The tracks whose measures aren't being deleted were empty already so there was nothing to delete and as a result, the hole was not deleted. The tracks whose measures are being deleted had events of one form or another in them so they were deleted and then the hole was deleted.

Split your simple instrument track to a midi and an audio track. Then you can insert the mfx on the midi track.

I have better luck with vst2, if a plug ever crashes on me, it's a vst3, not a vst2.

Because Realtek is not a formidable audio interface.

IMHO, the two best are Slate VTM and Softube Tape.

Use the Focusrite native driver and uninstall ASIO4ALL.
