Nice song you got there Gary. Agree with Steve on the mix. Could use another go at it to bring things out more clearly. All instruments sound good, and like Steve said, the squeeze box sounds good. Like it will be one of the highlights of the song if you can get it to stand out a little more without overpowering the strumming guitar, which has a good tone to it. Maybe add a little more mid-highs to it? IDK, just thinking what I would reach for if I was sitting at the desk!

@msmcleod Yeah I am going to get use to it too, eventually!! @Piotr How did you get the dark look? What skin is that? Carbonite? (That's the one I use. ) How well does it work? I am thinking and hoping I can use the Carbonite skin and not fiddle around with the knobs and sliders and I maybe ok.

Has anyone went with the new '13' update? They have a new 'Look' and am wondering how everyone is liking it? It seems they have decided to use /Sliders, Buttons, and knobs all together in the new 'Look'. With that bright color scheme that everyone seems to be moving to. And only some of the alternate skins work with it. They are saying that the skins that don't work ain't high on the priority list of things that will get fixed. To me this means "You will take it and like it!" From the Melda 13 Release Notes page: There's a new style (Neon), which is enforced as default style and everything is designed to work well with this style "out of the box". This includes everything from basic components to various graphs and analyzers. Previous style settings are ignored now. If you feel the need to get your style settings back, it is not recommended, but you can hack the engine by going to the user settings folder (where the presets are) and copy StyleSettingsV11.cfg to StyleSettingsV13.cfg in proper folders. Note that other styles may not work that well compared to Neon. While we are going to slowly improve other styles as well, it has a low priority. Neon is the new "look" of Melda plugins.

Thanks for the response Kenny. I am going to make an assumption that the pick is on the small side, not a large pick, am I correct? And I am not familiar with that guitar. Looks Fenderish.

@Myriad Rocker type the "at" symbol and type a person's forum name and it will send a notification to them. Will give a listen later on. -
First thought was Wow! Great mixing and mastering on this. Sound hit me in the face right off the bat. : ) The only thing I heard was at the end when the other voices came in with the lead vocal, they all kind of got lost. Couldn't understand what was being said. Not as clear as the main vocal was. All in all a great effort. Excellent mix and EQ'ing!! Or would that be called..... Mastering!

Love the EP!! Good song. You cut it off when it was getting good!!

Agree with amiller!! Big yes fan too. Good job Tim. Really like that kind of music. And you were right, it did twist here and there. Not what I was really expecting when I started to listen.

Killer song man!! Was that you? Your band? If not pass, on to them Rock on MoFo's!! If your just mixing, you have done an excellent job with guitars and vocals. Clear and driving crunch. I don't think the compression is too much. Just right I'd say. But the low end as you and others have said is lacking. I would like to hear the next version to see if you can keep the driving crunch of the guitars and up the low end. Good luck. Keep us up to date!! I am on my third listen! -
I liked it too. Nice guitar tone. Hope everything works out for you and your wife.

Just listened to the first 30 seconds or so and really nice. BTW, love the tag you put on topic!! : ) LOL Did you do the backing trk? What guitar did you use? (listening to it again. Nice. But only two minutes??) Mic'd amp or straight into the box? What kind of pick you using? Smooth attack. I got lots more questions but that enough for now!!

@h3kkeBut I got Sample Tank 4Max. I must have bought it then. But when!?? : )

You can try to reset then scan your plugins. Preferences/ File/VST Settings and you will see the Reset button. After you press that if CbB doesn't start to rescan automatically, click the Scan button and let it run. See if that works. I have Black Box and Maag 4. They are working on my Surface pro.

I did the same thing Matt. Will give it a try later to see if I get your results.

Gonna watch that one Mike.

What is not included in the Total Studio Max? Can anyone answer that question? I can't tell from looking at my account.
-
Been looking at Retro Color for a while. At $40 that's the best I seen on it. But I have already spent too much on plugins this week. And I said I wasn't going to buy anymore!!

That Black Box is a winner.

John, just to throw this out there too.... I know a lot of very talented musicians who can't write a song to save their life. They can play almost anything you put in front of them. The ability to write and craft a song is a special talent. Don't let it go to waste. Heck, the ability to write lyrics is an art unto itself!

Ok. If you insist! : )

YEs. I agree here. When I want a new toy, I'll go look for what I want and get it. I don't need or want my DAW to provide every tool I need. That's what vst's are for!!
-
But the fact is, nobody pointed that out.

I think they sell it on the dark web though!!
