Well done Lynn. My apologies @Marcello I didn't read your full post and went straight for the listen. Lynn has given you some great comments. All the best, Gary

The bass is not down the middle... I believe its over in the right speaker?

That Arturia is sweet. I have it... but dont play piano ? What gives me the Atari ST vibe?

Yes I have acted with my voice when doing impersonations etc. I find I am influenced on how I have heard a song before and by which artist has recorded it or others who have sang it. I also fin that my vibrato changes depending on what instruments are used etc. etc. Many of these things are involuntary and we are influenced highly to what we listen too. As a young lad living with my grandparents I used to listen a lot to Jim Reeves, Elvis, Sinatra and pre war stuff. I also find this overlaps over to mixing and mastering. I somehow use a lot of reverb because that's what I was used to in the early 1990s and dont know I am doing it. It was my son who pointed it out to me. Be these things are like fashion "What goes around .. comes around" and keeps changing.

Very nice Fred and thanks for sharing.

It is the low strings and brass: I am impressed with the no midi stuff. ?

I have listened to quite a lot of your stuff... this one seems very mechanical ... not real... cant explain what I mean. I understand where you are coming from... seems a little to much false! Sorry... we all paint very different pictures and as you know when we invite people to critically listen to our music we then get critical replies. ? But the average guy in the street wouldn't notice what some of us talk about and would be happy listening on his ear buds or phone ?

I wanted to leave as the intro was too long and repetitive... but stayed in! interesting use of vocal panning.. too much vocal tune for me though. I don't want to take away from your composition... but its not my genre or sound to listen too. All the best with your music though. Gary

Just given this another listen... grand job!!

A mix of a band I recorded and filmed live.

This was very acoustical experience...
-
this was quite cool--- good separation in the audio.

Mark.... brilliant. We all paint very different pictures... The snare to me sounds a little trapped... a little more room?? Loved the vocal and the timing and tightness on the instruments. A nice stereo spread on the acoustic guitars and mandolin. Strings could come up a little and the lead guitar is hidden. Just my opinion. Well done mate.

Yup... I know him well!

Merry Christmas from Norway! The ORIGINAL home of Father Christmas ? lol

Very nice. Took a look at "pianobook" never heard of it before and also download some cool stuff. I liked your piece and processed well on my Focal trio's. Bass to me (we all paint very different pictures) seemed too be a little muffled?? Not trying to say I know it all or take away from what you have created... just my personal taste. Loved the percusion and twinkling of the bells with a little electronic vibraphone with good spaced stereophonic tickling my ears.

OK... so may come across as a ***** in this one! On my system it sounds boxy (we all paint very different pictures) Lyrics and drums are brill! Delays are cool too! Can I have ago at mixing... cause I cant explain what I'm trying to say. Loved the synth/guitars and the Mike Oldfield guitar (my ears) As a note to all... We all listen I believe more than the average Joe in the street on his Apple buds or JBL earphones. But if the vibe its there... its there and doesn't stand a patch/matter what we think! brilliant though!! Honesty in a nut shell!!!

Hi Paul. just a little bit of encouragement for you on your latest song. I like it!! ? If you have been listening to it for a long time and have a little ear fatigue... it wont sound boxy to you. Maybe try resetting your ears with a reference track... Good Job. Id love to have a go at it too.

Brilliant mate... Well done! Merry Christmas.

The cat is wondering what's happening there.... lol: Well done!

Correct... its a mac with mac cables. The keyboard is from another computer that is not in shot... in fact its on top of the mic cabinet. Now with added speaker isolation.
