  1. I made him a video. If this doesn't work ?? @PAUL KEENAN
  2. You watched my video and have no clue! You need to find a different hobby
  3. To me using patterns is a lot more work than others methods you could use to create music. I’ve never understood the point of them other than for drums. I guess I’ve always figured out how to make my own parts a lot faster than digging though 1,000’s of patterns I was not a keyboard player when midi came into my life. I had absolutely no clue where the notes were. But I quickly figured out how to play simple bass parts on a keyboard and how to edit them into an ok backing track. After all you could slow down the tempo and even then we had quantize. I bought the Roland GR50 hoping to play bass lines on my guitar. It worked but because data storage was limited I couldn’t use the resulting midi data because it was huge. So back to the keyboard It took 30 year for my dream to come true and I can now play my real bass and just drag it to a midi track. But up until then I just got better and better at keyboards because I had to if I wanted good tracks. I now enjoy keyboard and look forward to spending more time practicing now I’m retired. then there’s drums!
  4. The minute that you change the file extensions you have created a new version that is not an updated copy but is a different version. I don’t know anything about bandlab but I would assume it doesn’t use CWP files.
  5. If your file is only midi you can post it in a Private Message to me as a CWP file and I’ll look at it.
  6. To show hide bus pane drag it from the bottom or shift B I made a video.
  7. I use ctrl W a lot. Best shortcut ever
  8. This happens when you have one track highlighted that is blank. Use either select all or select none before you export
  9. Shape events cannot be edited but can be deleted according to the documentation. But this is implied that you have drawn an automated volume envelope
  10. Sounds like you moved the volume slide on the keyboard while recording and this gets recorded as a CC event. Open the event list and look. Uncheck notes and look for volume events
  11. Just log on to Command Center everything you purchased will be there. If you forgot your login information Support will help you get it working
  12. @BGJammer I posted a folder with some of my bluegrass collection. I also made a midi folder with a lot of files in it. Should keep you busy for a few years. Link is in my signature
  13. No they are not dumb questions. And I’m glad you explained your situation. I actually start to worry about folks who seem to struggle and yes we’ve all been there before and I don’t forget how hard it was for me to change from hardware to software. I guess part of the problem with using a DAW is you really do need to spend a lot of time just learning how the stupid thing works an it takes all the fun out of recording. I’m still learning. I think as you start out best to do very basic recording and don’t try to use all the fancy things that are so tempting. Like Melodyne. I avoided it for a long time now and just figured it out this fall. Sort of
  14. In my signature is also more helpful tutorials.
  15. I say in the video that there’s really no difference between the pro channel effects bin and the regular bin based on this diagram. If I’m wrong please someone point it out. edit update. I since learned that there is no difference in using either one but by default the pro channel is first in the signal path. I added this in the update video
  16. And why is Melodyne in the effects bin?? that's kinda weird. Richard may I ask- are you one of those people who comes here and asks for advice but don't follow through and therefore always having problems?? Not trying to be rude but you seem to be trying to work with Cakewalk in a odd ball way.
  17. I went for lunch once and forgot to stop playback. When I returned there was a 1 hour long empty space still happily playing along the timeline. As I say, I just hit spacebar and if it's set to return to where I started ( Crtl W toggles this) that's goodby to the 1 hour of nothing. If it's set to stop in place, I just hit W and return to the beginning. There's no data created past the end of the the audio or midi if all you did was play the song. But if you do this while recording even silence is data and the song will have this included in the export. Yes it would be nice to have a end of song marker that works but as I say myself I would never use it because it's not an issue for me. On rare occasion I have an export with a long tail and I can easily find out why. It's going to be some data that got shuffled out of sight due to editing copy paste etc. It's a good thing people don't use reel to reels for recording anymore...
  18. Updated a bunch of files. I added sub folders with categories to make it easier to find what your interested in. I've got a long ways to go before this is finished. Just spent the evening opening all my Bluegrass songs and removing audio and then "save as" to one drive. Also did a whole bunch of 60's stuff too. I also will try to put full song titles. Artist and some lyrics in the "NOTES" so open the notes and you might get lucky.
  19. Funny it never bothers me as I just ignore it and hit W
  20. Cakewalk lyrics implementation is very basic and crude. I don’t think any one uses it successfully. I think it’s DOS. It is a long standing update request like staff view.
  21. They stopped making the 6i6. The 4i6 is the closest but lacking the spdif so for me the 8i6 is the best replacement. But I’ve decided to just carry on and put up with Motu issues hoping for that update. I can like you just use my old interface because lesson learned is nothing new is guaranteed to be better
  22. You would have had a audio clip highlighted. You need to find it and render or bounce to clip. All clips that have or had Melodyne applied will say that in the clip I’d text The thing that normally says record 33. Etc.
  23. When I first got my Tascam us1641 in 2008 the driver was at least much better than the M Audio fast track it replaced but there were many issues for sure I finally got fed up in 2014 and bought the Scarlett 6i6. It had just hit the street and it went through a year of updates before it became solid. It’s still super solid and my best overall interface. About the time I bought the 6i6 (2014) Tascam did go in house and released a new driver for mine. Wasn’t expecting that. It became solid as a rock ever since. But both are 6 years old and I thought time for an update to the modern world. What a disappointment the Motu was as the only thing better is a few ms of RTL. I am hoping a driver update will fix the issues it has that my other 2 devices don’t have Wont switch sample rate for some videos pops loudly when it does Have to run at a higher buffer settings or crackles and needs to be turned on before I open cakewalk doesn’t have power supply rear jacks are almost useless because no toggle settings no SPDIF after all Tascam did come through 6 years later ?
  24. That’s what I do. There’s always a point that is seem less and you hear nothing
