  1. I guess you did not see my edit 2 hours ago. I had to dig into the info panel with the plugin running to find my actual version. 1.3 is the version, and the other numbers are the build number. So there is apparently no later version. Just something in the old SONiVOX installer that conflicts with today's computers that they should have removed a long time ago. A good reason to be wary of un-maintained software!
  2. LOL, it's looks like it was bolted on in a manner not likely to break anything! But it still works better than the old way. I have a few of their synths and I had become reluctant to use them due to the old browser, auditioning presets was a big PITA.
  3. The OP in that thread references Vocalizer Pro 1.3 Edit: I am running Vocalizer Pro 1.3, build 2.3.0.16, installed in 2016 from Plugin Boutique. iLok says: "we moved on from TPkd.sys more than 5 years ago, and our recent License Support/iLok License Manager installs do not include it. There is a recent build of Windows 10 that does seem to have a lot of problems with the old TPkd.sys file". So the reference is to the installer from SONiVOX being the cause of the problem now. They have not updated any of their older products in years so this was bound to eventually happen.
  4. And as far as Twist goes, meh, don't bother... ? Don't believe me? Trial here: https://sonivoxmi.com/downloads/trial/twist-spectral-morphing-synthesizer
  5. It works fine in CbB! Setting up this vocoder is a special arrangement that requires a separate MIDI track for note input to play it, as well as a live or recorded audio input source to mangle. Start a fresh Cakewalk project. Insert a fresh audio track and a MIDI track. Vocalizer Pro goes into the effects bin of your audio track. Enable MIDI input on the plug-in. Important! Set the MIDI track input to your controller, and the MIDI track output to Vocalizer Pro. Now put some sound into the audio track. You can drop an audio clip and loop it to test. If using a clip, hit play. Otherwise any input signal from a mic or instrument would work on the audio track. Use input echo = on in that case. But you still won't hear anything on the audio track output! You can test this by bypassing the plug-in, and then you should hear the original audio source. You will need to play some MIDI notes on the MIDI track to trigger the Vocalizer plug-in. The MIDI notes open the gate in the plug-in that allows processed audio to flow to the audio output. You can simply play some notes on your controller, or add some notes via the piano roll. Now have fun and experiment with the various Vocalizer presets and see how many ways you can mangle your audio!
  6. CbB 16-track template in <2 secs (I did wait for the initial plug-in scan to finish on first CbB launch prior to testing). <5 secs to load CbB and open the 16-track template from double clicking the template shortcut in one step. Intel i5-9600K 6 cores locked at 4.6GHz on Asus Prime Z390-A motherboard. Intel integrated UHD graphics 630 RAM 16GB DDR4 at 2666 MHz XMP. SSD Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SATA 6 Gb/s, benchmark sequential read 555 MB/s. Avira Pro AV real-time scanning active. Windows 10 Pro 2004
  7. That's odd, because the SONiVOX install directions that I have used previously first pointed me directly to the iLok website to register for an account, download the latest iLok software, and then activating the new license on my machine via iLok. That was all before downloading and running any SONiVOX installer. So I do not recall SONiVOX ever installing anything iLok related. But even though that was a few years ago, those instructions are still current at my dealer (Plugin Boutique).
  8. Is that the Waves price, or with the discount from an online dealer such as EveryPlugin? Waves will give you a purchase code customized for your upgrade that you can provide to a dealer for a competitive quote. Just click on the "Buying from your local dealer?" on the Waves upgrade page to get the purchase code emailed to you.
  9. VSTi should work in Reason. Why would you want to pay extra to have a rack extension?
  10. Koby hooked me up with a WUP deal. I had to bite on the V12 because it addresses my 2 main issues with Waves plug-ins. The preset browser and the tiny UI. V12 is a welcome change! The new preset browser works very well with the up/down arrow keys for auditioning presets! I found that the 125% UI zoom fits nice and graphics look OK for most of my plug-ins on a HD display @1920 x 1200. The larger zoom sizes are obviously blurry due to lack of vector graphics, but I really don't want them to appear full screen, but just large enough for readable knobs and labels.
  11. The "for Reason" means that these are rack extensions and not VST format.
  12. Here is the ST4 SE instrument list including the new instruments. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/include/st4/soundlist/SampleTank_4_SE_Instruments.pdf
  13. Plus ST4 SE also loads the ST3, Syntronik, and Miro instruments.
  14. Just remember that direct monitoring is not an issue with an "in the box" recording of a VSTi as the OP has proposed. The key here is buffer size, and the delay from playing a note on the controller (or MIDI track) to hearing the notes played back by the VSTi without any breakups or dropouts.
  15. Modern USB MIDI controllers are most simply connected to a USB port on the computer. You could use a 5-pin MIDI DIN connector on the audio interface and keyboard if available. There is no advantage to using a 5-pin MIDI DIN connector, except to provide MIDI compatibility to legacy devices without USB MIDI.
  16. The front page for the deal says it includes ST4 SE. Contact customer service.
  17. Looks that way, based on the current list of hardware they are promoting. But they do still have the 25, 49, and 61 key versions of their MPK keyboard line as current, and VIP ready, although without the fancy VIP LCD display. I needed a new controller a couple of years ago, so I bought an Alesis version of the Advance (they packaged it in versions for Akai, M-Audio, and Alesis) that I got a stupid deal on at Musician's Friend, along with the VIP software bundle. It's an OK keyboard, but I do miss the sliders. I actually found the VIP software quite useful, even more so than the integrated keyboard. I would really hate to see Akai abandon VIP development, because there is nothing else quite like it for managing your instrument plugin library. I currently have over 20,000+ presets searchable from my VSTi collection, that I can quickly drop into a multi layer with up to 8 instruments. That's more fun than pushing buttons, IMHO!
  18. SampleTank 3 has a Bandoneon imported from ST2 XL.
  19. Still waiting for Akai to update their VIP 3.1.1 software to include VST3... Clicking on the release notes from the help menu within the program takes you to 404: Page not found. https://www.akaipro.com/vip-release-notes/v3.1.1 And they have moved their Advance controllers for VIP to their "Legacy" products page... https://www.akaipro.com/products/legacy Abandonware?
  20. Yes, I agree, and sympathize. I'm only running a few years behind you! Last time I rebuilt Windows from scratch was 4 years ago. Took me about two weeks to re-install and authorize everything. No fun at all! But nothing like a fresh install feeling with all of the loose ends built up internally over the years swept away. I wouldn't do it just for TTS-1 either, but if the system stability is in question and affecting more than one application, then it's something to seriously consider.
  21. I hate to be the guy to bring this up, but maybe it's time for a clean re-install of your OS? You seem to be having a lot of misbehavior with programs that should just be working for you. Apologies in advance if that is not perceived as helpful, as intended!
  22. Well, it sounds like you have the plugin installed if you can insert the SynthMaster Player in a Cakewalk project. But if you cannot hear any sounds, then maybe you have not installed the SM Player correctly. I would uninstall and re-install SM according to the KV331 Audio procedures, and if that doesn't work I would contact their support. SynthMaster Player is working fine here in the latest version of Cakewalk. Or else you could just disable the GoXLR and test it with your computer's onboard audio to see if that makes any difference?
  23. Brian mentioned that the piano is free. True, but MSoundFactory (required) is not free.
  24. Here is an example of the full Arturia Piano V. These sounds are available in the Analog Lab, but with just the assigned macros controls for the controller to shape the sound. The full tweakability is only available in the full version of Piano V.
