Very nice! So I was looking for the "Kenny" button in my UJAM guitar. So far no luck. I think I was ripped off, LOL!!!

Are you getting any crash errors when the crash occurs, that might indicate the source of the crash? Probably time to start investigating audio drivers, sample rates, etc. What are you using for audio and what are the settings?

Go back up a few posts and @Doug Rintoulhas posted the link to the open source versions on the developer's site at github.
-
It seems that the developer only has two projects on github, OB-Xd and OPL. So that leads me to believe that the others from Disco DSP are commercial synths. https://github.com/reales

The demo is the full program. Can be run in demo mode, or registered.

If you have already done this part, then I could only imagine that you are having some sort of networking issue. You must be online to activate. Are you using a firewall?
-
Well except for Paulo. Sorry for your loss, bro! I can't imagine what happened with yours... ?

Just thought I'd mention that if you bought Eventide Shimmerverb over at Plugin Boutique, their download is the 1.0.0 version. Go over to the Eventide site to get the latest download 1.0.2.

I'd recommend trying the demo first, then if you no likey, you can get your 4GB back. No risk, except for a few minutes of your time! ? I do like the instrument mode, where you can actually play the instrument without using the preset phrase player. This mode has keyswitch articulations.

I don't know the answer to why, but when I checked I found that Carbon is available as a regular plug-in in KK, but it doesn't show up in the KK Library. Further checking of the UJAM folder in C:\ProgramData\UJAM shows that Sparkle has a NKS sub- folder, but Carbon does not.

Your system must be haunted... ?

Have nothing against Eventide, but yep, this my first bad experience with iLOK. ?
-
I'm hopeful that is the case! ?
-
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Just discovered this morning (on a Saturday), and emailed them. I'm hopeful that they will get around to it in a couple of business days next week. The real test will be the iLOK licenses on the same machine that belong to AKAI Professional and AIR Music (both inMusic Brands now). We'll see how responsive their support is... I would obviously have de-activated all of the iLOK licenses prior to attempting a hard drive swap on my cheap laptop (no names mentioned) if I had thought that would kill the laptop. Had no idea that would be terminal! But due to the cheap hardware design and no access cover on the bottom, I was required to remove the keyboard to access the drive bay. Now the keyboard has come free and also detached the ribbon cables from the system board, which appears to have damaged the ribbon sockets, so no way back. I have an external keyboard, but the power button is on the internal keyboard. So now I have a new(er) laptop, a (refurbished) Dell, with an access cover on the bottom. Lessons (expensive) learned. ☺️ I still have a few SONiVOX iLOK license activations stuck on the old laptop, but not sure they are really worth recovering. We'll see how AKAI and AIR respond first...

Yes, you have to have an iLOK account and at least use the software iLOK manager. I just installed Eventide Shimmerverb and had to go through that bit of activation hurdle again. And I also discovered that my 2nd activation for Eventide Black Hole that I was using on my (now dead) laptop is locked up. iLOK won't let me deactivate a license from a machine that I can no longer access. Bummer... iLOK says that I must contact the software publisher to request a license deactivation if I cannot access the iLOK software on the machine with that activation. Waiting... ?

Here's what I got when I started the download process: 1, Downloaded the 'VG-CARBON Downloader.exe'. It went to my 'C:\Users\<username>\Downloads' folder. 2. Ran that file, and it dropped a 2.5GB folder named 'Virtual Guitarist CARBON' in the same downloads folder. Inside that folder is a 'Virtual Guitarist CARBON 1.0.1 (497).exe' and three related .bin files. *** Wait for the downloader to finish checking files after the download is complete . The downloader dialog may be hidden behind other windows on the desktop. *** 3. The folder will now be 4.1GB. The downloader was apparently uncompressing the .bin files in that folder. No clue that was happening obviously. 4. Now run the .exe file! The VG-Carbon Setup Wizard will launch. It will default to your VST folder for the plugin, and for the content it will default to Program Data on your 'C:' drive, but you can browse to another drive if you wish. Let the installer finish. All good here in the DAW. Lets rock!

Kind of difficult to use a promo that excludes sale items when all the good stuff is already on sale! ?
-
Thanks! That one caught my eye, and I watched a few demo videos, including with some sweet piano! It's on the wish list now! But I also noticed a huge sale on the EASTWEST Spaces II Convolution Reverb. At $133.99 (marked down from $299). That looks like the lowest price ever for that! http://everyplugin.com/spaces-1858.html

I picked up the Eventide Blackhole reverb for cheap a while back, and I love that one! And just grabbed the Eventide Shimmerverb on sale this week (everywhere for $39 or less) but at Plugin Boutique it came with PIB's free giveaway bundle with any purchase this month that includes the UJAM Carbon guitar. Going to try it out this weekend! But I'm not that familiar with the Eventide vintage gear, so would be interested to know about any "must haves". ☺️
-
The initial "download" is just the download manager for that particular installer. It does not install itself as a software manager for UJAM. Just installs the specific product. I have several UJAM titles and each of the new items have a separate "installer".
-
PIB also has Eventide Shimmerverb on sale for $39, and I was already thinking about buying that elsewhere. But not any more! Now with Carbon in the free bundle! You can even use PIB Virtual Cash that you have to improve your discount, as long as it's not 100% of the purchase price.

In this video (at the beginning) Daniel, the trailer creator, explains how he created that synth sound with Carbon.
