  1. I think you have it. One template has a "master" the other is a "Master" as well as it had Span in the bin.
  2. Trouble shooting is a process of elimination. You have to look at your whole system and swap out components until the issue disappears. That includes Hardware and Software components. A VST plug in would be a software component. A Headphone jack a Hardware component.
  3. I guess you didn't watch my video. That was part of my tutorial. You should start your own thread I can't keep it straight who I'm responding to, The OP or you. Your both Steve.
  4. Almost sounds like your monitoring system might have a bad connection, cable etc. The DAw cannot do this unless you have a weird plug in happening. Try this- Headphones By pass all effects. FX Switch to your on board sound card and use the headphone jack. Or better yet another audio interface if you can borrow one.
  5. Are you on the latest version? This used to happen to me as well but has gone away. I can close Cakewalk and the piano midi icon is gone instantly now. I found that impressive. It used to always stick around for at least 30 seconds and longer for as long as I can remember. I just noticed this the other day because I closed Cakewalk and then I opened it almost within 10 seconds because I forgot to do something. I was surprised it opened so fast. And this for me is on 2 completely different computers/ interfaces so it can't be a system issue.
  6. Funny you say the colours do not get saved, I noticed that too, Mine have no colour. The other sort of a bug, is is often it will insert another Master bus and reverb bus. Not sure why. I think it's just a couple of my track templates do this. Might have been I was using a different interface when I saved the template.
  7. I find it more useful to use track templates. That way I can populate a project in a matter of a few minutes with everything I will need. I find it even creates a sub bus if that's what the track was pointed at. Complete with all the pro channel set ups and effects in bins. It great for guitar as it keeps the sound consistent from song to song if your working on an album. For whole projects like say a live recording session of a whole band, I have a CWP file called " Tascam multi track" . If I open that it's ready to record all 16 channels plus even a midi track. Then for each band I just re name the tracks to match what we are recording and "save as" to a new folder for that band. If they give me the set list then I'll take the time to create a "save as" for each song in that folder. A CWP to me is more or less going to accomplish what a CWT does. I have another CWP file called "song Idea" which has a Vocal and guitar track set up and ready to roll. It also has a bass track and a midi track and Session drummer loaded. You just have to remember to perform the "save as" before you record anything or the audio will get put in the wrong place. But that's sort of what you do with templates as well. So for you all you need to do is switch from saving a CWT over to CWP and you can put those in any folder you like. Mine are in a Template folder but there are no CWT files in it just CWP and some midi stuff for drum beats.
  8. If you check the Hide related plug in box you won't see the VST2.
  9. You don't give us anything to go on... What is your set up- audio interface etc. If your using on board audio then that might be why.
  10. I hooked up my 505 via MIDI via my Motu Midi port. This is the settings I used and it worked first time. Now my 505 is pretty old and it uses plain old midi sync. I used to control my Yamaha MD8 recording desk transport using the MTC or MMC cannot remember which but what was important was to match up the frame rate. You notice it shows as 30 FPS here. You need to know what your drum machine is set for possibly if this is the case.
  11. Good to see your still there. Notice no one replied? But I check the forum a few times a day everyday and this is the first your thread showed? You always get an answer with in a day here and even the Staff are very active. Anyhow glad you got it sorted. Laptops are a PITA.
  12. I have always toggle the global FX off when doing any recording, both midi or audio.
  13. I've had no problem syncing my Drum Machine ( Roland 505) I put the drum machine in Midi sync mode and then set up this page until it works. Try a few different settings. Especially the Send midi sync boxes.
  14. Don't go for the sound blaster!! Realtek is 100% better. as far as on board audio goes. 100's of posts about issues with Creative audio drivers. You can get by just fine with on board for listening , using audio that is already recorded ( loops) and midi with VST instruments. No problem, but you cannot record audio very well if at all , it will be out of sync and kind of hard to plug anything professional into that little pink jack.
  15. Didn't you read the information on scooks posts. That tells you what to do as far as I can tell. Basically you are probably missing a CC+. I remember that from back then because I have X3 Studio.
  16. Did I waist my time making the tutorial? I made it just for you. And you need a master bus,99% of users do it that way. Yes you can go directly to your sound card but there are good reasons to use the master bus. One is once you have a dozen tracks playing you will have no idea of how loud the combined tracks have become. The video I made you covers all this. There are plenty of good tutorial videos. Just google your question and include Cakewalk in that.
  17. Watch the video I made for him, I demonstrate how to set up for on board. I figured that was his issue. https://youtu.be/opDwsC4_llg?si=RKoGXyA1jQxkeEzr
  18. One thing I just had happen because I was working on videos and using 48hz, Cakewalk would drop out when switch back to 44.1 or I loaded a 44.1 project. So is it possible your interface is having to change sample rates? This shouldn't happen but it is a possibility. If your projects are 48 and your exporting to 44.1. But as said this is off line and shouldn't matter. But it might explain the drop out and why the export is unaffected. I don't think the export uses your ASIO driver or the audio engine. But if it's converting??
  19. If the OP, if they ever come back, did not download the " instal add ons" found in the drop down of the Bandlab assistant, they might not have much to work with. I'm not sure what originally is included and I'm sure it's easy to look up. But what comes to mind is they are using the "insert instrument" dialog and the TTS-1 is the default. They have not clicked on the drop down menu to reveal the other instruments. OP-If you ever return, you can use the Synth Rack in the browser as well as the browser has instruments and effects listed if you take the time to look.
  20. I just found this thread. Didn't have time to read every page so I might be repeating. I have grabbed a free good ones from here https://www.pluginboutique.com/categories/1-Instruments?free=true You just sign up and everything you purchase and all your chosen freebies are stored in your stash. It's handy if you have more than one computer and all of a sudden want the VST. Ones I'm using are the Ample Bass and Guitar which everyone here must be aware of by now, The Yojo banjo is excellent for none bluegrass applications. Its a convincing 4 string sound. The DSK guitar is OK but I generally don't use those ( I'm a guitar player why would I?) The only other freebie I use is the Verberate reverb. ( I know its an effect) I'm finding I use it more and more.. simple but it sounds smooth. https://www.kvraudio.com/product/fretless-zither-by-versilian-studios I was looking for a sitar sound for the lik in Mothers little helper and this was perfect. https://vst4free.com/plugin/275/ Mr Tramp only bummer is only 32 bit, but I have it on dozens of songs and have never had an issue. It's still the best true to form Wurly I know of. And I've tried them all. I even just paid a whole $4 for Model T and it's a lame duck compared to Mr Tramp. But I got izotope Nectar for free out of that purchase ( Plug in Boutique) I have a 32 bit Poly 800 VST I also used a lot but just yesterday stumbled across this 64 bit version https://vst4free.com/plugin/3134/ Its called the Fury 800 and being someone who owned a real version this is very well done. It's better than the original. Also already mentioned that I use are the Combo V and F organs.
  21. I think the point us old farts are making is we sort of just have to laugh when someone complains about the "new lazy" approach to making music and wondering why some VST instruments don't use patch changes. If you think the old days were better? It would be fun to send you back there with $100 in your pocket and see how far you would get. Spoiled rotten I say. Everything is free now. With the Poly 800 as an example - I certainly would not be able to afford to replace it with the real thing I doubt there is even one for sale. The VST is actually better in many ways than the original and it's free. I love it! Bring it on. patch changes?? . Oh, looks like this one does, if you open the Patch in the Midi track strip ( or ) the list if patches shows. I would have never know if this topic had not come to light because I always just use the GUI. Nice to have choices.
  22. What I'm seeing is your hard drive is almost full. At least that's what I always thought that icon is for. The other one below is how much memory your using. You need to remove stuff to a back up drive and delete junk your not using. To check disk usage just open the my Computer -- This PC icon.
  23. Do you guys realize this is an old thread suddenly dug up by a 1 post wonder- Mister- just to tell us they don't need CbB because they have X2 and X3?? kind of sad actually. Choosing software just because you don't need the internet is sort of like buying a coal fired stove because you don't need natural gas.
  24. I mentioned SI drums because if you have Cakewalk you have it. Myself I use both Session Drummer and Addictive drums both which came with Sonar versions. back when. SI Drums is very basic but at least better than using TTS_1 drums.
