  1. https://kilohearts.com/docs/download_and_installation#khs_one This is a basic subtractive polyphonic synth with few bells and whistles and few FX. Not sure what anybody was expecting. It was discontinued and is now free, so it is what it is. Probably useful for studying subtractive synth programming from init with few distractions. I have Phase Plant, which is a much bigger animal by a few orders of magnitude! Much more complex due to its semi-modular architecture, but creative efforts are quickly rewarded. Big fun to work with!

I already have iZotope RX 9 Standard which has Music Rebalance. https://www.izotope.com/en/products/rx/features/music-rebalance.html
  3. Meet Cherry Audio: (Interview begins at 7:05)
  4. Well said Reid! Most social media and forums today are toxic in this regard. IMO, only serious censorship could effectively wrangle human nature's worst expressions. That's a mostly cynical attitude and I would be happy to be wrong, but I'm not seeing self-control take the lead over blatant self-expression anytime soon! Slightly off-topic, but have you noticed that you rarely see bathroom graffiti anymore? I believe that the internet & metaverse have become the new bathroom wall for morons to anonymously scribble on... ?

I'm not an admin, but a long-time user here... so just FYI advising that buying and selling is not permitted on this forum. But posting a link to your personal sales items elsewhere is allowed in your forum signature.
  6. That's possibly one reason why the manufacturer of the new Osmose keyboard opted to put an onboard synth in the keyboard. That way they have QA over the MPE presets onboard, as well as no need for plugins or a computer out of the box. Then it's up the user that wants to connect it as a controller to deal with the rest.
  7. I have found this one to be a helluva pad machine! This is the reason that convinced me! Here are some of the best pads I've heard anywhere! The 32-voice polyphony takes the Oberheim SEM in a very interesting direction! https://www.luftrum.com/luftrum22/ Luftrum 22 for bx_oberhausen Luftrum and Stephan Baer have teamed up to create a set of 80 new presets for bx_oberhausen. Luftrum 22 is a selection bx_oberhausen presets, from buttery soft pads to crispy synth leads, fat unison basses and analog arpeggios, with each sound designers’ signature take on the 70s analog classic.
  8. OEM is the default license and is what comes with a pre-built PC, or in many cases supplied to a home builder. Retail is better as it's legally portable, but costs more. An OEM license is supposed to only be for the life of the original PC it's installed on, while Retail licenses can legally can be moved to another PC. Although I believe MS may allow OEM keys to be activated on a different machine, as in when you change motherboards (they wouldn't really know if you had actually built an entirely new PC).
  9. As I understand it, the Windows upgrades replace the edition that you have a key for. Like for like, as in Win7/Win8.1 Home to Win 10 Home, Win7/Win8.1 Pro to Win10 Pro, etc. A Home key will not unlock Pro.
  10. I once had to re-activate my Windows 10 after a motherboard upgrade when Windows detected major new hardware. I called in to MS and the tech told me to enter my old Windows 7 code to activate it (it had been a Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro upgrade). That worked and all is good ever since!
  11. I think the DS90s (Roland D-50 emulation) is probably the keeper in the bunch. Due to its original Roland architecture, nobody has been able to legally emulate its synth engine because of the proprietary Roland 8-bit PCM samples used as the sound source for the digital synthesis engine. Only Roland has access to those samples. So other than the Roland Cloud version, a sampled D-50 is the only way for a 3rd party to emulate it, aka the UVI DS90s. https://www.roland.com/us/products/rc_d-50/ "The D-50 was Roland’s first fully digital synthesizer, and its unique sound combined subtractive synthesis with harmonically complex sampled waveforms and digital effects. This innovative marriage of samples and synthesis allowed for warm and dynamic analog tonality with the realism and flexibility of digital technology, opening up an entirely new world of sound creation possibilities." https://www.vintagesynth.com/roland/d50.php "Once Roland's hottest digital synth, it competed against the Yamaha DX7, and was much easier to use. By joining 8-bit PCM samples with "LAS" synth-generated sounds, the D-50 is capable of unique and complex sounds. The PCM samples contained the attack transients, while the rest of the sound came from the Linear Arithmatic Synth (LAS) section which sounds very analog, with subtractive-style synthesis and low-pass-resonant filters."
  12. A deeply sampled Surrealistic MG-1?
  13. Windows 10 Pro is a must for me. I like the extra control that you get with group policy editor, even as a home user and DIY system builder. Plus it was a free upgrade from Windows 7 Pro here for me. I would have bought Win 10 Pro if necessary, but fortunately for me it wasn't. Regarding the cheap Win 10 Pro OEM licenses available, from what I have read Microsoft appears to be looking the other way. They could block the keys if they wanted to, but they haven't so far. But no guarantee that MS won't change their mind down the road...YMMV!
  14. Some synths are popular with certain genres of musician who choose a synth based on a factory or aftermarket library of production-ready sounds that fit their style. These presets are often drenched in effects to make them sound cool on preview. Temporarily shutting off the on-board effects will show the true colors of a synth engine. A saw wave is a saw wave, and a wavetable is a wavetable, etc. It's how you process them with filters, modulation, & effects that produces that synth's "sound".
  15. So is Massive is you crank the voicing way up. Try backing down the unison voices if that option is switched on. Fair enough. There are plenty of synths out there, so may as well use the ones that deliver!
  16. "Force Direct Download" was checked by default on the Portal here...
  17. Glad you resolved the issue. That was the point of my earlier question regarding monitoring the computer output. The mix is the key!
  18. The MS-20 filter could make ANY tone generator sound cool!!!
  19. The bx_oberhausen synth has a really nice analog Oberheim vibe that I quite like. Definitely worth spending some quality time with! I would almost put it up there with u-he Repro sound wise, which covers the Prophet sound (entirely different) nicely. Obviously some might disagree, but this emulation of the OB has made my "keepers" list!
  20. I've already got the Cherry Audio Miniverse, and that's plenty of Moog Mini for me!
  21. Well at least the new UVI portal is a nice piece of web art now, thanks to the integration with MS Edge Webview2...
  22. Good point! I had removed Digital Synsations 1 a while back to recover disk space. I may need to check out this update! Well, at least as soon as my 35 Arturia updates finish...
  23. Are you monitoring the computer audio output?
