  1. you would be better with your set up using midi cables from your piano to your interface, and usb from your interface to laptop, I see your interface has no midi ins/outs ? also your piano has no 1/4 jack output to connect to the interface? if you have both your interface and piano connected to the laptop by usb cables it won't work? you may have to connect the piano by usb to the laptop direct and use yamaha drivers (it should then show in your settings in cakewalk as an output - yamaha ) and use the headphone socket of the laptop? looks like a mismatch of piano and interface possibly ? or it would be better to use the headphone direct output of the piano.

  3. try your soundcard settings in the preferences ? make sure your channels are routed to your master. check you haven't got mute or solo buttons active where they shouldn't. make sure input echo button is selected. a few for starters.
  4. Yes, you have to be careful of these things, there is apparently a tool from kushview that works, free also, I have no idea how it is used, looks quite complex and utilitarian, https://github.com/kushview/Element/releases/tag/0.41.1 and no viruses attached. from this thread https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=560297&start=30
  5. don't click on the xlutop link, my antivirus says it contains a trojan , I should have checked it first, apologies
  6. from Bitflipper post above ? Another possible avenue might be a VST3 wrapper, a VST2 plugin the serves as a VST3 host. I found this one, from the people who make the Sequoia DAW: https://www.xlutop.com/buzz/zip/vst3shell_v1.3.1.zip That's a direct link to the plugin. Here's a link to the KVR page: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=565924

  8. I shouldn't type this as I may be in danger of being banned, but someone invented a reaper UI theme which is an identical copy of Cakewalk UI.
  9. You can literally see it on the screen shots of the fonts posted on this page, 2 posts above and top of the page, I have no idea what resolution my laptop monitor is working at, but the text on this forum or any other text I read on it is not blurry or out of focus, if you were to zoom in on it the edges would not be defined by lines or square pixels, it looks like if you were using a paintshop program and the edges of the text would resemble a micro version of a spraycan effect on the edges? This is not a techical analysis, it's a everyday consumers initial verdict on the clarity of the text, I can only imagine the graphics department have the latest ultra high definition macbook superpro mk5 and can't see it possibly. It's very apparent.
  10. first time seeing the new interface up close, I can understand now why people describe it as "blurry", seems very difficult to focus on the text, seems to be no proper definition on the outlines of the text.
  11. don't know, I wouldn't take it personally, you can't legislate for this type of thing.
  12. If that was the marketing strategy it would make me come across as observant, that was the impression I got from it being in pastel colours, It's a shame such a benign comment could be offensive, which was the reason I put the disclaimer first, also that someone deleted it. If indeed using pastel colour scheme was a cynical marketing plot to appeal to the female market, it could be said to be somewhat patronising from a marketing viewpoint. that was my initial thoughts when seeing it. for the record I'm all for more women getting involved in making music and recording music in daws as a possible marketing strategy it reminds me of when VW relaunched the beetle and put a massive plantpot in the middle of the dashboard and stuck a big plastic flower in it as standard.
  13. Intel management engine driver. It's a spyware that circumnavigates the operating system basically a spyware on the motherboard, If you can it's worth disabling it/deleting it. your bios will remind you to reinstate it every so often, but best to leave it off. Amazing they hassle you to have windows defender active, while at the same time bugging your computer. https://www.itechtics.com/intel-management-engine-components/

  15. Nice video tutorial here with some info on the subject,
  16. Yes, Guitars and Basses use instrument cables which are TS(mono) cables which should be connected by the left (mono) input on the recording interface, (record on input 1 L) this is normal, if you try to use the interface a stereo input with a mono signal you will only get audio in one side of you audio output. if you use one speaker it won't be a problem. The only way to get a stereo signal from a guitar would be to record it with 2 microphones recording the output from an amp/cabinet or you can find vst's that can convert mono signals to stereo signals or duplicate the track in your daw and have it double mono and hard pan left and right.
  17. Some of them are really great, some of them are useful, some of them are a bit dodgy, all of them are buggy when first released, they beta test them as released, so 5 versions are released in the first week, all of them are ridiculously cheap with the sales, all of them have demos. I own practically everyone they released because they are so cheap, but because of owning all of them, It probably cost me $200, which is the most probably spent for me of all plugin companies. So the very cheap prices ends up being profitable for them. I would say Hornet and Melda plugins are amongst some of the best, My favourite one is Analog stage mk 1,
  18. Ok John, Apologies, I thought your problem had transmogrified into an installation problem in the middle of the thread. I'm sure it will be an easy solution. ?
  19. "Oh and I also paid $10 for a new copy of DB33 from KVR that @Mr No Name posted. I now have a new serial number. Woopy! But it doesn't show in iLok. Still only the DB33 demo and the one in the expansion pack. I passed this along to Air support as well" OOPS! ? it was a legends pack I suggested, has the 3 plug ins included for $10 Also when you say you put it in a Steinberg folder have you put the vst folder aswell? On my drive the plug ins are located in ... program files>steinberg<vstplugins last thing I can think of that's not too technical is whether some remnants of the previous uninstall are left on the computer? or , Win 11 compatibility issues? best of luck with it.
