Good info. Wow! Great work Craig! That first song is really good. Catchy, great beat, good vocals, and the video!! Did you do that video yourself? The colors are so vivid, especially at the 4:28 part. I enjoyed watching it.

So do I. : ) I don't hear much about it, but I just love playing around with Ultra Analog. And Chromaphone is really nice, along with String Studio. What surprised me was Strum GS2. I did the RTM thing and was really wow' d when I found out, and actually was able to get it to strum just like I wanted!! It has a lot of "strum" midi file already with it and they can be manipulated as you pleased. Like I said, I was really surprised. And I am a guitar player, not a keyboard player.

Good song @Craig Anderton. Great mix/master too! I forget what mix tutorial it was, but you did one that involved using the new Sonar Console Emulations. That was when I re-evaluated my method for mixing!! I have since gone the way of I can spend my time writing better songs than trying to mix better. These old ears just can't serve me like I would like. Mastering is a total art unto itself. And I haven't figured out how the mixing process goes with the Mastering process. Someone said (I think it was Larry) something about the older songs being mixed/mastered badly. When I do hear some of my favorite songs I can hear the mistakes they had to live with! But they had to make decisions, keep the ball rolling, get the next client in... but we still loved them songs! : )

CbB Not Remembering Sonar Platinum Plug-Ins

If you are using Win10, type "snip" in the search box and you will see Windows own "Snipping Tool" works like a charm! -

Yes it was an easy fix. I was surprised it never happened to me before! I make loops all the time!! I just always take it for granted that when I press Ctrl+L it's gonna work!! Learn something new.

Try it on say a laptop, a Surface Pro, something like that. Like I said, on my main machine it was ok. When I went to other machines like my Surface is when I could see the differences. And I can load up SO3 on my Surface right now, and the text is just too small. But yet, load up CbB on my Surface and everything looks exactly like it does on my main machine. I have my Surface set to 2160x1440 with Scaling and Layout set to 175%. CbB handles this just like a charm. SO3 doesn't.

Thanks Larry. I signed up. Not really my kind of music but I figure I can learn something! I like Pharrell 's voice. Great singer.

That's really nice of them to do that.

This is a question on how CbB handles loops dragged into a project from the Browser. I dragged a one bar loop into a project. The project tempo was the same as the loop. I Ctrl+L to turn it into a Groove Clip, and CbB automatically stretched it to 2 bars. When I played the Groove Loop it played back at half speed and very glitchy. My project was 24/96 and I thought maybe the sample rate had something to do with it. So I tried a new project at 24/48 and got the same results. So I looked at clip properties and it was saying the clip was 8 beats. Since it was only one measure, I wondered why CbB was seeing 8 beats. So I switched the original loop to 4 beats (in Clip Properties) and then it worked as expected. This never happened to me before so I am asking others more familiar with Groove Clips to help explain this behavior.

Did you see the finger prints all over them disc's!!!? And yep, I think I have some music on a silicon chip somewhere!! -
Yes ZO. I noticed that Studio One says Windows compatible, but when you work with it on different machines you see real quick how well CbB adheres to windows scaling, convictions, API, ect. Studio One not so much. And I can imagine lots of other DAW's conceived on a Mac then brought over to Windows platform are about the same. IOW, Windows to them isn't that important. Case in point, I use CbB on my main machine and my Surface. I never even knew that there was a scaling issue between the two machines until Sonar went down, and I tried to work with SO3. On my music PC where I have a 1920x1080 27" and it works OK GUI wise. But when I try to open SO on my Surface, if I leave it at the resolution it wants to run at, the GUI is just too small. I have to use Magnifier all the time just to be able to use it. With CbB/Sonar, there was never an issue. It runs at the correct resolution that my machine is set to, with no GUI hickups. If I try to change SO to what I need to be able to see, it displays everything all f'd up. Plugin windows are either huge or too small to see. Text cut off, stuff like that. Reaper is not as bad as SO, but it still has it's little quirks too. I just never really tried to work with these other DAW's till Sonar went down. SO when Bandlab picked it up, whew! Thank God! : )
-
But I thought all that was behind us!?
-
But surely PA has a marketing guy in or for the US!? And they let that slip by?
-
I am reading that 8k is around the corner. But will Windows fully support that high a resolution? Let alone DAW maker's, and (oh my!) plugin makers? And the only DAW I know to fully support/follow Windows convictions is CbB. The rest give a half hearted effort (except Reaper. They follow a close second to CbB) So if we stay with the staus- quo, things will get so small, nobody will be able to see (insert choice word here)!
