Today we have launched the third track off our new Kiss of Storms album.

It’s called The Trouble with Our World.

Initially when we posted this up on YouTube, they blocked it – apparently inappropriate content!!

So we had to appeal this and eventually they posted it – honestly YouTube is getting ridiculous!

    Hope you enjoy it.

You can see the lyrics here

And the whole album is available on Spotify

We’ve updated our website as well – we’ve got our own store now where you can get music and merchandise!!

Outstanding work Nigel! Great composition, performance, and production, thought provoking message and video also!

Hi all. This songs has two parts. The parts are the same song presented two different ways, each about 3 minutes long.

The first part is "Life" which is a straight forward, band-type version. I used Arturia's new, free VST (until January 4, 2024 I think) Efx Refract on the bass and the electric piano.  The second part is called "Afterlife" which I posted here a few months ago as a piece called "Life" (ridiculous, I know....sorry....) which is just a syncopated, improvised on the piano roll piano and percussion version. Happy New Year!????

Nice work Larry, very relaxing vibe. I just downloaded that EFX Refract also, looking forward to putting it through the paces!

  4. Happy New Year everyone! In the spirit of the season, here's a new version I did of the familiar holiday classic Auld Lang Syne. Based on a poem by Scottish poet Robert Burns, the title essentially refers to the remembrance of times past. As we draw close to the year's end, it is such an ideal time to do just that, and also to reflect on the hope and expectation of things yet to come.

Here's wishing you and yours a fond recollection of the year past, and a happy and prosperous New Year!

I’m using the latest Korg Kronos midi driver and it is working on a track in Cakewalk. The problem I’m having is the controller data coming from the Kronos faders (1-8 faders) are not sending controller CC data. Oddly, the mod wheel and pitch bend on the Kronos work without issue.

When I use the Kronos in Pro Tools and Studio One, I do not have this issue.  It’s seems like something really simple, I’m just not sure why it’s not passing the controller data for the Kronos through Cakewalk.

Anyone have an idea where I’m going wrong here?

    Thanks,

    Steve

That's odd. I have a Kronos and it registers all controller movements including sliders without incident

  6. This is a collaboration I just finished up with some friends over on Soundcloud, J.J. Terrell and Josh Clary. J.J. composed this beautiful tune on piano, and asked me to contribute lyrics/vocals. I did all the final mixing/mastering in CbB.

We didn't originally intend this to be a Thanksgiving song per se, but it kind of worked out that way! Hope you enjoy!

J.J. Terrell - Original Music Score, Arrangement, Piano, Cello, Strings
Ross Smithe - Original Lyrics, Vocals, Mixing/Mastering/Production
    Josh Clary - Mandolin, Bass

It's very interesting piece of textual sounds in a well crafted composition. This sounds like it could be used as a background track for film or television.

Thanks Corey, appreciate the listen and feedback!

  9. I definitely "put my back" into this one! I don't really know how to categorize this. Basically started with a beat and some ambient synth and vocal textures (all vocs except the really high voice are my voice, not synth/samples), and took off from there. Kind of ambient-beat-rock, I guess? Anyway, I really enjoyed putting this together, and I hope you enjoy listening as well! Be sure to listen through to the end to catch a fun little mash-up, "Who" might it be?? ?

What we need is love indeed...

Haven't heard this one in a good long while.  Everything is beautiful here from the vocal to the synth coming in, to the mandolin.  You truly captured the meaning of the original for sure.  Nice work!
