  1. Generally I don't think I've ever encountered this issue andf I have in the past re done dozens and dozens of downloads. In my signature is a link to my web page and both text based and a video all about using a downloaded file and swapping each instrument for something better than TTS-1.
  2. About the clip gain. As my above post I was unaware of its use. So I have tried it but I cannot get it to behave the way everyone is describing it works. for me the red line behaviour is the same as a standard volume envelope. I grab in the middle and get a peak. Not a even line. Is there setting or toggle?
  3. What @marled just said. I just bought a Motu M4. And I was having terrible playback issues. Same settings with my old Scarlett interface no problems. Motu’s answer was to install a PCIe USB card. I should have known better than to buy a bus powered interface. I have ordered the USB card but for a laptop you would need a powered USB hub. if it’s possible take the interface back and exchange for one that has a power supply option.
  4. None of us here would ever claim to be a pro. Pro’s wouldn’t even bother with these types of questions. They only like to squabble over which $5,000 gadget is the best. I think what @InstrEd is meaning is sometimes we can only guess at what people are trying to do and what their goals are.
  5. You need to possibly read the instructions that came with the interface. It will explain how to use the direct monitoring so you hear both the computer and your mike with out latency in the speaker or headphones
  6. As I said before A clean install. That’s more involved than just re install. You can google it. Re install keeps a lot of the original files. A clean install involves wiping ever last traces of cakewalk first
  7. I’m in he mood for some fun. No body thinks in terms of mono because we have two ears. There, I said it. Surround sound is for modern people who actually have 5 ears. But no one wants to admit that
  8. It’s dead simple. If there is one cable plugged into your audio interface then you will be recording mono. If there’s two cables, like from a hardware synth or guitar processor then you record stereo. There is no point in recording a mono signal to stereo track. It actually makes it harder to pan correctly. The VST effects you add to the mono track are sent out in stereo to your master bus.
  9. Just save Shortcut to the CWP on your desktop but really. How hard is it to do what @Nigel Mackay said
  10. What I'm seeing is in the new Channel, Pro Channel is turned off. Not sure why all the controls are at zero? If I insert a new audio track and open pro channel the EQ most are pointed straight up. Is that a custom pre set? C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\mfc140u.dll - When I enter that into google search I get a warning that it can harm my computer?? But it seems this is part of a download of Visual C++ You would have to do a clean uninstall and re install of Cakewalk to fix any weirdness.
  11. Yes in the past there were a lot of small none showstopper bugs. When Bandlab took over the first thing the staff they kept on board did was dig in and work hard to rectify this. I think now bugs are rare and Cakewalk might just be the most stable it's ever been. Are your projects 100% midi? Seems your not talking about any audio or using an audio interface. And if your midi interface has up to date drivers there's should be nothing happening there. This may sound stupid but, did you swap out you audio cables and anything in your audio system that might cause this like a loose connection or a dirty volume pot? Trouble shooting is a process of elimination.
  12. You are correct. It is very un useable to me. Its about 30 db lower and what is weird if you turn it up it peaks the meters but is still too quiet. Did you try that free MT Power kit yet. I like it a lot. Dead simple and sounds just fine. https://www.powerdrumkit.com/download76187.php yes there is a nag screen but it was easy to get rid of,, I gave them a ten spot. Also my trick of grabbing the Addictive Drums free version and all that is missing is Toms- Not a big deal as I'm not a heavy user of toms on my backing tracks. And just point the toms at SI drums. Free.
  13. another post by on board sound user who haven't checked the master bus only to find it is set for digital audio out. That's why I made this video as I get tired of answering this same question.
  14. Don't know if this was mentioned yet Run this test https://www.resplendence.com/latencymon It will tell you what is going on under the hood.
  15. @oneofmany see what I just did, you put an @ in front of username and that person gets a notification so they will see your reply. Just edit your post and include azslow and he will eventually see it.
  16. Often this issue is caused when a windows update overwrites the manufacturers USB midi driver with a generic midi driver. If your controller has a driver. re install it. If it doesn’t then you’ll probably have to live with this or buy a name brand controller that uses a proper driver
  17. This is why you really need a proper audio interface. I'm sorry but on board audio sucks for DAW use.
  18. I would think the only way this works is to simply draw this in the tempo view. Not hard to do.
  19. Go to the search in the lower left tray and type "Reg" and Reg edit will show. Open and follow above. And FYI. That generic driver comes with Stienberg software like Cubase or Wave Lab
  20. If you really want to ramp up your brass sounds. Keep an eye out for Air's Xpand 2 going on sale. Being 4 channels you can build a killer brass section and the effects ( reverbs) are 100% better than tts-1. I think I paid $10 for my version. https://www.airmusictech.com/product/xpand2#.X_krndhKiM8
  21. Myself I use Gold Wave. It's free to use forever ( nag screen @abacab ) = I paid the $50 a long time ago for lifetime membership. Great little Canadian software company- yes we are also hi tech and not just all about snowmobiles.
  22. I often use SI Drums for demos because I can share them and everyone who has CbB will have SI drums. But having an easy to use free ( almost) software is another way to up the quality of what people on a budget can do. Example is Ample P Bass lite. The best sounding emulation of a P Bass I've ever used. Another one on my list to pay for when I have the cash just to get that low D.
  23. Yes for sure- I have a Scarlett but what I did was grab the Mark IV instead of the full piano. I Do use the Mark VI but lately I'm really liking Velvet by Air, I actually think the Wurly is exactly like my beloved ( free) Mr Tramp which alas is only 32 bit. . I might be buying the Scarlett 8i6 so I guess that's a bonus to purchasing it By the way, I just downloaded and installed the MT drums and fired it up. I don't think the Nag screen is a problem at all. And all they want is a donation so even though I don't need another drum kit I might just do that because it is actually not bad at all. What I really like is totally on topic for this thread- Dead simple to assign each kit piece to an output. Just like Session Drummer. I tried multi outputs with AD2 last night and could not find the toggles. Possibly it just goes to all 16 outs. I prefer to only use 4 to 6 just like I'm used to with analog drum mixes.
