "bounce to Track" or you can hold ctrl down (Quick group) and hit the freeze button on one of them https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Mixing.06.html https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=NewFeatures.019.html

I know you mentioned Workspaces. Can you double check that you don't have a locked screenset? That is the only thing I can think of other then there being a bug.

Collapse All Tracks in Track View?
reginaldStjohn replied to musikman1's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
The method you mentioned is one way to do it. Another is to use Auto Track Zoom. This will have all unselected tracks be at your desired size and the selected one be a different size. By resizing any of the unselected tracks, all the unselected tracks get resized. I know of no "collapse all tracks" command. Even if there was what size would they be? I guess cakewalk would have to determine some minimum size to make them. You could always make this a feature request in the request subforum. -
Automation , Keystrokes, Macros
reginaldStjohn replied to steve@baselines.com's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
You would have to use an external program like Autohotkey. Cakewalk does not have macro recording or playback -
Yes, they are better in general then the TTS1 and have more features.

Melodyne Region FX Clips Not being created for some clips
reginaldStjohn replied to Bill Phillips's question in Q&A
Another thing to try. Bounce the clip to clip. Then try it. I have had times were a clip wouldn't work correctly until I bounced it. -
You would have to search for the files on your hard drive to see if they still exist. If you can find them you can drag them in or point to them when opening the project. If you can't find them then I am afraid you are out of luck. The waveforms are just saved images that represent the audio, they don't directly point to the audio. They are cached so they can still be there even if the audio does not exist.

Thats the way comping was designed. Without a split where one take ends there is not way to comp the other takes together consistet with the comping system. I am one that actually doesn't mind the splits since I use the take lanes exclusively for comping. They are easy enough to "heal" with a swipe as well.

You might have to do a bit more trouble shooting. Do you have a saved version of the project where the marks are correct? If you revert to that version see if it happens again. Try to note what you were doing or do if it happens again. You could also upload your project to support@cakewalk.com to see if they see anything strange with the project itself.

We will need more information to know how to help. What audio interface are you using? What driver mode and buffer settings? Where are you playing back the audio file, imported into a track or previewing it in the browser? Have you looked through any of the troubleshooting guides? http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Troubleshooting.01.html

My experience has been that working with the take lanes to do anything other then comping takes, and even then at times, can cause problems. I wish the take lanes worked without bugs but they seem to have quirks that hinder my workflow. For now I try to move to do all my work in tracks so I don't see these problems. Sorry, not at fix for you just expressing sympathy and my workaround.
