  1. I'm with ya on that Larry. But the way I use the J37 is I keep the noise to the very minimum. It's the response after feeding the signal into the machine that I like. I don't use wow and flutter much either. Same way woith AR Vinyl. Don't add much of the clicks or noise, just like feeding the signal through. (And I love just playing around with that slowdown button!!)

    "On Your Way"

I like this Bat. Nice arrangement. I have listened to your stuff before and was always impressed with your drum trks. they don't sound like they are played on a grid. Sounds loose and allows the song to breathe. Vocals in some of the places in the front of the song reminded me of CSNY, and at other places in the song almost Styx like. Your guitar work sounds like you. You got your sound down. And I like it.

    Reason Why, pop rock

Agreed. Same with the cymbal. Some rvb (like Tom suggested) would blend it in and make it more distant, and lower the volume on it. Maybe even alternate the cymbal sample with a few others to help give it a wider spectrum. I did start listening to this on my cell phone and I can tell you, I heard those cymbals above everything else. Listening at work here on regular speakers and the cymbals wasn't as pronounced. But still a little too up front. Forgot to add : Nice song.
  4. Good song, good work. You did the video? I will hold off coment of the video until I can see it at home on a good connection, not this mobile one I am on here at work. Song I thought was really good. I liked the Autotune stuff. Fit right in, wasn't too over done, gave a little 'Ahhh' moment! She does have a good voice. Very pleasing. I thought the bass was good on my end listening here at work through some JVC's. Good mix, great production.

When they gonna send the vouchers?
  6. Agree 100% on this. I have it and was really impressed from the start. And if the new IK Tape Emu's are better than that.... that's pretty d**n good!!
  7. That's how I found the Leslie sim. It was a good cut above what I already had.

    New EZ Keys MIDI

Yep, might be time for a six pack... I'm out.
  14. IF they sound as good as the Leslie Collection...... I'm in!
  15. I have to admit, I thought of this too.
  16. I think it sounds good. But there are some parts where I couldn't quite make out what the vocals were saying. Squeeze box sounds good. And drums have more definition.
  17. Agreed. The first mix, after all the constructive criticism I have given, would sell on it's own I do believe.

    C'mon C'mon

Agree. When we let our songs go, it's up to the world to interpret them the way they want. Nice song kloon. About 2:14 there is a synth that comes in that has some really nice 'space' to it. Sounds good. Might want to add that from the beginning. I just thought it gave the song a new dimension. As for the vocals, after reading SPAK's post I would have to agree with him on this. Except for me it only applies to the first few minutes of the song. As it went on the vocals just got more 'relaxed' and smooth. The harmony vocal is really good. Good clean mix. Was listening to it on my studio monitors.
  19. Myriad, I finally got to listen to this on my studio monitors (KRK V6) and I can hear lots more detail. In fact I can hear the bass in my monitors much better. And he is playing note for note!! He's really good and tight! But what I am hearing in the bass player on my monitors is not being transferred to those other systems I was listening on. And therein lies the problem. Transfering what we hear in our studio to the outside world. It's an art, keep working at it. Just wanted to give you a heads up on it.
  20. Agree with you Mike. Melda is a great company. And think their plugins are some of the best bang for buck out there. I just thought that they changed the default color to this bright green, which threw me for a loop as it was so unlike them!! I am so glad I was wrong.
  21. You have the R button press/engaged? This button tells the trk to read the automation.
  22. LOL!! I bought some for the girls about three Christmas's ago, and they love the dang things!! That's all they want to wear. But they want me to buy them!! I ain't even gonna tell ya what I paid for them socks!! @emeraldsoul I must be honest, I was put off by the title (pic didn't help either!). Then I looked at the length of the song...almost 5 minutes!! But I gave it a shot and to my benefit, I really enjoyed it. Excellent job on everything. Comical but deep lyrics! Great beat, real good keyboard work. Great mix too!! And by the end of the song I wanted the story to keep going!! Those 15 minutes went by like that!! : )
  23. To me it is, because I have played bass (I am not a bass player!) in bands before. I can hear that he is following the guitar or kick note for note. That's why I didn't hear it before. He's really good.

    Simon's Song

Would have to agree with Steve on the accordion, that sounds really sweet. I kept waiting for the vocal!! For the drums they could use a little clarity. Just a little. Cause they sitting well right now with the squeeze box.
