    If this helps:

    I am a CW user.

    I am a SO5 user.

    I am a Instacomposer user.

    It's good info to know that a feature of InstaComposer works in CW but not SO.

    So there is some redeeming value in this thread. 

    As far as should Ted have asked this question in the SO forums and not here, he may have felt more at ease here. Once he found out that it wasn't a common problem with all users,  just SO users, he may have gone to that site at that time.

    We kinda easy going around here. It's all cool.

    I got the mems mic from IK. $49 after JP. It was $13 to ship along with a cable I ordered, so it is a little expensive to ship here in USA.

    Have taken just one correct set of 21 measurements for a project studio. The difference is apparent. 

    Haven't used themes mic in Mic Room yet, but I will give it a shot. I am very interested in finding out.

    How are you able to add parts to a soft synth/drum vst track and hear parts you've already recorded when recording your additional parts?

    I may be wrong, but I don't think it is possible with CW. I remember someone was complaining about not being able to create a clip in loop mode. Each time it would loop the part you already created won't be heard. 

    In fact I have tried this before and I couldn't get it to work. 

    Things may have changed that I am not aware of.  

    But you could see if you could create a new midi track (not a lane on the same trk) and route its output to AD and see if you hit record that AD will still play your previous midi.

    Post back with your outcome.

    @msmcleodnever thought about singing into the wrong side. Thanks for that info. I just took it that it would be obvious,  but with bitflippers story... got me wondering for sure.

    @bitflipper   Also excellent point about the USB power not being sufficient. I checked to make sure it was (and it is) USB 2.0 compliant,  but didn't think about the power required by the mic. That is a point to check into. Again, I took it for granted that it would supply the needed power. 

    I thank everyone for the responses.

    This person I am helping has health issues that would not be good if they caught Covid. So I cannot go there and look at the situation,  we are doing it over text and cell phone. 

    Again, I greatly appreciate all the input from everyone.  It all helps.

    I will update when I get more info.

    I saw them for the first time on the Animals tour back in '77 (?). They played the whole Animals album, then took a break and came back out and played Wish You Were Here in it's entirety. They had the movie for both sets behind them palying with the music. Was really unbelievable! They took another break and came back out and played some songs from DSOTM, Breath, Time, Money, Eclipse.

    It was the best concert ever!!

    I don't think those suggestions will ever be implemented. These forum discussions (AKA FAQ) drive these sales!! If they had a place to have all their questions answered, not many would hang around here for the answer!! And the more you hang around here.... you get the idea!!

    Think about it, by this time last year we were all contemplating what the BF outstanding buys would be, who would have the best deals, and what to put on our 'wish list'!! With IK's over the top and best ever GB sale going on.... BF became just a passing thought!

    Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and Rodes NT1 Advice

    I have someone who is trying to record vocals with this combo Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and Rodes NT1 (into a Mac with Logic). 

    They keep getting muffled vocals, like someone has a lite weight blanket draped over the mic.

    I haven't never used any of these  products. I am just seeking anyone's experience with a Scallet or a Rodes mic if there are any little quirks that I don't know of.

     

    Checked the specs of both the Scarlett and the mic to see if there is a mismatch, but I am not seeing anything that would help me.

    Agreed. ST4 really has some nice sounding guitars in it believe it or not. Comes with some good loops too. It also has a strum engine that allows you to edit the strum patterns.
