  1. Wow lots of responses! I want to take my time to go over each one. The strange thing is that this is an old project that worked before and now doesn't. And yet my template which is also old works and shows the inspector. I would use the template to start a new project but at this stage I'm mostly just remixing old projects
  2. Thanks again for everyone's input. D is a great shortcut, I didn't know about that before. There's still something fishy about my project, all I can think is that it's some kind of bug. I compared with my template which shows the inspector and it looks exactly the same except there's no inspector and no pull bar or whatever you call it it in my project, no response from the shortcut I. I don't think there's anything left to test. I know someone told me to float the view but it's just not comfortable for me.
  3. Thanks, I thought it must have been something like that. I've never used or understood floating and docking. I hate to be dense but I'm still not getting it. If I right click console down in the lower left docking area it gives me the choice of undocking the console view. How do I set it up without floating, that seems too messy to me? I've always just gone back and forth between track and console with shortcuts.
  4. Am I missing something in the screenshot? Clicking the inspector in view doesn't help. How do I open a support ticket?
  5. Thanks for your responses, a new project works fine, I wasn't using a template because I was just editing old projects, latest version of sonar, other shortcuts work and I'm using the I shortcut, the default, I think it may be collapsed but there's no drag bar to expand it, it is docked and I have the free version so no workspaces, I've never used them. There's something about no drag bar visible, I think that's the key but I don't know what to do about it
  6. Thanks for those responses, I'm away from my computer but will check tomorrow and report back.
  7. I posted about this before and didn't get it figured out. I thought it must be just that one particular project but here it is again in a new project. I've checked views, hidden tracks, the shortcut doesn't work. Any other ideas? Thank you
  8. Got it, thanks for the help!
  9. Thanks, I knew there was something else. I'm away from my computer now but will check it out tomorrow. It seems like some of those obscure settings changed when I moved from CBB to sonar. In fact I'm working on Old projects and I don't even remember creating those automation Lanes to begin with!
  10. I deleted all automation envelopes & it still doesn't stop. What else causes this? Thanks.
  11. Yes I tried the default shortcut, now that my computer now but I will try screen set one. Thanks.
  12. I don't use workspaces, it suddenly doesn't show either with my shortcut or the default shortcut or by going to views & selecting. In addition this project stopped responding to my console & track shortcuts. Any ideas? Thanks.
  13. Thanks, does that mean the Bell is a Windows issue and not sonar? I guess I meant how often I save my edits after a certain number of changes. It's not in front of me right now so I forget exactly what it's called. Actually I have one more question and I was just about to edit my original post, sonar keeps looking in the wrong directory to load FX chain presets. Is there a way to set it to the right directory for future projects?
  14. Still getting used to the new computer as well as various sonar updates. How do I stop ringing bell sound when I bounce tracks? Also I set my backup preferences but it seems to be very slow in the process, is that normal? Thanks.
  15. Thanks Glenn!
  16. OK thanks!
  17. I don't see an option for the Use Per-Project Audio Folders checkbox in preferences/file/audio data. Am I missing something? Thanks
  18. Okay thank you!
  19. new computer & insatllation... I keep getting this pop-up multiple times on startup, even though I've uninstalled the vst. Any way to fix this? Thanks.
  20. Okay I got it, thank you!
  21. I just noticed it's sitting there, can I free up some space safely by deleting it? Just not sure about shared plugins with sonar. Thank you.
  22. Thanks again everyone, I do have the old computer and we'll see what I can do with that. Good idea to search for cwp files
  23. Thanks for all of your replies. It's a new computer with a new hard drive, I had a computer shop do the transfer for me. So they should have copied all of my personal files like music and pictures to the new computer. Maybe they're there but I just can't find them and neither can sonar. I just remembered I do have a backup so maybe I can move the latest backup project files over to the new computer, that would be a simple fix. I've just been overwhelmed because Windows 11's looks so much different from Windows 10 to my eyes, at least the file structure. I do have a download folder for plugins but didn't keep track of authorization numbers. Most of them are small and many of them free. Thanks again for your interest
  24. I was dreading this for a long time but I finally had to do it. I can't find all of my projects in window 11, they're certainly not in the same file system as before. I did a search for one and nothing turned up. A second question is if I ever get this straightened out, all of those plugins or most of them need to be reinstalled. At this point I'm thinking of simplifying and just choosing the few that are most useful. Any advice on finding the projects or on how you handle all of those plugins we've acquired over the years? Thank you
