  1. Finally, my metal ray is complete! I have always been thinking it would be nice to have fingers. Thanks!
  2. Hey @Peter - IK Multimedia, I sincerely appreciate your generous offer! But don't worry about that buck! I took that one, plus many, many more back when I cleaned up at the $199 level for the Group Buy. Would almost feel guilty taking any more! ? But seriously, I really think IK has scored big with this new product! I'm really liking it. But not having as much fun yet as Zo!
  3. IK only let me use 44 JamPoints. So $106 here.
  4. It will still be the same Windows 10 install and hard drives. Just changing hardware, not the drives. I would move the licenses if I could but the motherboard died suddenly.
  5. I am getting ready to upgrade my CPU, motherboard, and RAM. But keep Windows 10 and the same drives. I wonder if I will have any issues with Waves (or iLok) activations afterwards? The drives will remain exactly as they are, except maybe some new drivers.
  6. When it happened to me, Waves support sent me a link to the support page for how to reset your licenses yourself. Only works once a year though.

Only 1779 more to go, with 4 days left...
  8. Other than Pigments 2 (highly recommended), which I got for less than $99 at PIB by using up some virtual cash there, I only have the Analog Lab as far as Arturia goes. The Lab is an amazing collection of sounds. Wish I had gotten that sooner! So much so that I am even considering springing for one of their KeyLab keyboards to get tactile access to those knob and slider controls! Ah, love the smell of GAS in the morning...
  9. The Shofuku Carts are for the DX7 V. But any sound sets that you purchase should work with both Analog Lab and the full synth that the presets were made for if you have that too. Nori used to do sound design for Yamaha on the original DX-7 synth.

Yup! If IK had it listed as $199, that's what you get credit for in the group buy, regardless of what you actually paid for it at a 3rd party distributor. Pays to shop around!
  11. Good advice! I always uninstall my 3rd party AV, and let Windows Defender take over the job prior to any major Windows 10 version updates. Then I just re-install my AV afterwards, and Defender quietly goes back to sleep. There have been times that I left my AV running during the Windows update, and then had to battle Defender afterwards when it thought it should still be running!

I wouldn't put backups on SSD. HDD is best for that purpose. And cheaper.

ST4 MAX cost me a new SSD... But it was definitely a worthwhile upgrade because the samples load much faster now compared to my old HDD. ?
  14. I lost my Waves licenses last year when I disabled a virtual network adapter that had evidently been linked to my local licenses. I got a license reset from Waves that took care of that incident. I updated to Windows 10 2004 back in July without any incidents involving my Waves licenses. But if it happened to you, it would definitely be something to watch out for, although not likely to affect everyone universally. I had my licenses linked to my local 'C:' drive at the time of the update and I was OK. So I doubt that it is Windows 10 specifically to blame, just the possibility that the Windows update changed something that your local Waves licenses were linked to. I'm beginning to think it may be worth the effort to at least move all Waves licenses back to the cloud anytime that I make major changes to my computer. Either that or get another USB stick just for them.

I think I would grab Alternate Keys as #5. Those sounds would be nice to have in the collection. But I will probably get more use out of the clavs. Love that sound!

I caved on Clavitubes for #4. It's actually very good! The only thing left for me was the new SampleTank sound banks. Already had all of the old ones that came with ST4 MAX. Had all of the big ticket goodies at the $199 or lower level. So now along with the MODO B, MODO D, and the B3X for the 1st three, I'm done shopping for the year... ?
  18. I grabbed 9 free banks. Some great preset additions to many of the Analog Lab featured synths, particularly many for the Jup 8, Matrix 12, and Mini. A couple of them are also banks for the full Pigments, which I also have. 'M.Houle's Signature' and 'Percussive Drive'. Also grabbed 'Synthwave 2085' for Pigments at half price. 128 groovy sounds. ✌️

Proof of the overwhelming power of GAS. Resistance is futile!
  20. I got the J-37 Tape machine for the saturation and analog feel. I've never experimented with double tracking, but that does sound interesting! Maybe I'll try 2 J-37's on a bus with a delay inserted between them and see what happens? Probably not the same, but it might be interesting. If you have the IK Tape Delay, how would you compare them? Available in ST4 and MixBox.
  21. What do you like most about it?
  22. Don't know if this helps now (old), but from the old Cakewalk forum: How to Update LAME MP3 Encoder? (SOLVED) http://forum.cakewalk.com/How-to-Update-LAME-MP3-Encoder-SOLVED-m2838742.aspx
  23. Physical devices not necessary, as they can be emulated in the box. Their VST plug-in equivalents can do a fine job. However some plug-ins can put a big demand on the CPU. So that is why the question regarding how you intend to use the computer. Otherwise it sounds like your thinking is on track! Good luck with your project!
  24. Hey @Gremthanks for the tip! But I've got most of the collection, except for Reel ADT, and the microphones. Don't think that I would ever use those two.
