  1. I think the interest in tape is that those people feel like this missed out on some golden era of recording. They do all the wrong things with a DAW and then think if they record to tape all those issues will be solved. The stupid thing is most of them can't afford the tape machines that would actually sound good and they start looking at cassettes! How dumb is that. Cassette never could compete with a proper reel to reel ever. I have way too many of those old cassette recordings and about all I can say is- I wish I had a DAW when I did that!
  2. It took me 30 years but for me the best mike live and in the studio is a Sure Beta 58 with a sock on it. There's a lot of noise in my house right now with fans and appliances and dogs. Until I can build my dream studio condenser mikes are out of the question. I meant to ask you- is your dog a type of labradoodle ? it looks a bit like one of ours.
  3. Spotify wants me to create an account. But Itunes ( Apple) is working fine on my PC computer. Apple has this unwarranted level of security and you can't do anything with out re logging in to your account. I can hardly wait till that phone dies and go back to an Android. Anyhow I love your backing instruments especially the bass. Well done.
  4. Plus 1 to this. I am a big fan of traditional B3 music. I have worked sound for bands that had the real deal and the cabinet. So I know exactly what I want to hear. Ive tried them all and the Air DB 33 wins the race. It’s a little buggy in the pre sets. And often would revert to patch 1 on me. Seems to have settled down. I have it in a lot of tracks. Just recorded one last night. The collaB is too churchy sounding and yes it also seems a hog.
  5. Weird is it won’t open on my Iphone? Wants me to sign in to iTunes account which of course I’m already signed in.
  6. Nice job I like it. Lots of good parts happening to keep the interest. I think your voice is fine. I’ve gotten used to it?. But if you want more warmth use a dynamic mike and get right on it. I tried Ozone and it actually sounds worse on my tracks. I think it’s made for people who have real bad sounding tracks and have no clue how to fix them. I’m of the camp which you get a great sound before you hit the big R. Then very little is needed

    No audio output?

In my signature is a link to my tutorials there are a few on setting up midi
  8. Sample rate. In my signature is a link to my tutorials. Watch the one called “ on board sound”
  9. This is a license issue between you and Nomad. Contact their support and they will fix it. When Gibson gave us the shove Nomad was one of the companies that stepped up to the plate and issued us open licensing that wasn’t tied to Sonar.
  10. It says this device does not work on. USB 3 connector so make sure you are using USB 2 you are using the 5 pin DIN connection I assume. If you’re using a Controller with USB cable then make sure you install the driver that Is supplied by the manufacturer
  11. The OP left the room 6 Days ago which is typically his behaviour. But I will say all 4 of the interfaces I have owned all have a blend controller and I really can’t see not having this option. Seems a critical function to me.
  12. @Glenn Stanton The OP has an audio interface if I remember the other threads correctly. So windows sounds have nothing to do with that. They are for on board audio.
  13. But if you had followed my advise which was to by pass ALL effects using the toggle in the Track Manager you would have solved your issue a long time ago. This is the reason we do it that way. It eliminates all possibilities. It even toggles the Pro Channel. It's easy to miss those and would eliminate issues like @murat k. mentioned. I use that toggle when recording new audio or midi tracks to eliminate issues with latency and CPU load. If it's in the effect bin then what else could it be but an effect. It is 100% in your signal path. It shouldn't cause issues but if it does find something else. Lots of choices. I just looked it up and it seems totally pointless. It doesn't do anything the Master buss doesn't already do. Use Span if you want a free meter that tells you a lot more than cakewalk. A must have tool in my studio. That and the Youlean loudness meter paid version. https://www.voxengo.com/product/span/ https://youlean.co/youlean-loudness-meter/
  14. One of the wonderful things about using any DAW is the way it can all of a sudden go silent on you and there might be a dozen reasons. I know those so it's gotta be a doozer when I end up stumped. I was working on some old live recordings , audio tracks and no effects are added yet. I wanted the console view on my second monitor. Workspaces usually fixes this but it didn't so I just undocked the multi dock and I dragged it over to the second monitor. Something I've done a million times. Weird. why is the DB33 organ VST GUI open? I pressed a GUI key and it makes sound? There's no midi or instruments tracks?? How can you have a VST with no tracks, Checked the track manager, nope, no track. I opened the synth rack and it's there. But I can't remove it?? Oh well, I'll deal with that later, No, I've got no sound on playback now. I start going over the dozen ways that a project can be silent, I even checked my monitor system as OK. Then when I checked the master buss output I spot the DB33 in the effects bin. ? Luckily it let me delete it there. But the weirdness is how on earth did it get there to begin with. My only guess is as I dragged the console view over the Browser it grabbed it somehow. So add that to your troubleshooting list of things to check when a bus or track goes silent. A VST instrument in the bin.
  15. In my very first reply I advised you to by pass ALL effects. And now your saying the issue IS caused by effects so you obviously didn't take my advise. Most people use Cakewalk and have no issues. The ones that do simply can't follow the directions on the label.
  16. The big clue is that you say you get no sound when clicking the GUI drums. This tells me the output of the VST in not going to your master bus. Check the output and make sure nothing is muted or that there’s any volume envelopes happening. Open the event list and check it
  17. There’s your problem In my signature is links to my Cakewalk tutorials. There’s 2 there that clearly explains your problem. “Why ASIO is important” and “using on board sound “
  18. @Glenn Stanton I often thought about J bridge but it looks to me that it has not been updated for a long time now. The info says it all. For Windows XP and up. I’m reluctant to install anything that doesn’t look like it’s W10 compatible it would be interesting to know if bitbridge is just as old. It seems the only place you even run into 32 bit VST’s is when cruising for freebies. I always set the filters to exclude 32 to avoid temptation. I send all 32 plug ins to the program 86 side of the fence and exclude those folders from the scan path If I need one I copy it over to the 64 bit VST folder.
  19. We bought the signature 10 just for playback of my backing tracks and now that no longer works. I paid probably $200 more for a feature that broke in very short time. I have mixers that are 20 year old that never broke. Soundcraft is now made in China which explains it all.
  20. I think it’s more of an issue for people who use the notation. I
  21. Latency is not an issue with any interfaces unless you use guitar sims. You use direct monitoring and then there’s no latency. As long as they supply up to date ASIO drivers you’ll be fine. I bought a Soundcraft signature 10 and the USB connection is broken after only 2 years. I’ll never buy that brand again. aband I was in bought a Yamaha 16 channel mixer and it was much better quality to me
  22. You can click anywhere on the timeline but if you have snap on it might move that to the next point on you grid settings
  23. I just tried this and my stereo tracks certainly can be panned. It's not a normal thing to do and a topic of much discussion here. Generally it's best to create 2 mono tracks and work with those.

    Midi won't play

You always OPEN a midi file. Import is for short clips. Make sure nothing is selected in preferences/midi/devices/output and the file will open with the TTS1 In my signature is a link to all my Cakewalk videos. This one here explains what your hoping to do.
  25. I just made this because someone else was having similar issues. This covers all the basics of setting up midi VST and tracks as well as hooking up a controller to trigger them. Oh and by the way, Not sure what the VST drummer Rock SOngs is that sounds more like a midi loop collections, But Addictive drums is great, You can get the free demo that is only missing the toms. SI drums, for the money, is also very good and is included with Cakewalk if you download the additional stuff..
