  1. use this link, get it for $5 https://soundpaint.refr.cc/rog7777777
  2. Try turning "Audible bounce" off, with real time render switched on, means rendering the file in silence, may solve the issue.
  3. Here's a useful video tutorial from the template part of this forum, it shows how to set up addictive drums 2, EZ drummer is probably similar. video starts at 2.00 mins
  4. this for your exotic sounds, you will need a VST sampler. https://www.benaylon.com/samples
  5. Win 11 is basically spyware, but on Win 10 you have the hibernate mode hiberfli.sys file that uses memory in the background, estimate between 40 to 75 percent of RAM (I couldn't believe it either) even if it is turned off (sleep mode used) it still functions in the background using the same hibernate mode for "fast start" which still used more than half of memory, I just adjusted mine in Win 10 and it's going like crap off a shovel. Maybe the same in Win 11, although I'm sure it would be more difficult to disable it.
  6. http://bobbyblues.recup.ch/roland_d-50/soundbanks/Unknown_7.html Here are ten unknown origin D-50 commercial soundbanks. Any informations about it (producer or distributer names) are welcome! Unknown soundbank 7 Here is a 1988 or 89 german soundbank that have been used by Phil Collins (if my informations are correct). It seems that he especially used the patch 23 "Phaedra" for the "Another Day In Paradise" introduction. I also remarked 10 patches extracted from the Crim Media Projekt soundbank. Any additional informations about it are welcome! http://bobbyblues.recup.ch/roland_d-50/d-50_soundbanks.html
  7. still inconclusive imo, the chap in the video is clearly miming the intro, he presses the keyboard about half a second before any sound, and when he does start playing on the middle one, it's out of tune. need to get the space fascination patch to settle it.
  8. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Satterfield 1989 ....But Seriously, Phil Collins, Pop rock, soft rock, Studio Virgin, Atlantic, WEA, Trombone
  9. Have you tried using the "take lanes" ? there is a button in the bottom left of the audio track controls, give yourself a 4 count on the metronome before recording starts on every take, then you could edit the takes together to make a finished performance.
  10. It's a difficult one Annabelle, I say it could well be a real life trombone player.
  11. But......., The two intros are obviously different. one is 12 seconds long and one is 35 seconds long. Different intros.
  12. Having listened to the HD version you quoted in your first post you could well be correct. Having first listened to the official version on Phil Collins Youtube channel, and then listened to the HD version, it appears it does sound like an out of tune trombone.
  13. the DX7 has digital emulations of real instruments, brass ones included, it has a tuning slider on the front of the synth that can be used for "detuning" I don't think it is a sample someone put into a synthesizer. It's more than likely a "detuned trombone" patch and saved to the synth. Is that a sample? a resampled patch? a trombone with a sock stuffed into it? who knows.
  14. good compressor advice here, good channel for mixing tips.
  15. "Essential plugin for all that use x64bit DAW.s. This plugin lets you compensate latency for those x32 plugins that doesn't get compensate correctly threw the Bitbridge ... example Steinberg Virtual Guitarist 2 x32. This plugin are FREE and works in both Windows 7 x64bit and Vista x64bit and are essential for any professional Music Producer, Mixing engineer or Songwriter." https://www.voxengo.com/product/latencydelay/features/
  16. Obviously cakewalk has it's own plug in fx chainer by right clicking on the channel, which may do a similar job, but I haven't tested it out relating to this specific problem, might work just as well ?
  17. I have noticed the same thing with cakewalk "crapping out" with vst's and some soft synths, I have read that NVIDIA graphics card drivers are a cause of problems in this regard. The only makeshift solution I have discovered to help with this problem by a process of trial and error is putting an instance of Waves Studiorack Mono/Stereo as the first plug in the chain, this is designed to contain plug ins, (plug in chainer) although I leave it empty and have the plug in's after it in the channel. This only seems to work with the mono/stereo version for some reason, the separate mono or stereo versions don't have the same effect? DDMF have a very good plug in chainer but it cost about £60, Waves one is free. It also works on softsynths on an instrument track but attenuates the output volume of them by a few db.
  18. Nice song, I was listening through your other ones, does a Wav version exist of this song - The Lobsters - Lady Alibi (Rehearsal room version) thanks.
  19. Have you tried increasing your buffer settings under Preferences - " Midi" / "Playback & Recording" ? it's on 64 by default, try it on 128 perhaps.
  20. Using compressors properly could be described as an art form, but obviously you can just use them to flatten out your performances on your instruments, depends how good you are on your instruments, generally a bass should have a compressor on it, less so a guitar, post recording it can be used to accentuate the plucks or other parts of the performances, and generally enhance the sound of the guitar. depends what you are going for. there's couple of very good you tube videos by the guy from Kush audio, he designs and builds them, as well as eq's, the Kush Claraphonic for example. very interesting. best ones i've seen on the topic of compressors.
  21. I found this page in the "manual" which may have explained the issue and how to solve it under "troubleshooting" No sound from my software instrument/synth Symptom: I have inserted a soft synth, but when I play notes on my MIDI keyboard I don't hear anything. Solutions: Make sure the Instrument track, MIDI track, or audio track is not muted. Make sure the MIDI notes are in the right range for the synth's patch. Make sure your MIDI/Instrument Track has its input assigned to the correct MIDI port. Make sure Cakewalk’s audio engine is engaged. The Audio Engine button in the Control Bar (Transport module) is lit when the audio engine is engaged. Unless you are using a dedicated Instrument track for the soft synth, make sure the current MIDI track’s Output control is assigned to the soft synth. Make sure the Input Echo button on the current MIDI track is set to Input Echo: Auto Thru or Input Echo: On. If your MIDI controller contains an onboard sound module, make sure its Local Control function is set to OFF. More Frequently asked questions. So the answer may have been found there in that location. On a side note, It has been said that the default position of the "input echo" button is ON, Does this infact mean that it is automatically illuminated on opening an instantiation of an instrument track? this thread has lead me to believe this to be the case? also does the fact an audio channel has an instance of "input echo" on it, bearing in mind an audio channel cannot use this function? (or can it, only if a recording input is selected?) could the fact that if a project template was opened that had an audio channel as first insert (and no need for "input echo") that this would automatically turn "input echo" off on all other inserted channels afterwards- regardless of weather an audio or midi channel was used? thanks.
