  1. so plugin alliance are having a X-mas (I think they mean Christmas ?) sale Prices are worse than their $29.99 deals so I don't really know why anybody would bother ? for example the Amek EQ is $199 (gasp) plus you won't get your loyalty codes this month (thanks for doing us a huge X-mas (!) favour) I'm not going to post the deal or codes because they aren't good - so visit PA if you care Merry X-mas
  2. totally off topic - as my bundle is due for WUP soon - I notice there are sneaky ways to do the WUP. If I look at my account there are 'upgrades' that cost much less than the WUP cost... The 'upgrade' also gives you a years WUP. Too late now but worth checking next time ? (dunno if that makes sense?)
  3. yes - you have to go to the waves website and 'update to newest version' - then reinstall. You can save some download time and bandwith if you untick the samples from the virtual instruments (about 30gig in HD !)
  4. reminds me of the old joke.... "what do you call somebody who hangs around musicians ?" (I'll leave it there)
  5. the contrast is terrible - that seems like a really easy fix. When I first got it I emailed support because I thought it was a bug....apparently not - they like it like that ?
  6. what about those new ToonTrack products that are in the pipeline ?
  7. Love Jamstix - the developer is deathly slow at releasing fixes and updates but he's promised another update before the end of the year ..... edit at that price just get the full package, you'll thank me later - although you'll be too busy dealing with the MASSIVE learning curve
  8. just remind me - is the the developer that had all those plugins that had viruses in them ?
  9. I found it totally depends on the track and what you want to do with it. I've lifted vocals from a track and they have been pretty good. Pulling out a piano or drums is less successful for me. It splits the stems into layers and if you add the layers together they are identical to the original - the artefacts 'cancel out'. This means if you just want to pull the vocal down a bit or eq then I think it's useable. It does remove the vocal AND it's reverb as part of the unmix - which is less useful than just the dry vocal. definitely try the demo, on the right material the unmix thing is amazing.

    Alright...

this was a focusrite/novation freebie a month or so back
  11. I wouldn't be surprised to see more than one. At the very least there will be the 'Big Daddy', I suspect If Waves have given that away for free then I bet they didn't spend a lot of Dev time on in - it will be a cut down version of what is coming next. "If you enjoyed that free taster" etc etc
  12. just a Sunday bump The plugin in the original video (ie that one ^^^^^^) isn't the CLA EchoSphere apart from being a different colour (is there a dark option) the layout is different and if that's the same window on the left of his hat, then it's much bigger.
  13. Bottom line is that it all needs backing up so the failing part 'should' be irrelevant. I prefer not to use PCIe SATA boards if possible but most modern motherboards have 6 or 8 SATA ports so hopefully not needed anyway.
  14. I'm in the UK so maybe things are slightly different. Looking at the Samsung 860/870 the 4/8TB are marginally cheaper per TB....but it's close
  15. (just noting that all the APD links on there are affiliate links - it's clearly marked on the VI:Control thread) ?
  16. same principle with the 4 and 8TB versions Larry's deals means I am running out of disk space ....
  17. are you still on myspace ? ?
  18. Looks like you've got a great setup over there at The Shed ?

  20. another nice freebie thanks for the heads up CCL
  21. mine came through pretty quickly this morning - I'd suggest you resubmit your email address on the website - won't do any harm
  22. although only 2gig ...but still good
  23. unfortunately that was the library that put me over the 90% full mark on my "samples" disk - so now I have a big red warning in the "my computer" screen time to do some housekeeping
