  1. I took a writing break and did my first cover song . Gary Clark Jr.'s Take me down south. I had a corrupt project that took me forever to finish. Any suggestions will be great. I'll remove the song afterwards. I did it just to keep for myself. Weapons - Godin Lapatrie , G&L asat , Homemade lap steel , old blues harp , SI drums . Thanks .. mark https://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/down-south-cover
  2. If it's a vocal track your editing you can also use melodyne (if you have it) and just delete the noise blobs. I'll do that on minor stuff since I'm going to use melodyne anyway. If you don't have it , it's a great tool to get .. ms
  3. Again .. Fantastic. Your acoustic talents and vocals make me want to hear more like this. This shure wasn't your basic strumming . A bigger fan now.. mark
  4. Lee , this one had a great feel. Perfect choice for the vocal harmony's on the Great choruses . The lead break and organ were A1. It wasn't an abrupt ending but I think a longer fade out would be nicer. Enjoyed it .. mark
  5. It all started loading Th3 in a track using a home built lap slide with an apparent ground problem. I developed a mild hiss when my left hand and slide were on the strings and when right hand touched the metal pickup cover (minor). Loading amps made it get Real Bad . I found an acceptable amp , but got a blue screen crash with recovery file when I loaded a cabinet. Rebooted and everything seemed OK. Ran a ground wire on my instrument . I recorded the track , then recorded the now "mild" hiss and removed it from the track using ReaFir. I'm now in the final mix stage with Way too many strange things happen in this project to even mention after the crash. I probably should have started working in the recovery file . I guess my question is Could a ground problem in an instrument cause a Major blue screen software crash ? I sure have learned a lot of workarounds trying to finish a corrupt project.. Thanks mark

    3 am

Smooth .. The first half gave me more of a sense of awe and wonderment than anything creepy , when the second half came in I got it. One part took me to a blade runner feeling. Lots of cool stuff here to like. Enjoyed it very much.. mark
  7. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and fantastic comments. You always help me identify problem areas I'm not aware of. I really appreciate the Boz Scaggs references , definitely take that as a compliment. I love doing instrumentals but I've started working harder on vocal songs before my Old voice kicks the bucket for good. Thanks again ... mark
  8. Hey John , very nice song I think that was a great arrangement . I sure wish I had your vocal range. Enjoyed it .. mark
  9. Sven , I really liked the way you made this dark song sound so cheerful. Made me smile .. Loved it. mark
  10. That is an incredibly sweet and dreamy guitar tone. Are you using the chorus effect from the delay pedal at all ? The knob looked like it was all the way down , or up .. Very nice. Thanks mark

    So Cold ..

Here's an acoustic ballad I've been going back and forth with for a while. Shortened it a few times but now settled on this longer version. Fictional lost love break up song from a guy getting the last word in , but too tired to get excited . Any feedback welcome. Thanks for the listen .. mark https://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/so-cold
  12. Nice collection of songs. I thought you did a great job on recording the acoustics , especially on "I will" The acoustic was so clean on this one it felt like it was right in front of me. Great job .. mark
  13. Chappel , Nice composition ! sounds like its' ready to drop the walking bass line a few db and lay down some vocals.
  14. Yes , old programs I've used since windows 98 and XP were the norms. I went to plugin mngr. and checked my scan path. Showing up as C not C x86 . Looking at the files , I've got the same exact .Dll files for the 64 bit CbB as I do for my old 32 bit programs , nothing telling me about 32 or 64 bit , so I guess my question is still unanswered. I think we've about beaten this topic to death , but their may be some clues here somewhere. Thanks for your help ... mark
  15. My old programs were boxed "32 bit only" from the early XP days. Nothing from the command center. I just wanted to know how to tell if CbB was using the 64 or the 32 bit version of TTS since they are both installed.
  16. If you have No daws installed do you get the 64 bit TTS with CbB. ? I don't have access to any 64 bit Sonar programs. If I "really" need my 32bit stuff I use it in a 32bit program then just import the audio to the CbB project. mark

    Popping sounds

Bounce to clips then freezing the synth normally fixes issue for me. If I get a good copy after the freeze mixdown , I will bounce this to a new stereo track if I feel the midi or synth track is going to stay glitchy.
  18. I'm in a project now with 3 midi tracks to different instruments in TTS. all done with midi controller. TTS has "never" crashed but this one feels like its going to. Getting a lot of pops and glitchy playback. Freezing synth fixed playback. Besides CbB , I only have 32bit Sonar programs installed. How do I tell if I'm using 64 or wrapped 32 bit TTS. ? ms
  19. Top notch musicianship ! Those were killer grooves and mix. The songs sounded like what I listen to daily from a local college owned jazz and blues radio station featuring top artists. Very impressive .. mark
  20. Thanks , I guess I didn't grasp dragging it to my desktop the first time thru. mark
  21. Scook , Si drums and TTS piano are the only 2 midi tracks in the 10 track project so far. I thought there might be an easy way to copy a midi track and send it to another synth on a different pc or use it in a different project on the same pc. I may not be making myself clear or it may not be as easy as I thought it should be. me
  22. I've finished and edited a single midi piano track . I would like to put the track on a flash drive , load it on a different pc at a friends house (better synth). I could then bring it back to my project as an audio file. I'm not sure about the best way to do this. If it's a pain I could do a complete project bundle file . Thanks for any help . mark
  23. Are you collapsing the comp. and eq modules as small as they will go ?
  24. Akira , If you are moving midi notes in piano roll view , you should be able to move your cursor on the note until you get the move icon . Solid line with left/right arrows on it. Left click and hold then move it left or right if that's what your trying to do. If you are using the smart tool you just move it to different places on the note to do different functions. No need to change tools. Also , if you are trying to move a note 1/16 or whatever , make sure your snap to grid setting at the top right of the prv page will allow you to move it as you like. If this isn't you problem , post some more information . mark
  25. Steve , I really liked the bass line and the Steele Dan feel on the guitars. Think it could have had more bottom end on the kick but all in all another Great job ! mark
