  1. Never got the coupon, even though I'm subscribed and received the 50% off promotion email. ? It's a shame that I can't use my rewards wallet on these deals, but according to their FAQ: "So, for every product in The Shop there are up to three different price points: List Price, Current Asking Price & Base Price. Rewards money can only be used in The Shop and not on The Deal as each two week deal is already priced at the base price and can not be sold for any less."
  2. Will never happen. Skippy says that there will not be any sale prices because Unify is always on sale!
  3. The .papreset files should be found in this folder > "C:\Program Files\Plugin Alliance\bx_oberhausen\Presets". Use the preset browser in the bx_oberhausen UI to load these presets. To access the browser just click the little square icon in the upper left between the power button and the UI scale %.
  4. Massive was always listed as a time-limited freebie for the Collective. If anyone slept on it while it was available for the last 3 months, well then sorry!
  5. It's a great synth! But the very detailed and intricate modulation scheme is clearly from the mind of a former Waldorf engineer... ? My brain prefers the visual modulators in something like Pigments or Phase Plant.
  6. I recently experienced Cakewalk not responding to a USB MIDI controller that has faithfully worked very well for a couple of years. The controller was still recognized by Windows, other DAWs, and even MIDI-OX. Just no response at all in Cakewalk. After restarting the controller and Cakewalk did not work, I finally got it working again by unchecking all of the MIDI devices in Cakewalk preferences, saving, and restarting Cakewalk. Then when I re-enabled the MIDI devices in Cakewalk all was working again! Weird! Edit: I found my culprit! Apparently the Cakewalk MIDI devices and the Control Surfaces settings interact. I had previously set up my Arturia KeyLab MkII as a MIDI controller and a Control Surface in Cakewalk. This device has a MIDI in/out 1 port that controls keyboard note on/offs, etc., plus a MIDI in/out 2 port that handles control surface messages. All of these ports (4)need to be enabled BEFORE adding the control surface! Somehow the control surface ports in the Cakewalk preferences defaulted (after working correctly for a long time) to the MIDI in/out 1 ports for the keys, and whenever I enabled the MIDI in/out 2 ports in device preferences, the keys would stop working. Solution: went into control surfaces and changed the MIDI ports for this controller back to MIDI in/out 2. I'm not sure why this happened, except that I recently added a KORG NanoPad 2 to my setup. ?
  7. I finally figured out how to use MIDI learn with my controller for some synths that don't do MIDI learn on their native GUI. With Unify hosting them, it is a simple task to use any knobs in the 4 banks of 8 Macro Knobs in the Unify GUI mapped to my controller. Then simply assign the desired synth automation parameters in any instrument layer to a Unify Macro Knob. Makes it a great performance tool!
  8. I have almost pushed the buy button for Thorn a few times in the past. I already had Thorn CM and that had caused me to hesitate. But this time I couldn't refuse. Great deal! After watching the videos for Tantra 2, decided I needed that one too! So I got both plugins with 20% off for buying 2 plugins, plus $25 off for the voucher. Which basically amounted to a buy one, get one deal! Installed!!!
  9. Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day...
  10. Mostly addicts, but I believe Apple Silicon is the fringe around here...
  11. I see what you mean and have run across what you are describing, but the OP is referring to C5 and D5. Same octave... and that's actually 2 semitones apart.
  12. I'm going to guess that it's probably tied to the bundle. Just basing that opinion on the fact that the instruments in my V Collection 9 are all tied to one serial number, so cannot sell the bundled instruments separately. Even my crossgrade license is tied to the underlying product (in this case V Collection 8), which cannot be sold separately. So for me it's all or none. Of course all of the products that I acquired separately, e.g., Pigments and a few FX, each have their own licenses. You could always contact Arturia customer support for a direct answer.
  13. @User 905133I thought about this for another minute, and it inspired me to come up with another workaround that is easy to implement with a few clicks if you have Unify by PluginGuru. The cool thing about this is that you can save the entire setup as a Unify patch. Unify has 4 banks of 8 macro knobs that can be linked to any parameter in a Unify instrument layer, including FX plugs used in that layer. Then each macro knob can be MIDI learned on your controller, or assigned to a MIDI CC. As a test I inserted an instrument on a new layer, and then added Objeq Delay. In the linked parameters list for a macro knob (you right-click a macro knob to access the parameter links) the FX parameters are listed at the bottom of the instrument menu. Works great with Unify in standalone mode, or as a plugin! I saved a demo patch for this setup in Unify standalone. Then opened up my DAW and loaded this patch in an plugin instance of Unify, and the MIDI learned knob on my controller and the parameter assignment for Objeq Delay remained in place within Unify. So like Voltage Modular, Unify easily handles the host duties. In this case as a host within another host, making it quite portable!
  14. Made me some strong Starbucks French Roast this morning, LOL!!! ?
  15. If I'm not mistaken, V-vocal was a licensed Roland product that Cakewalk never owned. It was removed from the Sonar installer beginning with Sonar X3 when Roland sold Cakewalk to Gibson. That was probably why Sonar switched over to Melodyne Essential at that point.
  16. It was $24 at JRR last Sep-Oct. I would wait for a better sale... https://musicsoftwaredeals.com/price-history/biotek-2-by-tracktion/
  17. Reid Rosefelt asked a similar question over at the VI Control community a year ago, and got 7 pages of responses... https://vi-control.net/community/threads/for-pluginguru-unify-owners-why-did-you-buy-it-what-do-you-use-it-for.119812/ And... https://soundbytesmag.net/review-unify-by-pluginguru/ https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2020/02/20/pluginguru-unify-review/ Here is John "Skippy" Lehmkuhl's Unify release video from 3 years ago. Unify Standard is now up to version 1.9.1. All updates have been free, and most have included new features. A few key takeaways from this, but there are many more! Unify is a self contained instrument that you can play right away without adding any plugins or libraries, with 400 patches included. You can scan and add you own plugins. Contains many samples, MIDI FX, audio FX, and a few free synths used by permission. Macro knobs are assignable to your controller and can connect with any parameter in any layer of a patch. Even multiple instances of the same instrument. This is a huge feature for performance control! Each layer processes on a separate CPU thread, so it automatically load balances. It's fun!
  18. I have noticed with some synths such as Pigments, with heavy CPU and graphics demands, that they are making use of my Nvidia GPU. So I expect that performance may vary based on one's hardware setup. If a synth is programmed to make use of a GPU for the graphics processing that is a load that the CPU doesn't have to deal with. Note: In many cases I have observed that closing the synth's GUI while playing reduces the overall load. All that eye candy needs to be processed somewhere!
  19. Anatomy of a Patch – Wind Machine in Kilohearts’ Phase Plant >>> https://soundbytesmag.net/anatomy-of-a-patch-wind-machine-in-kilohearts-phase-plant/ Have bookmarked this article for later... looks interesting!!!
  20. Just go ahead and buy Chromaphone 3 on the next 50% off deal. You know that you really want it! I started collecting the free packs and decided that was the synth for me. But now I have that synth, and every stinking one of the packs for it! No regrets!!!
  21. After considering the "why?" that A|A|S omitted the MIDI learn functions for CC on Objeq Delay, I have come to this consideration... 1. "Why?" - Their virtual instruments all have their macro knobs and the knobs in the editor panels assignable to MIDI learn. 2. Maybe they assumed that nobody would want to "play" Objeq Delay in real time from a controller? Or maybe a perceived potential conflict with the assignable CC #s that the instruments would be using? Otherwise, I can't understand why this feature was omitted...
