  1. I tried all of those here and they all work as above. (PC as per sig) Don’t forget that, by default, workspaces can have keybindings that are specific to that workspace. Personally, keybindings is one item that I tell workspaces not to load. I prefer (and use) global keybindings. I have many custom keybindings and when I make change, I do an export to a KBN file. I also make a regular reg file to backup up my keybindings.
  2. .....and the answer I got was this. “It is not entirely necessary to have Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime installed for activation purposes as, if you have other programs that require the Runtime, then it is best to have it installed.” So looks like I was wrong about webview2 being needed for activation.
  3. I have asked this definitive question of Cakewalk support. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “Are you able to tell me what Cakewalk by Bandlab functions would not work as a result of not having a working Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime installation. Especially, would that break Cakewalk by Bandlab activation?” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4. Not sure about Edge, but you definitely need Webview2 for CbB's activation. I suspect that because CbB2023.09 changed the activation server, they also changed the Webview2 requirement to the 64bit version. I believe that once you get a successful 64bit Webview2 runtime installation, CbB should activate. I believe that’s that’s your show stopper.
  5. To me, this is looking like a Windows 7 issue specific to your PC. I believe because the 64 bit version of the WebView2 Runtime won’t install on your Windows 7 PC, you won’t be able to activate CbB 2023.9. Maybe there is a policy on your PC that is preventing Edge (and hence Webview2 Edge Runtime) updates. I know you won’t want to hear this, but maybe a reinstall on Windows 7 is needed. I said this because a complete uninstall/reinstall would mean losing all your Cakewalk settings and they will revert to default. More so, I am not even confident that even this will solve your issue, as Cakewalk’s installer will still try to install the 64 bit WebView2 Runtime (which will fail). Do you have a trusted person with technical expertise who can have a look at this for you?

    midi

It works in standalone so I am assuming you have the guitar sim MIDI learn set up properly (or know how do set it up). In CbB, you need to enable “MIDI in” on the guitar sim plugin Then create a MIDI track with your midi keyboard set as its input, and the guitar sim as its output. Make sure input echo is enabled on the MIDI track.
  7. A full uninstall and reinstall of Cakewalk, complete with registry clean, is a bit nuclear and a bit last resort (I would not be trying that just yet). If you do want to go down that path, here are the instructions https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034066393-Clean-Install-Cakewalk-by-BandLab Uninstalling Cakewalk from programs and features should not lose settings. Did you try installing the X64 version 109 from that link I posted? (The one you want is the 2nd one down on the list - Build 109.0.1518.140) https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=webview2 Runtime version 109 Just to confirm, have you set a default browser in Windows 7? https://www.groovypost.com/howto/change-default-browser-windows-7/
  8. I just had another thought. Even though I said the stand alone is the one you want, I am reconsidering that for your situation. Maybe try the stub. The webpage says that the stub is a tiny installer that “downloads the Evergreen Runtime matching device architecture and installs it locally” Maybe because you are running Windows 7, the “matching device” might be different than for Windows 10 (which is what I have) I also found this: https://news.thewindowsclub.com/microsoft-edge-and-webview2-runtime-will-no-longer-support-windows-7-8-1-107894/ You may be able to download version 109 of the webview2 runtime from here https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=webview2 Runtime version 109
  9. Try installing as an administrator. The Boostrapper is a stub, and the Standalone installer is, well a Standalone installer ie full installer. The Standalone installer is the one you want.
  10. Try uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. The latest version can be downloaded from here. (Under Evergreen Standalone Installer > X64) https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/#download-section
  11. If you already own some Eventide products, you may be eligible for a crossgrade price. See: (will need to log in with your Eventide credentials) https://www.eventideaudio.com/upgrade/?product=Blackhole+Immersive
  12. Just to confirm. Is CMD > “ping bandlab.com” and getting the 4 affirmative replies (Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0) with the resolved IP address a good enough test for this?
  13. I am so glad I can hide threads on here.
  14. Try muting tracks one my one until the "High pitch sound" disappears. If the sound disappears by muting one of the tracks, then you have found the culprit. Then check that track’s input settings and what is connected to it. Other than that, as@John Verementions, we really need more information.
  15. I wouldn’t. Surely, you mean “I would like to see an announcement that Cakewalk by Bandlab will remain free.”
  16. I am not having this issue at all with Cakewalk by Bandlab 2023.09 Build 75 (My specs as per my signature) What are your PC specs? (See my sig for the stuff needed) What Sample rate, bit depth and buffer size are you using? What audio interface and driver mode (Native ASIO is preferred) are you using? Does your audio interface come with native drivers? (and not a wrapper like ASIO4ALL) What have you tried so far? Is everything updated. All drivers updated? (use device websites, not Windows updates for this)
  17. Use Append Instrument Track instead of Duplicate.
  18. All versions of Cakewalk by Bandlab prior to 2023.09 will eventually cease to activate, regardless of what OS you are running.
  19. Ok. My apologies. To get this to work, I did the following: I created a dummy audio track with Blue Cat control in its FX bin. I also created a dummy MIDI track. Its input set to Blue Cat control. Its output set to what ever synth (VSTi or external) I wish to control.
  20. I tried the VST3 demo in CbB 2023.09 Build 75, and it worked fine here. I am assuming you have worked out the MIDI routing in Cakewalk. In Blue Cat’s Remote Control 3 I noted the following Under each controller or knob, there are little green and red down arrows. For a given controller or knob, click the RED arrow. Then select “Control Output Settings” Then select “Enable MIDI”. This is not checked by default for any controller, which is why you were not getting any MIDI being sent by the plugin. If you want to do wholesale changes, then click any RED arrow, and then select “All Controls Output Settings” As I did not decide to keep this plugin, I have uninstalled it.
  21. When people say “without being connected to the internet”, are they really meaning “without being connected via WIFI“? I am “connected to the internet” 24/7/365 via ethernet and never had an issue with project load speeds (or anything else for that matter)
  22. Try adjusting the dynamics. If this is set to maximum, then velocity will have little to no affect. This is usually the slider to the immediate left of the huge rotary controller in the Spitfire GUI. On the spitfire pianos I have, This is usually set to be controlled by CC1
  23. Maybe drop a note Cakewalk support here: https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000025633 Mention your language and locale. I have a hunch that will be relevant.
