Mudgel and marld I think I mentioned my situation before. I went though an "episode" that really threw me for a loop. I understand about getting back into some kind of a routine again. I know we aren't the only ones here. I am aware of several more who had some major life setbacks. life changes. Loss of spouses, health issues, financial setbacks, stolen gear just to name a few. It feels like you're trying to get back to where you were and instead you're dealing with a new normal. The "new normal" seems to take an adjustment for creative types- or anyone. I'm not the same person I was before all of that happened, so I'm dealing with a "different me". The new me doesn't seem as spontaneous . I'm trying to loosen up. I think it comes back slowly though.

Jim that's great! Update.I brought the item back to my local GC. Explained the issue. He still had to plug it in to verify everything I told him. Yep, blown speaker. The refund was made. The person working at this GC even credited me the shipping fees. I don't know what else they could have done under the circumstances. I felt bad that the dude at my local GC was stuck with this. Apparently they have a repair center they crate and ship gear off to. That's where this was headed according to him. The fault lies somewhere else at another GC in the chain. If your reading this and you work at GC, just make sure you check the gear out well before you take it in ? Negligence was involved, but there's no point in going any further. Wouldn't matter anyhow. At my local GC these guys try hard. It's a big organization with a lot of branches. I guess it just depends on the staff and the deal. I guess in the other mentioned cases you guys seem to be counting on inexperience lol....In some cases it seems to be they pay $$ for it. They need this much $$ to justify the sale...beyond that the details could really work in your favor. I have seen them look on the web for pricing on gear, then they pay you less than that to buy it from you obviously. Likely all based on percentages for the buy and the sell. It's a music pawn shop on the used end. Probably less flexibility on the new end.

I believe this is a Phase inversion pug in. The reverb looks a little wet though.

It's a sad ongoing process I suppose. First you can't find them and then you forget you have them. I stand in support of nuts everywhere. Well ok, I only support my own, but have great sympathy for others.

I think you need to also download CbB...

Hi Jim, Thanks for bringing this up. I would not want to mislead anyone. Unfortunately it looks like Audio to MIDI begins with the Assistant version according to this MELODYNE VERSIONS I recently updated my Melodyne and the upgrade was only 49.95. I'm not making any promises here, but if you add your email to their mailing list you could possibly get a sweeter deal or can at least be on the list for promotions. I use the Editor edition that I bought on sale originally awhile back. I think the studio version of the program will allow multiple tracks. I would love to have it but the asking price is a little steep for me right now. FYI- If you right click on a stereo recorded audio track in Cakewalk there is a "convert to mono" choice. I always had an interest to try out Band in A Box. I hear it's a great program to work in. Just been too busy to look at it

It is my unprofessional opinion here that Mr. Squirrel has some kind of a blockage. I will be closely monitoring the trees above me from now on.

And eggs are chicken.............deposits. We sort of caught Mr. Peanut at a bad time. Probably should not have shown this. Thank goodness the paparazzi didn't get hold of it....yet. Mr. peanut has been caught in some other unfortunate circumstances...but that's enough said already.

Thanks! I am always open to any new ideas on how to best utilize this. The ability to do this is an amazing thing! Humming would work just as well. I like that I can take my very bad sounding violin signal and make it presentable with a few minor tweaks. The sky is the limit on what can be done really. I didn't add any additional expression into this or tweak any of the VSTi . TBH I'm probably not the best person for that subject. Maybe a subject you could cover in a later video? I usually stop at velocity and the mod wheel. Most of the time it sounds fairly realistic without any additional added tweaking.

I know most veterans here already know this. I made a video for a violin forum to show them how to convert a recorded track. I am posting this here for newbs. You don't really need to make a separate midi track. I mainly do this so I have a spare midi always on hand to work with. As you will hear, the track is pretty badly recorded and the conversion still picked up over 95% of the notes accurately. The rest could be edited in midi for correction. For anyone who needs to convert to notation, this is WAY easier than typing in entire scores to a notation program if you can play fairly accurately. If you know of alternate ways to do this or shortcuts to the process please chime in. Thanks.

I watched this last evening. I think I'm going to wait until Mar 29th to buy it. Better yet, wait a year and pay 20 more dollars. Maybe they will have more of the issues figured out by then. I don't make the kinds of mixes that would use a lot of this. So far he is having issues with a few of my go to synth programs. I don't wanna hear, it works with this and that but doesn't work with these. Presently a useful program for a few who have enough in that toolkit already.

Interesting mix of ideas! I might try to pull the drums in just a tad. Seemed slightly off here and there. More accentuated accents, especially with regard to the bass, would give this a more varied dynamics range.

The guitar is such a great instrument for self expression. These one on ones (vocal + guitar) can seem to come directly from the soul. The message of the song will likely resonate with some. I had a little trouble finding the structure of the song though I think the intended message came through and overall the vocals fit the guitar well.. The vocals could use some tuning or retakes here and there, they were off just a tad here and there. Not by much. Thanks for sharing!

I like this style of composition. You are very good with the drums programming and parts layering. Omnisphere is an amazing kit of sounds to work with. I love BFD3 as well. The music doesn't take any unexpected departures. Having said that, I think you do a lot with it! I thought the cymbals were just a little too much panned, especially the left cymbal channel. As a suggestion, maybe let just a little bleed through come over to the right channel for the cymbals. This would give it more space and still retain the left/right feel.

Well..........I guess I feel bad for the poor rabbits, but this is the process of life for some rabbits and the way of the omnivore. We all have to eat. I have eaten rabbit and liked it. No it didn't taste like chicken, but close. It just sucks being a rabbit or a chicken or a pig or a ........... Well chosen footage for the subject. I didn't feel that the musical "middle" was huge. I could tell it was there. Made a nice contrast from the rest. This would just be a nice listen all by itself.

Well so I did the speed read of the protocol and I agree it's exciting for sure. A few things I would love to see. A DAW control surface that instantly sets itself up to every control in the DAW, maybe a hub that converts some devices from midi 1.0 to midi 2.0 (I kinda doubt that one.) Way more than 128 velocity layers ( this one is likely). I am very glad I haven't bought that Komplete Kontrol yet......the grass is probably greener in this case. NAMM 2021-2022 could yield some amazing capable new midi gear!! MIDI 2.0 cerebral cortex implants are probably a few years off yet.

I'll need to read over this. Should be backwards compatible. Yamaha had their version of midi, Roland had theirs. Will this help to pull the standards together better? I'm a little afraid to look at it for fear my eyes will glaze over. I'll look anyways. If you don't hear back from me I nodded off.

I keep thinking about some of those old synths that bring a mint now and a few guitars I should have held onto....so I just started to hang on to my gear, even if I don't use it often. You never know what the draw will be to it in 10-20 years. A few of those VSTi users are drooling over something they can simply plug in, push a few buttons and play. You can still buy synths but they seem to be getting more and more flimsy.
