  1. Out of curiosity I turned off the Motu, and turned on the 6i6. The list changed to this. I opened Cakewalk to double check ASIO and all 6 ins and outs where showing. So odd that the driver doesn't report and all you see is the 1/2 input. I think I was right about getting the Motu just to get proper ASIO drivers. The 6i6 is up to date with a driver issued in 2019?
  2. When you took your screen shot was the Quad Capture hooked up and running? It should show like this. If not then the drivers are not working I guess.
  3. Time for a new Interface? I gave up on my 1st gen 6i6 and bought a Motu M4 . Nice to have everything up to date and working smoothly again. The 6i6 and my Tascam us1641 are getting outdated and driver support is fading away. Never did like the pre amps.
  4. Agreed, the Air installation is probably the worst of anything I have ever used. First you need to open a iLock account and download the app. open, log on and activate your computer. When you install the plug in you have to pay supper close attention to where stuff is going. And even that didn't work for me. I just checked and my Air stuff is in its own folder. LocalC/Program files(x86) Air Music Technology. But that is just the content, the patches and samples. I could not get it to work when I directed the instal pth to my E drive. The dll files are in MY Steinberg Program File (x86) folder.
  5. That typical. It's nice to actually find hardware that supports Cakewalk directly. We are often the DAW not on the list. I just bought a Motu audio interface and was disappointed that they included a long list of supported DAW's and Cakewalk was not included. Most were Mac DAW's. So one choice is to try and buy from vendors who offer support for your DAW. A visit to the manufactures web site will soon reveal where their loyalties are.
  6. I think you guys probably just scared the $__t out of the OP. They were probably just looking for a preset on Prochannel
  7. I posted that thread thinking there might be someone in there who owns one you can PM directly. Might take a while to get an answer if they are not a regular.
  8. Not mentioned here is to open the "Track Manager" and look for hidden tracks. But that said it is a bone of contention because it would seem a simple feature that has been requested forever on the forum. I always top and tail my songs in Wave Lab for this reason. There's always a space at the start and lots at the end. The other day I thought I'd try something I've seen mentioned here a few times where you load a whole album of your songs into a project to master. The mastering part was fine, and toping the start is easy, but the tails were all to long, even though the other songs were muted the tail was as long as the longest song. for all sonGS. So had to clean up in Wave Lab anyhow.
  9. It was advice given to me on the old forum a long way back. I guess when I started using the LP MUlti band I really noticed a midi delay. The global works great because it is very visible and by shutting everything off, you won't forget to turn it back on when finished recording. Funny thing is you shut it off and sometimes your song sounds better!
  10. Being cheap, I have the free upgraded versions on 3 of my machines which of course is the basic version. I still can't see anything about pro that matters to music. Might matter for other uses like a professional setting in a office. But I'm at Home with Home!
  11. I have been following Secret Sauce on YouTube, Thanks, Hank That's the way to do it. His videos are fun to watch. The stock Cakewalk ones are informative but dry. But it took me 15 years to figure things out and I'm still learning! Just one task at a time. If you have a question just use Google and 99% of the time the answer is there. A very handy tool while learning is the HELP module found in the Browser on the right. If it's not there go to Views.
  12. I think you have it. One template has a "master" the other is a "Master" as well as it had Span in the bin.
  13. Trouble shooting is a process of elimination. You have to look at your whole system and swap out components until the issue disappears. That includes Hardware and Software components. A VST plug in would be a software component. A Headphone jack a Hardware component.
  14. I guess you didn't watch my video. That was part of my tutorial. You should start your own thread I can't keep it straight who I'm responding to, The OP or you. Your both Steve.
  15. Almost sounds like your monitoring system might have a bad connection, cable etc. The DAw cannot do this unless you have a weird plug in happening. Try this- Headphones By pass all effects. FX Switch to your on board sound card and use the headphone jack. Or better yet another audio interface if you can borrow one.
  16. Are you on the latest version? This used to happen to me as well but has gone away. I can close Cakewalk and the piano midi icon is gone instantly now. I found that impressive. It used to always stick around for at least 30 seconds and longer for as long as I can remember. I just noticed this the other day because I closed Cakewalk and then I opened it almost within 10 seconds because I forgot to do something. I was surprised it opened so fast. And this for me is on 2 completely different computers/ interfaces so it can't be a system issue.
  17. Funny you say the colours do not get saved, I noticed that too, Mine have no colour. The other sort of a bug, is is often it will insert another Master bus and reverb bus. Not sure why. I think it's just a couple of my track templates do this. Might have been I was using a different interface when I saved the template.
  18. I find it more useful to use track templates. That way I can populate a project in a matter of a few minutes with everything I will need. I find it even creates a sub bus if that's what the track was pointed at. Complete with all the pro channel set ups and effects in bins. It great for guitar as it keeps the sound consistent from song to song if your working on an album. For whole projects like say a live recording session of a whole band, I have a CWP file called " Tascam multi track" . If I open that it's ready to record all 16 channels plus even a midi track. Then for each band I just re name the tracks to match what we are recording and "save as" to a new folder for that band. If they give me the set list then I'll take the time to create a "save as" for each song in that folder. A CWP to me is more or less going to accomplish what a CWT does. I have another CWP file called "song Idea" which has a Vocal and guitar track set up and ready to roll. It also has a bass track and a midi track and Session drummer loaded. You just have to remember to perform the "save as" before you record anything or the audio will get put in the wrong place. But that's sort of what you do with templates as well. So for you all you need to do is switch from saving a CWT over to CWP and you can put those in any folder you like. Mine are in a Template folder but there are no CWT files in it just CWP and some midi stuff for drum beats.
  19. If you check the Hide related plug in box you won't see the VST2.
  20. You don't give us anything to go on... What is your set up- audio interface etc. If your using on board audio then that might be why.
  21. I hooked up my 505 via MIDI via my Motu Midi port. This is the settings I used and it worked first time. Now my 505 is pretty old and it uses plain old midi sync. I used to control my Yamaha MD8 recording desk transport using the MTC or MMC cannot remember which but what was important was to match up the frame rate. You notice it shows as 30 FPS here. You need to know what your drum machine is set for possibly if this is the case.
  22. Good to see your still there. Notice no one replied? But I check the forum a few times a day everyday and this is the first your thread showed? You always get an answer with in a day here and even the Staff are very active. Anyhow glad you got it sorted. Laptops are a PITA.
  23. I have always toggle the global FX off when doing any recording, both midi or audio.
  24. I've had no problem syncing my Drum Machine ( Roland 505) I put the drum machine in Midi sync mode and then set up this page until it works. Try a few different settings. Especially the Send midi sync boxes.
