Thank You Jack. Merry Christmas ? ?
-
Thanks Ross. The Efx Refract is pretty amazing. The huge amount of choices available it gives the user to shape the sounds is really nice.

Hi all. This songs has two parts. The parts are the same song presented two different ways, each about 3 minutes long. The first part is "Life" which is a straight forward, band-type version. I used Arturia's new, free VST (until January 4, 2024 I think) Efx Refract on the bass and the electric piano. The second part is called "Afterlife" which I posted here a few months ago as a piece called "Life" (ridiculous, I know....sorry....) which is just a syncopated, improvised on the piano roll piano and percussion version. Agree with all the above. Great additions you wrote into the music and arrangement????
-
Good stuff. I think a better name might be Sapphire Pool, from the photo????
-
Thanks Bjorn. Yes, I agree with you and jack. I just got burned out on this one....will revisit soon and see about adding to it. Although I don't think it's that bad as is though.
-
Thanks jack. I don't disagree with you, I'll probably come back to this piece later to add more stuff. Although I don't think it's that bad as is though.
-
Thanks Nigel. Yes, gonna love me some buses from now on, lol!
-
Thanks. Yes, I never realized busses are a great way to beef up the tone/presence of a particular instrument as opposed to using only four or five aux sends.
-
Here's Radiance. This is the first track I've used bus's on which is pretty weird since I've been doing this DAW thing since October of 2021, lol???? link: https://larryterrano.bandcamp.com/track/radiance DAW: Cakewalk by Bandlab pc: windows 10, i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz, 8GB ram, DI electric guitar, DI bass, arturia minilab mkII, arturia analog lab 5 lite, SI Drums by CbB effects reference speakers: M-Audio BX3

Cool song. Sounds great. All instruments very clear and well recorded. Great vocal as well????
-
Well done Bjorn. Nice parts put together in all the right places. The Addictive Drums parts at the end makes for a nice, unexpected, addition; the volume you mixed them at was the right choice????
-
Faithful rendition done exceptionally well. Nice vocal. The tone of the bass is really nice????
-
Outstanding music and astrophotography as usual. Thanks for sharing this Jerry????
-
Excellent. Your voice and how you deliver it is quite beautiful, it holds the whole composition together. Nice mellow pop song with a steady foundation and lots of interesting flourishes to create an interesting musical journey. I like the guitar bits and the other instrumental accents????
-
Nice soundscape Wookiee. Your mix sounds excellent, as usual????
-
Nice work John. We all hear things a bit differently, my ears hear that the drums could be up a dB or two and the vocal, which works very nicely, could be up around 1dB in certain parts????
-
Thanks Ross????

Thanks Steve. My thoughts were to try to create the mood of a savanna at night with an absolutely clear sky filled with a spectacular view of the stars, galaxies and nebulae as well as the peaceful yet dangerous reality of living in that environment????

Thanks for the listen. I used two basses both tuned via my trusty snark+ tuner. One bass was played in standard positions, the other an octave up the neck, then mixed them together throughout the piece at various volumes. The thin bass sound is good hearing on your part as I recorded the basses via direct injection without any VST added (amps, cabinets or bass models), just used EQ'ing, auxiliary tracks and mixing the two octaves together to create a fatter tone/effect????

Thanks mark, appreciate the listen and comments. Yes, I did two basses, one playing regular positions, the other playing higher up the neck an octave higher. I mixed them together in various volumes throughout the piece varying from no mix at all to various levels creating a wider and fatter tone as I thought befitted the section they were being heard????

Thanks, really appreciate the listen and comments. I wasn't really aiming for this piece to be a song with a hook, intro, outro. I see this as a songscape, a combination of a song and a soundscape at this time. I do think it could evolve into the classic song format, though, with more work????
