  1. Dan poisoned his own review by making sure to remind us every chance of how biased he was. He downplayed everything that Kirchoff was better at. He did make sone good points, but it was hard to ignore the fact that he made it clear from the beginning what his conclusion was going to be. I love Dan's videos but like all of these guys, he (same goes for Paul) is showing signs that his popularity has swollen his ego to the point where I can only take these guys in doses. Thanks for posting though.
  2. I love melda products. I just want nothing from adsr
  3. I just can't do it. Not for a phaser.
  4. Hats off to the guys that made the demos. So far it sounds absolutely mediocre for me. I will work on it some more
  5. ? Waves. My installations broke again. I'm not paying for another thing from them.
  6. I wanted to like this, but it's kinda halfbaked. The midi it exports is janky. Usable, but in that way that's not that much of a shortcut lol. I will test some more before uninstalling
  7. Also, most of my controllers map very well to MPC software. My Arturia and my Alesis control common q control functions like tempo, zoom, bar length, resolution, tempo, timeline position, etc. It's not as tightly integrated for things like sound selection, but maybe a good trade off if you have a better quality keyboard controller. The free MPC software is limited as a stand alone product, but the limitations are deceptive. A full kit of multiple layered drums and even sample loops counts as one track. Each sound has individual mixing. One track is really multiple tracks in practice. For hip-hop, you can do a complete song within it minus vocals. With that said, I have too many damn samples lol
  8. Addictive Keys works fine for me in Studio One. Have you tried XLN support?
  9. Finances always play a part, but plugins have also gotten cheaper. I have slowed down because I honestly don't use a quarter of what I have. I kinda regret biting on IK studio max 3 deal recently. It was cheap but I find myself overwhelmed by volume of total redundancy. How many 1176 emulations do I need? How many pultecs do I need? What is hundreds of gigs of synth plugs that largely overlap the same synths in my Arturia collection gonna add to me making better music? Considering I have an Arturia controller that makes finding sounds far easier than the endless void of Sampletank patches with the same name. I'm not bashing IK. I love IK. Their products have served me well over the years and I think they offer a lot of bang ror the buck. This is just an expression of what happens when you realize how useless it was to add a big bundle of IK on top of the glut on my computer. So much that I realized I didn't install the modo drum 1.5 kits before downloads expired...and didn't care. Practicality is driving me far more than finances.
  10. These testimonials don't mean $___ anymore. It's ridiculous. I'm sure it's a decent product, but we all have an insane amount of saturation plugins, especially if we count all the plugins that are saturation plugins with catchy marketing euphemisms like "The Flavorator" or the "Bass Hibachi"
  11. They bought the tabs back. Apparently, I had already upgraded.
  12. Interesting sound design tool
  13. I suspect it may be a folder structure thing
  14. I never got my voucher this month. Hopefully this still works like this on the 1st when i get paid
  15. I don't mean like this. This is normal. I mean folders sometimes are not selectable at all. This is a known issue :
  16. I like this sample manager, but it drives me crazy that updates often lead to folders being grayed out and having to start rebuilding database from scratch
  17. This question prompted me to pull out Captain for the first time in a long time. What I do find Captain plugins useful for is songwriting. I laid down a foundation for a song we are making a demo for within minutes. The drums took the longest since Captain Beat is trash. Eventually everything but perhaps the bassline and a pluck motiff will be replaced, but it did it's job on creating something to write to.
  18. Not all, but my ex might beg to differ!
  19. I have both and they are very different beasts. Scaler is a lot less random. Both can give instant gratification, but Scaler has more valuable to a person who understands music theory and can grow with you a lot better imho. Captain is better at generating usable parts that work well together. I use Scaler far more because I can place chords that are difficult for me to play. If I can think it, I can do it. In any case, Scaler works well with other generative tools.
  20. I like this bundle but I occasionally get bugs . I fear the lack of updates will eventually catch me offguard on a critical project.
  21. Not falling for troll bait. Enjoy your evening. Relay works just fine in that capacity for me.
